I’ve been a HUGE BM fan since the first time I saw the video for the song “I wonder” on tv here in Canada. After the video was over, my buddy and I walked down to the record store and bought the CD. At the time I had a six disc changer and that one didn’t leave the rotation for about 2-3 years. Tones of home, I wonder, Change of course was an instant fav. Also sleepy house and really the entire album. Even no rain…but only like twice🤫 After that day, I was a fan for life! I was 15 years old at the time and just learning how to play guitar. I recently got back into them about a year ago through UA-cam. So many great shows available on here. Woodstock, and of course the much music intimate and interactive. Hell I wish I knew they were going to be playing there in Toronto. I would have made the hour drive for sure. It would have been amazing to be one of the lucky ones to see one of Shannon’s final shows. It broke my heart when that man passed…he was a HUGE part of my teenage years and his music…so pure and original at a time where a lot of shit was cookie cutter. Sorry about the long ass post, just brings back a lot of feelings from almost 30 years ago😢
I got to see Blind Melon perform in Calgary back in the day at a Bowling alley/Casino/Concert Hall and after the show was over me and my buddies decided to go bowling and have drinks. We were the only people in the bowling alley for about 1/2 hour until Shannon Hoon and Blind Melon came in to go bowling as well. They bowled in the bowling g alley right beside us and I got to say hi and talk to Shannon for a bit and just hang out at the same place he was at it was super cool. I so wish I could have got a picture with him but as you know nobody carried cameras around with them back then. I got him to autograph my ticket stub though.
I watched the recent documentary on him and could not believe the amount of video footage that he filmed. I mean in today's age, totally normal, but 1991 1993 etc, to film that much stuff in your own time is insane. And the whole time you're watching it you just want to jump into the screen and say dude stop stop stop stop. So sad.
Went Out There Left Flowers and A Bee Charm…. The crack pipes in my opinion were VERY Disrespectful!!!! I will go back in the summer and scrub the gravesite it’s very dirty RIP Shannon Too Young..😢
Thank you for posting this video. I memorized all turns you made. We made the trip yesterday to pay our respect. Gone but not forgotten.
