Thank you for your Channel! It is very excellent of you to point out that a Psychology BA is essentially a "stepping stone" degree. I hope to be starting UMPI in July (transferred 90 credits) and continue to a (CACREP accredited) Masters program for Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Due to strict licensing requirements it is also very important to look at the Masters program you are interested in BEFORE you start/finish your BA in Psych. Check out the standard GPA and requirements etc. AND also if the Masters program has the proper accreditation. In my case, CACREP (Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs.) The APA (American Psychological Association ) accredits PhD programs and is now moving toward Masters programs accreditation as well. C's may get degrees but won't get you into a huge amount of master's programs. You can be "provisionally" accepted into a Masters's program before you finish your BA. so know your intended Masters's Program start dates, etc.
Planning to do this and then transfer all credits to Umpi for the yourpace Psychology degree. Hoping it works out and will lead to be accepted to a masters program. Thanks for this info!
Ignore him (quite rude), my transfer equivalent’s are straight from the Studydotcom Transfer page itself, with the courses aligning with the Psychology Curriculum from UMPI: study.com/college/school/umpi.html?src=ppc_adwords_nonbrand&rcntxt=aws&crt=696781820795&kwd=umpi%20study%20com&kwid=kwd-2175724014700&agid=160774506163&mt=e&device=m&network=g&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADjpCfSZDKIqfIXQTUz6E_3gHjy-S&gclid=CjwKCAiAmrS7BhBJEiwAei59iyyZkOkXHwOrUKQ5HNWEyYrVSLi8r0oFMY7hPovW_5S9F1wJrOkcshoCvJ4QAvD_BwE To put your mind at ease, shoot UMPI an E-Mail.
Does anyone watching this have firsthand experience with the UMPI YourPace PSYCH program? I'm just curious how the courses are arranged and how you work through the material.
Does the Psychology degree not require 10 upper level courses in total?
