In the last year i became fully converted from Adidas fan boy to the Church of Nike. In large part due to the fact i mostly play on artificial surfaces these days. The best thing about all these Nike boots, are you can get them in REAL AG stud pattern at Elite quality! (my knees thank you Mr NIKE) My personal faves would be the GX AG, then Tiempo AG, then any of the Zoom tech boots. (yes even with AG you get a full Zoom unit) The only thing i wish they did was Griptech GX on a Turf model. Just like with adidas predators when you get to turf the tech you want disappears. Yes i know its a price point, but still in the summer most pitches are sooo dry. i know im old and i value my knees but still i'd love a proper GX tech turf boot. Anyhows, top review. Spot on honesty, as i own all of these. Future wise, I would love to see a summer season Turf or MG review shoot out of any or all the brands. :D
Hard to market a flagship feature that you can’t see. People who are into boots knew about it, but the vast majority of consumers had no idea it even existed. Phantom Vision never sold particularly well either.
@@Soccerreviewsforyou Hey Josh, I've been wearing barefoot shoes for a couple of months. I wondered what your opinion is on barefoot soccer boots? Companies such as Code Footwear make barefoot soccer boots and I've wondered if they are any good for the price.
Hi Jim, I've been loving my Tiempo Legend 7 AG for many years but now they're finally starting to break. I'm looking for a new pair with the same feeling that works on both AG and FG. Is the Legend 9 the best option or is there another alternative I should consider? Thanks for all the great videos!
Currently have both a pair of 7s and 9s. They feel different - the cushioned heel counter of the 7 is lost in the 9s, and the 9s upper is noticeably thicker/padded and does not mold as much as my 7s have. That being said, I would advise going with the Tiempo 9s over something like an Adidas Pure if you normally prefer the fit/feel of Tiempos. The 9s make a name for themselves while also keeping the classic feel you find in all Tiempos. In my opinion, the 7s did the best job blending the tech found in a Mecurial with the comfort and functionality of leather boots. Haven't tried the brand yet, but I think Mizuno might offer the best options for a leather boot that maintains the same balance of tech and comfort the 7s had.
For some reason the stud pattern on the GX causes me blisters under the arch of my feet - perfectly identical as circular where the last conical stud on the forefoot just presses into my arch and rubs. So weird.
I have SUPER wide feet and am wondering whichout of the phantom gx or the puma future ultimate is better? Also how much sole separation is ok within one month?
Hey, I'm currently looking forward to buying my first leather football boots, which has a better touch? The Tiempo Legend 7 Pro or the Tiempo Legend 9 Pro? I personally like the tech that is in the 7 Pro but I mainly want to know which has a better touch.
Tiempo 7s we’re one of my favorite cleats I’ve worn and I’ve worn them all. I had the all black version and my team all copped them we had like 7 players with them. They are good boots for sure. I’d say they’re better than the 9s especially look wise imo. Go to soccer west and try them on!
I actually tried all of them and ended up buying the NIKE PRMIER 3, there's something about them that it just feel nice and natural like being barefoot If that makes any sense, amazing
@@chanchaniceman I might as well be the exception. And over 10 years later I still wear Mercurials. And I had my fair share and shake at Tiempos and Mizunos. Legend 7, 8, and 9. With a Rebula Cup MiJ and Neo 3 Beta Elite over the years. Totally awesome boots (yep even you Legend 8 Elite), had a very good experience in them all. Kinda wanted the Rebula 3 to, but I couldn’t get them. They stuck me as the Mizuno take on the venerable Legend 7. Anyways, I just really like Mercurials and have been a big fan of them since the Vapor 8. Simply put I find the snug caressing fit along with near paper thin uppers the Vapors to be very enjoyable and a rewarding experience. I know it’s not for everyone, but it doesn’t have to be.
Hey josh, I have been looking at getting a pair of the new Phantoms. A few others that have reviewed them have said the fit and lockdown of the df is better than the lows. Is this true?
I have used both for about 2-3 weeks and can confirm they feel more or less the same. Great boots, both offer good lockdown but ofc not as good as mercurials for example.
@@lodju4318 hey I have a wide foot and I was thinking about getting a mercurial but I don’t think it would fit me right so is the phantom a good option?
@@dieidkfmjeke444 If fit is the only concern, it's a good option. But if you're looking for something that delivers an experience more closely resembling the typical speed boot, it's better to look at other options, like the Speedflow, NB Furon wide, and even the Puma Future Ultimate, which is not technically Puma speed boot silo, but their updated stud pattern makes it very aggressive.
No idea why people don’t moan about the gx sizing. I am normally an 8 in tiempos but the boot is too long. You definitely notice it. Tried 7.5 and it’s way too tight across the toe box.
The prefect boot would Exterior side of upper phantom vision, interior tiempo, air soleplate superfly/vapor but in conical studs layout, and flyknit tongue
Hey could you please do a review of the Natur Athletics Iron Lion Cleats? They are a new wide toe football boot, I would like to know if they work well for football, thanks

Unisport did a review for this for the Neo 3 Betas. Consensus is, there are noticeable differences in quality and feel between each tier, but all three of them are top notch boots at their price points, with the Elites being the best value for money between the three tiers

I loved the phantom vsn’s and the lace cover, I play gk so the lace cover made sense cause it made sure my laces stayed tied, so I could see that being a reason why they have it on the gx, I lean more towards the ones with the lace cover
How does playing GK differ from any other position on the field in terms of laces being tied? If anything a GK is less likely to have their laces loosen since they’re not moving as much
Personally the vapor 15's are way too stiff and narrow for me, as an avid vapor 12, 13, and 14 lover. Hoping the 16 can improve that a bit while keeping the air zoom unit.
The Vapor 13 and 14 are two boots that do everything right (as far as Mercurials or lightweight “speed” boots go). I like the Vapor 15, but not as much as the last two. Vapor 12 was a good performer to, despite the controversial changes at the time and graphics. But I think I like the 15 better.
I absolutely just love the LOOK of the GX. This is the first silo that I want the low’s since the collar first came in 2014

Most of Adidas AG stud patterns are such a joke. The Speedportals literally keep the same chevron studs, with just the addition of a couple more
The colourway of those tiempos is one of the nicest ever imo

Joe, why do you think they ditched quadfit? I really liked it in the phantom visions and it seems like it would work well in the GX
