What a thoroughly heartening review!! Triumph take note!! All those emotionally challenged, unenthusiastic, rambling reviewers, flown out to exotic locations, who show the same stock footage and the rattle off words from a pre written script, do you no favours at all!! Normally I would not enjoy a photo review, or even a talk n ride review where the engine sound/ commentary is drowned out by music. Yet here within a few seconds, the passion, enthusiasm and excitement of the reviewer slap you in the face like Captain Birdseye with a fresh wet fish!! To hear the engine / exhaust sound as he flipped through that quick shifter, was music to my ears, and totally made up for the lack of ridden review. As for the comment about when your worn out and totally dejected ( censored) then the bike just gives you a cuddle and says "come on let's go a few miles more". Classic!! If it wasn't for lockdown I'd have jumped through the screen and given both him and the bike a Big Hug myself!! I'm not keen on the angry bird looks of this bike, nor the iron bridge style frame, but my God, I think I'm going to be sharing in the EXCITEMENT sooner rather than later!!

So, the very first video I select to learn about this bike has seemingly put all others I intend to watch in a difficult position. In fact, I'm not even sure I need to watch any more.
Triumph marketing missed a trick in not employing you. Thank you very much for your testimony - for want of a better word.
Excellent video! Real world relative & informative. Thank you.

Just bought one this week. Rode through the back end of a tropical storm this morning and, like you, I never felt so comfortable or (dare I say it) safe in shit weather. Blew me away in fact. Engine is a peach - so much more engaging than BMW boxers which I find boring.......think I made the right decision. Love it.

I loved your enthusiasm it's the first time I watch a static test ride till the end, usually, when I realize it's just a chat on the bike pros&cons, I switch to another video.... Not this time, thanks to you. I love that bike too and I will surely try it when I will change my actual Honda Africa Twin 1000

I get the remark about the bike cuddling you, saying, I know you're tired, I know you're pissed off, but just a few more miles, everything will be OK. I often think my KTM says that to me. Made me laugh.

I hate when reviewers willy-wash around their thoughts......do you like the bike, or not???? LOL
Your enthusiasm pushed me over the edge in my decision making between this and a GSA. I've ridden both bikes and love them both.....but the 1200 xrt is about 10K USD less. Enjoyed your review.....now go put some miles on it!!!!!

Love your reviews. Love your enthusiasm. Oh, and that RED color !! No chain maintenance! I'm about the same size as you, 6'3", overweight at 240 lb., I probably have you beat in age as well. Heck, when I was born Albert Einstein was still alive. Greetings from New England USA.

Wow I gotta love your review, and your character, what a fabulous vid.
I am half way there to buying one, just need some more pennies.
Could this be a bike you could keep for 5 to 10 years?

Bought a new xca in 2017, last of the old model, and funnily enough I refer to it being a cuddly bear of a bike. Had lots of gs's over the last 30 years but none of them had the character of the triumph. Don't get me wrong the bmw's were great bikes but not the same endearing character

Pretty sure that water display is temp not level. Don't think there is off-road pro on the model you have there, that is on the XCa not the road biased XRt so you will still have traction and ABS to a degree on the off-road rider mode. You might be able to create your own custom rider mode and have the TSAS suspension set to off-road and turn off the ABS/Traction control off in that mode on the XRt, not sure. You can do that on the XCa but not sure if they let you choose that on the XRt, I would of thought so. You are very enthusiastic about the bike, like most owners, including myself! It;s a peach.

But it is so low for an adventure bike. Sure the settings are there but for someone like me, who is 6,3 it feels too small. The clutch is set rather too high and the engine feels very hot when riding.
