Thank you for the feedback! 😁👍🏻 I might have to go search out a 4 runner. I can't remember the last one it did. I'll put that one on my list of vehicles to keep an eye out for. 👍🏻
Yeah, i bet that would help. I'm guessing it requires pulling the whole rear deck, right? I don't like pulling things apart. Plus, these tools fit back there really well.
All I have to do is grab the brake light push up pull back, spin it and unplug it. I do these cars every week. I don’t like taking things apart either, but this makes it so much easier of an install with very little effort to take out. I really do appreciate all your videos. Also, I always pick up something that I could tweak my install with. and I really appreciate how you explain things as you’re going along with your install other peoples videos to show you how to do it, but don’t explain why.
I haven’t had the pleasure yet (sarcasm!). We just worked on a Land Cruiser today-it’s an undercover vehicle, and they requested the camera be removed and not reinstalled. I can already tell these cameras are going to be a huge pain! My guess is that the best approach might be to remove the camera, tint the window, and then reinstall it. I used the same tools I typically use for removing badging to take the camera off the windshield. Here is a link to the tool amzn.to/4fNhlWJ
My first tint in a few years. Lessons learned, don't try to shrink tint with a hair dryer, NOPE it does not work. Then when you switch over to a heat gun, well you know what happens.... Had the tint fold over and crease, dumpster time. Then the other side went on perfect, what the heck. It's the same window in reverse. Thanks for the video, I always learn something new.
Oh no! I've never tried a hair dryer. Seems like it wouldn't get hot enough. Was it on the corvette? Sometimes, we get our butt's kicked because we thought it was a good idea to get out of bed and do something. 🤣😂
@@EncorePPFtint Yup, I was worried it would burn the tint. I switched over to the heat gun and the tint shrank just like it does in your video. Then I had the bottom corner lift up off the window. I hit it with the heat gun and in seconds it shriveled up like a ball of used wax paper. You covered that a few times, so much for me being a fast learner LOL !
All the knowledge in the world can't keep you from having thar issue every time! 🤣😂 Every once and awhile that gets me as well, and faster than you can react, you are wondering what the hell just happened!
Thanks for the video! Is there any advantage over use a glove vs a mactac felt card for heat shrinking? Also when pre shrinking for side windows are you blowing air under the film to shrink it? Thanks and have a great day!
Great questions! I believe that there is less possibility of creasing the film with a glove. Also, i feel the glove puts less pressure on the film, which should help things that aren't quite shrunk enough pop back up. I do not blow air under the film. I am trying to point the heat gun almost just below the bottom edge of the film. We only want to shrink the film at the very bottom. 👍🏻

I got my 2025 Camry done with tint , but now I see a prism glare of light from light on the defroster lines on the rear window. Its very annoying at night. Why do you suppose that is? Have you heard of that?
Yes, this is normal. As the film contours around the defroster lines, it creates a U shapes with the film. This u shape catches the headlights on each defroster line. Unfortunately, this is the nature of window tint on rear windows. It can be annoying at times, but you do get used to it pretty quickly. 👍🏻
Same thing happened to my camry my tint place said they'll redo it but does it happen to all 2025 camrys am I waisting my time redoing it or does it go away after time
@ hey. For me I realized the camry already has the problem with or without the tint! It can make it worse , but its already there. I found out because I looked after it was removed and I drove it around after cleaning the window. Still had it. Its the defroster lines.
I think your best bet is to put a paper towel over your finger or a bondo card and push down the film down around each defroster line. So, run the bondo card over the defroster line from left to right and see if you can minimize the problem. No matter what you do, including replacement, you are still going to have this problem where you can see the headlights reflact off each of the defroster lines. You do get used to it. The thicker the defroster lines and thicker the film, and the more of an angle your rear window is at, the more you'll see this. All of my cars have this. I'm going to pay attention and see how much I notice this in my truck.
Yes. I wouldn't recommend going too dark. The darker films will absorb more heat and radiate it into the car. You'll feel that heat on your head. 👍🏻 With these ceramic films, you don't need to go darker in order to get great inferred heat rejection and standard heat rejection. 😁
@@EncorePPFtint thank you I had my windshield done and it’s fantastic. Cut the heat 👍 I will do the roof the same. Thank you 2025 Camry xse pearl white
There are a lot of years of experience that go into deciding whether or not certain things need to be covered in a specific vehicle. I'm not sure exactly what on this vehicle you are referring to. Covering some things actually gives you a higher probability of damaginging things with water. Or it can make the installation more difficult and that causes more imperfections in the finished product. 👍🏻😁
I’m looking for some advice for my 2025 Camry. My state has a 50% for fronts and any% everywhere else. Should I split, or get them all 50%? I’ve never had my windows tinted before
@@EncorePPFtint thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, my state law limits me to 50% on the front windows, but I’m allowed any% on the back windows. So since I have to get 50% in the front, should I just get 50% to match in the back? Or would it look weird if I went really dark in the rear windows with 50% in the front
@ImEgotistical 50% on the fronts is fine. 50% on the rest is very light. I'd go darker on the back windows. It's really personal preference, though. Are you looking for privacy (15%) or just a touch of class (35%). 35%, you can tell that it's tinted, but it's still pretty easy to see in.

That back window just might fit on a 24" roll. If you are cutting the film by hand, you just might be able to sneak that rear window onto that roll. So I'd say... yes. But it's going to be very close.
All is good.. but I, as a brand new car owner, would be very frustrated that you did not even cover seats and panels with something to protect them from scratches and moisture. Especially that jbl speaker on the rear panel..
I appreciate the thoughts. In theory, they sound like great ideas. If you try to implement them, you end up causing bigger problems than you were trying to avoid. This is a topic I could speak on for a long time. I've put a ton of energy and thought into this process. 👍🏻
