    Most people actually think that if you use your front brakes you will go over the bars, most of your braking power comes from your front brakes if used correctly, you will most likely go over your bars going downhill if you use it, but as a cross racer it is actually better to use your front brakes as a main brake power, or assisted with your rear brakes

    • @TheGenericAssasin
      @TheGenericAssasin Рік тому +63

      I think a lot of that fear comes from learning to bike as a kid. As a child you're much lighter so it's a lot riskier using the front break. We probably all have a memory of flying over the handle bars from panicking and grabbing a fistful of front break. As long as you don't make a sharp turn or lockup the wheel it works well now.

    • @SnowMexicann
      @SnowMexicann Рік тому +11

      @@TheGenericAssasin For me it came from a story of my dad going downhill and flying over the front and him telling me to not use my front brake, I started using both when I locked up my rear wheel fully going downhill and almost slid out, now I have control over both at all times.

    • @genixia

      Which of the two brake rotors get hotter during a run?
      The front brakes have the most ability to change the attitude and handling of the bike, hence why they are so important, but most of the energy is usually dissipated in the rear brake.
      The braking power is simply a function of pad friction and rotor size, so assuming the same sized rotors and pads, their power capability will be the same.

    • @TheGenericAssasin
      @TheGenericAssasin Рік тому +16

      @@genixia No you'll get more breaking power on your front break because of how your weight shifts as you are breaking. Initially when you start breaking it will be 50/50 front and rear because your weight is distributed evenly. As you decelerate your weight shifts forward onto the front wheel, and your breaking power shifts along with that weight shift. It's talked about a lot more with motorcycles but the physics is the same for both.

      can't remember what happened but i woke up screaming on the ground, i had massive rash on my face, got a concussion and broke a front tooth (although the dentist at the clinic thought it simply got loose and got it back in, he pressed on it for two or three hours to get it to stay in place, and as a result i still have the tooth even though it's broken in the gum), and i think my helmet got split by the impact

    Являюсь обладателем этого чуда и откатал на нем практически полный сезон. Вел за свои деньги действительно прекрасен, но с нюансами.
    Во-первых, это не совсем гравийник. Если точнее, то триал-спорт при разработке этого велика взяли за основу шоссейную раму. В итоге мы получаем и шоссейную посадку злой креветки. Это не плохо, просто стоит учитывать.
    Во-вторых, тормоза, всё-таки, хлам. Их откровенно не хватает, с учётом довольно немалой средней скорости передвижения на этом велосипеде. Я забирал вел из триала своим ходом и за 20 км умудрился конкретно перегреть роторы, поскольку приходилось довольно часто и резко оттормаживаться. Подумываю о как минимум 180 роторе на переднее колесо и других калиперах. А ещё эти тормоза скрипят как кости старой бабки😂 но зато не нужен звонок, чтобы пугать народ😂
    Третье. Стоковое седло - ад и Израиль. Оно пережимает там, где ты даже подумать не можешь, что можно что-то передавить. Поменял на wtb rocket steel medium и забыл как страшный сон.
    Четвертое. 42 колеса - это максимум для данной рамы. Конкретно по задним перьям. Также с такими покрышками невозможно установить никакие полноразмерные крылья, не разрезая заднее крыло. Плюнул, прицепил mini wings, толку от них немного, но хотя бы яркие и стильные😊
    Также хочу отметить, что родные покрышки так себе подходят для быстрой езды по асфальту. С накатом у них все хорошо, но такой протектор не дает достаточного пятна контакта с асфальтом. В итоге вел начинает очень нервно реагировать на боковой ветер. Ну и на скорости за 70 появляется ощущение полета, или аквапланирования по сухому. Непередаваемо😅
    А так, в целом, велосипедом более чем доволен и катаю с удовольствием.
    Долгих и счастливых километров вам с этим аппаратом и ни гвоздя, ни жезла👍

    Don't listen to them, gravel bikes are awesome as long as you don't try to ride the DH trails using them

    drop bars are actually great on trails if youre good with having less leverage over the bars, I dont need leverage its not very hard to control

    I did a mountain bike trail on my gravel bike recently and while I got through, I really don't need to repeat that experience. Well, maybe. Someday. With wheels significantly wider than 35 mm.

    My buddy had a marin 4 corners with 4 panniers, probably pushing 70 extra lbs... and he ripped up Sorrento Valley/Penosquitos. Nothing crazy but you can get in some technical stuff. The guy was a stud but you've gotta give it to drop bar riders on trails.

    it's usually better to use the front as the main brakes and the rear brakes to assist. It gives you higher breaking power and will save your ass so many times though if it's used correctly but it's easy to learn and isn't dangerous
