Some days I can hit high notes better than other days. Hydration, sleep, stress levels, and overall vocal strain has such an impact. He's an incredible singer who knows his voice well and likely didn't want to strain his voice given the intensity of the concert. Even after a round of karaoke my voice isn't in top shape, so just imagine a whole concert set!

BTS don't have background vocals because Jk IS the background vocals with all the harmonization and adlibs he's doing. The only 2 times I remember Jk's voice crack was when he was still young and those 2 instances were normal because he was in his late puberty. I guess we'll never truly know why Jk didn't sing this part. I truly think he could have still sang that part at this state because this part while still quite challenging is not straining (chest to start then transition to mixed head voice). Maybe he expected the audience to sing it like some comments are suggesting. Regardless, I know without a shadow of doubt that he could have easily sang this part if his voice wasn't tired.
