I was born in 1962. A few relatives had Continentals including my grandfather who was a plant manager for Ford. I loved when I got to ride in one, my favorite seat was the rear arm rest. I could see out all of the windows from there. And of course, I loved the rear opening doors. One of my aunts went from the Continental to the 4 door Thunderbird, that was just as fun.
@@poisedforduty ... Well, I got to a point whereby I realized that short of a lottery win, I'd never be able to afford.. to properly re-do the outside.. to match the gloriously nice inside..... I finally decided to sell after 29 years: it went to a tennis professional.
Simply Beautiful, these continentals are the quintessential classic luxury car. The Continental used in the 007 James Bond Movie, Goldfinger, I am not sure if it was a 1962 model cor or not. It makes me cringe, every time I see that particular scene, in the movie, when the car is destroyed...... sacrilege.
I've been reading do not let your Lincoln Continental from the 60s or any other Ford product, run without you sitting behind the wheel and can put your foot on the brake, they with time and worn parts jump out of geer and quite a few have been damage because of this.. Beautiful car though, always loved the 62, it's my favorite Lincoln Continental
Abso-f*king-lutely STUNNING.....my Grandparents has the exact same model year but in a gorgeous, triple-metallic, dark Emerald green and I adored it. Is that the Polish Eagle though, on the grill badge??

I had a black '62 Lincoln sedan, with incredible red leather, for 29 years!

I like how they put earlier Lincoln wheel covers on the car. Thats what they did on JFKs limosine.
Wheel covers not OEM; exhaust is non-stock. These cars were never noisy, Quiet and comfortable is what attracted buyers.
