Hey guys! I hope you enjoyed this SOUL-CRUSHING story of how the original Super Mario Bros movie was a huge disappointment seeing it in the theater back in 1993. Who's going to see the new Super Mario Bros movie this week?! Let me know. Thanks for watching!
I’m going today after my job interview! Hoping it’ll be a good movie! :)
I plan on seeing it sometime on the weekend hopefully when I have time
i did not see the movie in theater but on vhs but i was in the cinema with my mom for jurrasic park the new movie is gona be lit
Hi Tyler. I'll be taking my son who has just received a Gameboy Advance SP and a copy of Super Mario World for his 10th birthday. He is really into Super Mario World right now between bouts of Minecraft and Roblox. Will be taking him to see the movie on Friday.
I’m going tonight.
I can't believe how much footage your dad made. Everything. Insane.
@@X-Cactus OK. Thanks!
I wish there was a way I could see the old theater that I used to visit as a little kid again. We don't have any videos of trips to the theater there at all and it isn't even there anymore.
they dont.. his dad just invented a time machine
Growing up rich in the 90s, recording things was a sign of wealth. My auntie was this kind of rich in the 90s and she had a video camera also. If you’re spending almost $1000 and over on a video recorder he better believe we’re going to record everything.
It’s… incredible
Your channel is the closest thing I’ll ever get to a Time Machine. We’re around the same age so seeing stuff like this really takes me back.
it's all games tho... Still cool
I just turned 38, I totally agree!!
I have my season 1 DVD box set of the super show signed by Lou. I met him at big apple con years ago. He was at a point where he could barely speak but once I gave him the DVD to sign, he chuckled. His daughter told me, he was happy that people still appreciate that show. Still one of my favorite moments in my existence.
What an amazing story and keepsake you have of meeting Captain Lou! Wish I could have met him
Super Mario Bros. Super Show is a bad show. All my classmates in the 3rd and 4th grade used to say it sucked. The Link episodes were better. But glad you met Lou Albano before he passed.
@@TeamDaemon1980 there was no need to be negative here😅
Honestly Dan you’ve lucky to have met a cool guy (well I assume he was cool 🤷♀️ Phelous is the one that introduced the show to me, filling me with intrigue)
@@TeamDaemon1980 don’t listen your classmates then. Also it was completely unnecessary to say it’s a bad show🤦♀️ you can dislike it but that’s just mean
I love that you get to take your daughter to a Super Mario movie exactly 30 years after your dad did the same with you. In the words of George Lucas "You see the echo of where it's all gonna go, it's like poetry, they rhyme"
whats funny is his reaction to the super mario movie is kinda how i felt when i saw the phantom menace in theaters when i was 7. although i wasn't devastated like tyler was, i remember being rather bored and dissapointed with the movie after it had been hyped up so much. i had seen the original trilogy a few years prior when the 1997 special edition box sets came out, so when the new prequel movie was being teased, i was very hyped, expecting it to be like the original movies, but the final product felt nothing like starwars to me, and i found the movie to be kinda forgettable.
@@helenhomunculus5044 Damn that sucks I always personally liked the phantom menace but I hope you atleast liked revenge of the sith.
@@starlit2135 i thought revenge of the sith was cool, that movie was alot more fun to watch than the first two prequels
Its not exactly 30 years.. close tho
"Hopefully it'll work"
Not gonna lie, I was super about this movie when it came out. Something about it really did it for me even though it wasn't Mario. I saw it a few times in the theater and ended up buying my rented copy from my local video store. My grandpa and I couldn't stop quoting it.
Cause it can be a entertaining movie when you just sit and watch it and don’t compare it to the game
@@yveltalpoderoso1303 It's fun bad
I finally saw the Super Mario Bros animated movie a few days ago. I got a little teary-eyed because that was the movie I wanted back when I was a kid.
I do remember this movie when it came out. It was so weird and off putting compared to what I expected as a child. Still a classic lol
A classic in the sense that it was soo bad lol
I remember the whole Super Mario brothers movie as a advertisement for Pepsi and Reebok. 😂
You nailed it.
I was 14, but I was so let down. I have been a Mario fan since the original, and I was so crushed.
But this past year, I got to take my 9-year old, who is also a passionate Mario fan. And it was a great experience. We had a blast and I feel like it made up for what happen to all of us as kids.
I saw an interview with Seth Rogen promoting the new movie and he said that he was very disappointed with the live action Mario movie when he was a kid. He said that he wanted to make sure the new generation wouldn't be disappointed by the new Mario movie the way he was with the live action film which I found very touching. He also said that if the new one was the one he saw as a kid it would've been a different story.
I saw it once in 93 at the theatres. Its been 30 years. I remember they also released cards on the Super Mario bros movie from Topps. I had mixed feelings but i enjoyed it somewhat. 😂
I hope the 2023 version doesn't suck for you and your daughter.
I was 18 when the first was released, so had sort of was interested in different things by that time in my life, so I have never seen it. I also was into more modern video games at the time like SNES and or the PlayStation.
That ending was so heartwarming and I love the way you end these videos it’s not easy to end a video
Saw the original one in the 93', last saturday I took my daughter to see the new one...needless to say WE LOVED IT! So amazing, I can relate to your story so much. Big hugs from a gaming dad.
PS: I got a little emotional in the ending part of this video, damn I'm gettin old!
I just recently discoverd your videos. And cant stop watching them, because im into gaming as well, but more soo, the documentation your dad made, your life as a kid, reminded me of mine, as I grew up during the same time.
Your father is absolutely amazing…that will never end.It reminds me soo much of my time growing up , as I mentioned.
Just seeing what your dad did…for you growing up.
A day ago, i finally saw the dedication at the end of one of your videos, showing that he is here in spirit
It tore my guts clean out
Who Framed Roger Rabbit is all absolute GEM!! That movie will live on forever, it's aged fantastically. Super Mario Bros, not so much lol 🤣
It helped birth an MMORPG, too!
There's actually a growing amount of individuals that think WFRR was overrated. I am not one of them, but it's true.
@@SidNightWalker Next thing you're going to tell me is that Star Wars is overrated, what is it with people calling popular media overrated?
@@PrinceFloof eh, what can you say, a lot of people think they have intelligence and their reasoning is valid, even when it's clear their rationale is incoherent at best. There's nothing particularly new about that, but now they can yell really loudly in a very public way thanks to the internet. Incoherently.
@@SidNightWalker Everyone deserves a voice, but not everyone deserves I microphone, lol
I did watch it back in 93 and was vastly disappointed as well, I do own the movie now on DVD 😂
I’m so sad for those who didn’t get to see the 2023 version. I hope they can watch it in heaven :). Also I bet the 2023 movie healed the wounds of many who’ve seen the 1993 movie.
Well done. I'm in tears. You really captured it all. I can relate to the disappointment when the first SMB movie came out and sharing in our nostalgia with our children. SMB really spans generations. Pretty amazing stuff. Thanks for your content, I've really been enjoying it.
Your dad said, “the HECK with anti-piracy laws! We’re capturing this as a family!” 😂
I'm just glad we have a Mario movie now that actually feels like Mario, even if it took us 30 years of waiting for it to happen!
this is a great day for all the nintendo generation it is been a long time since i was hype for a movie
can t wait to watch it this weekend
Same bro! Can't wait to take my daughter. :-)
We’re about the same age and you painted a very accurate picture of my experience as well. I remember trying to be optimistic about it and the only thing I remember from the movie where I thought “Cool, that’s from a Mario game!” was the little bob-omb. That’s it!
I also gotta say your videos are outstanding! So cool that you have such a large collection of home videos to bring us back to that era. Your dad seemed like an amazing guy too!
I watched this with my grandfather and we were both disappointed. He kept asking me if I wanted to bail....but we watched it thru....
And now, like you...I'm the parent...and I took my girls to see the new movie. And it was loved by all. Even my grandad ❤
The new one looks so good.
I remember my aunt calling me to go over and watch the movie when I was 7 as well. Soul crushing
Went to the premiere of the 1993 movie and couldn't understand for the life of me what I was seeing. Totally with you on that one and so amazed at the experiences you've had with your dad ❤
I didn't watch it in theaters but did when it was released on VHS. I was just as disappointed as you were. But I am so glad that you get to take your daughter to see the version we should have gotten. It's amazing to see that you're carrying on the gaming tradition with her...I love it Tyler.
I saw it in theaters when I was 13 & I remember not hating nor even disliking to be honest, didn't love it either, but at least got entertained
"And that just put a big smile on my face"....(then proceeds NOT to smile) LMAO...Great video but the ending had me laughing
When I went to the Mario movie premiere two days ago, all those kids in the theater, had the experience you _should’ve_ had 30 years ago.
The only good thing about that movie is Jack Black portraying a perfect Bowser. That's about it.
@@SidNightWalker Speak for yourself, I found much more of the movie enjoyable than just Jack Black’s performance as Bowser.
LOL 100%. I was around the same age and we watched it at a birthday party with a bunch of other kids. We were all horrified. The "koopa" transformation was terrifying hahaha.
I saw this movie as a kid and I didn't care if it was different from the video games we grew up with. I still love it to this day!
And I can't wait to see the new mario bros movie too!
Yeah same here. I think at that age I couldn't tell the difference between good or bad movies. Just the fact that it was on the big screen was enough.
@@191desperado I always loved those rocket shoes in that movie. When I was a kid I always wished I had those rocket shoes. I thought they were awesome! 😅
Same here, I remember knowing it was different, and that I didn't understand it completely - but I wasn't disappointed really. I must have went in with no expectations. I do remember thinking it was weird that king koopa was just a dude.
yep, i dont get all these crying kids. it was such a fun movie.
@@justinnewman5533 it's been nearly 3 decades and people are still crying about this movie! Just because the movie was different from the game doesn't mean its awful.
Kinda sad really! Smh
Been watching random ass videos from 70’s-90’s on youtube as early as 2015. Your channel is hands down one of my favorite ones ive found.
Man I can't manage to watch one of your videos without halfway or at the end be all sentimental and reflecting on my past , thank you , No retro dad with me only Grand parents and mother , but now My little guy will get to experience what I missed.
I don't have kids, but the emotion you're expressing with taking your daughter to the new movie is poignant as hell. Any Mario fan can relate.
This video was well done man! I actually teared up when you talked about how the roles are now reversed, and that now is the time where you may get to see Mario done right with your daughter. That was beautiful man! I hope it goes well for y’all! Much love!
When you said now your the father taking your kids hit me in the heart. I’m the parent too….. crazy how time goes
A very good line in the video For me, that doesn’t apply since I don’t believe that I will end up as a parent, but you know what who knows Time will tell
I know how you feel. The betrayal (for the fans of the games) is unbearable to this day!
P.S.
I really liked the ending of the video. Very cool and hopeful 👍🏼
Not gonna lie I have a nostalgia blast watching the Mario bros movie idk why but I enjoy the hell outta it lol
Likewise lol
please tell me you're not serious that you liked this garbage and yet think my show is terrible.
the only reason it's hated because mr leguizamo is being racist to the new version
@@ryan24a73 as well as because it's a piece of crap of a movie.
@@_captain_N okay how was the new movie by the way i saw it now i want your perspective
Whoa I actually caught one of your videos early. I just wanted to comment and say your channel literally became my favorite youtube channel in like a week. It brings back to many memories for me in both the games and the actual times just from looking at that old 90s era camera footage. I hope you can and will continue to make content. I seriously don't know why you don't have 5+ million subscribers or something bro, but keep it up and I bet you will. Wish you all the best and please don't stop this channel haha.
Outstanding video. I just remember my dad renting it and me and my brothers being so excited to finally see it. I don’t remember much but it didn’t hold our attention and we only watched like 10 min. And we were shocked that it was nothing like what we were expecting. Anyhow, once again, your father and his timeless footage comes through again!
I can confirm that the 2023 Mario Bros kicks too much ass. I'll be buying on Blu Ray and downloading to every device i own.
Pretty much the same story as you Tyler. My Dad took my friend and I, we were super pumped and then couldn’t believe the garbage that we were watching.
I have high hopes for this one, hopefully not another disappointment!
Who Framed Roger Rabbit is still one of my absolute favorite movies of all time!!
Still angry they cancelled the prequel to keep funding the vastly oevr-budgeted Pearl Harbor.
@@Larry they did?😅
@@Larry at least we got "Cool World" ;;)
I know someone said this but i like how much footage your dad and family in general have of the family and to top it off with the editing music and work YOU put in is stupendous youve been on the grind so keep it up good sir and keep retro gaming alive
I remember watching this movie for the first time in 1998 on TV, when I was 9 or 10 years old. I was a big Mario Fan and back then I didn't even know there was a Live-Action Movie. I was sitting in my room and watching TV, when suddenly a spot comes that anounces Super Mario Mario Bros. The Movie was about to start in 10 Minutes or so. I fast searched for a VHS to record it, sat down and watched it.
Well, it was not what I expected, but my heart wasn't crushed, only disappointed. The best thing of the movie was Bob Hoskins as Mario. He was great, looked perfect and his costume at the end was brillant. Everything else was bad.
I liked both movies for what they were worth. I just love Super Mario Bros.
I was around the same age and I saw it in vhs for the first time. I just couldn’t understand what this was 😂 thanks for an awesome video
Glad you enjoyed it!
I LOVED YOUR LATEST VIDEO OF THE SEGA MASTER SYSTEM. I collected it in 1996 with my Mom and DAD (I already owned a Sega Saturn and Mega Drive) I even have some Brazilian Games like Mortal Kombat 3 and Street Fighter 2 and Sonic 3D and the Smurfs 2 on it that where release between1996-1997. So those games where actually very new at the time. I see so much resembles between your family and my and the passion we had for it (also for the more older rare consoles). I am serious our family where almost 2 from 1 coin. We from Europe (The Netherlands) and you from USA haha. I really love your video and keep it up.
Also the Turbo Grafx I collected at the end of the '90. Unfortunately i sold that one together with my whole Atari and SNK AES collection (i stil got the Neo Geo Pocked and full game library)
As I said there are so much resembles between your retro life and my... it's actually scary!! But I almost got a FULL Master System collection at my house (only missing a few games)
Hey Brotha, I too have a young daughter(s) of my own & it’s so special to be able to give them the childhood we had and also always wanted to have. Keep on being the best Dad in the world
I've always liked the OG movie for what it was. Surprisingly I never was looking for a game 1:1 adaptation, even at age 6 when it came out.
right bro? just enjoyed it for what it was, not like these neckbeards who think they are movie buffs that collect thousands of dollars in marvel figures.
@@banditmining564 Oh shut up lmao. Even as a standalone movie it was laughable. Especially when you compare it to the monster that was Jurassic Park. Just say you're mad that you can't afford to have anything cool and move on lmao.
The movie is forgettable to say the least.
You were smart even back then I suppose.
@@leezy7028 forgettable? I haven't seen it in years and I still remember everything as clear as day. You can't really say that about a movie that unique and be believable.
I feel like i was the only 8 year old back then that liked the movie! seriously felt like I was the only one lol
Haha it's OK you are definitely not alone.
I'm surprised you and your dad did not saw the previews before watching this film in theaters. That's the reason why I skipped the movie in theaters back in 1993. I remember watching the previews back in 1993 on TV and thought they look so bad!
When I watched this film for the first time, I too was completely caught off guard with that intro. I legitimately thought I was watching the wrong film, it was completely ridiculous. If nothing else, Illumination's Super Mario Bros. was a much more faithful adaptation and a much more enjoyable product. If I watched it as a kid, I know I would have loved it.
I was 8 years old when the 93 movie was out. I actually enjoyed it. I still don't think it's as bad as everyone makes it out to be. The movie is so out there, original and strange.. and i loved that.
30 years latter they remake a better one i saw this movie in 2017 i was like what the fuck is this shit!? but at the same time i like how they had the 1993 movie set up but it was trash and wired an kind of funny at the same time
Double dragon and SMB movies are on par with each other’s sh!tiness haha
dont forget street fighter with van dame
Indeed. I forgot about that movie and game.
I love seeing old movie theater footage or movie theater stories of people going to the movies in the past. Hope you got more of these
I actually loved the movie as a kid, weirdly enough. The fact it had nothing to do with the games was actually kind of cool to me for some reason (I was a dumb kid)
yeah, it's like going to see a Pokemon movie and it's just all dogs named pokemon names.
The thing with the 1993 film is that it felt like it was made in similar vein to The Terminator and Robocop, but done horribly.
This movie was complete trash I am happy we got a real movie for 2023 thank God and more on the way that's how it should have been done
I feel every sentiment in this video, i was a HUGE mario fan back when the film was released and it was a historic letdown. But as an adult, in recent years i re watched it and found it charming in a way, now we are lucky to have a real SMB movie that blew my mind at the theater just the other day, now with my kids, we enjoyed it immensely.
Im grateful for how bad it was in 1993, only cause they had to truly nail it this time and the pressure was on. After seeing it in theaters I have no complaints on the new movie. They did the franchise justice 🍿 🎥 👏
That's so wild. I get that it was kinda a let down that it wasn't much like the games but I remembering most all of us kids having fun with it as far as I could tell. Definitely don't remember anyone as a kid being "soul crushed". But now everyone seems to of changed their tunes. Strange.
it was definitely weird when I saw it as a kid. If those giant guys were goombas, it was weird that they were giants. I think "myretrolife" (I dunno if he wants to be referred to his name on this channel or not) is right that a roger rabbit style that incorporated cartoon characters as well might have made some people like it more.
your videos always make me feel so so nostalgic. love your content!!
My son and I collect video games, watch every episode of yours. He is 7 and today, we are going to see Super Mario in the theaters today. I have faith again that this will be good.
Thanks for watching Jason. I feel that way too
There's always a 75% chance I'm gonna have wet eyes by the time your video is over. I was born in 92. Youngest of 4 kids. So many parallels in our childhoods. Thank you so much for your content.
Oh, my goodness! Your channel is one of kind! Your dad was king! He was such a visionary! Rest in peace good sir! What a great video, thank you so much!!!
Not only did I see the movie in the theater, I saw it at the Cinema 8 in Rosenberg, Texas that was featured in your video! Surprisingly enough, I thought the movie was terrible, but my father liked it!
Being a kid from the 80's/90's and also loving everything Nintendo, this movie crushed every fiber in my being as well. Fast forward to 2023, and I took my 8 year old son to see the new one. We both got to experience a wonderful adaptation of our beloved characters. That day felt like a second chance for the kid inside me as well. Love what you do Tyler, and thanks for sharing these intimate memories.
I have watched this channel for 3 years and you made me a retro gamer thank U.
I, too, have memories watching that movie back in 1993. In retrospect, despite its flaws -- and there were many -- I feel that it is an underappreciated cult classic. 'Til the day he died, Bob Hoskins hated how the movie was being directed -- but I give him credit for being a professional and working with the material he had.
The fact, that, 30 years after that original movie, the super Mario brothers franchise will finally be realized as a faithful adaptation to the video game, brings a smile to my face. The new movie is one that is going to be shared with future generations for all time.
I really like the movie. Still watch it from time to time. I'm definitely a OG Nintendo fan being born 1980... and when the end credits teaser came up, I was ready for part 2.
I recently bought a mini retro pc where I can play all the old games I remember. I started watching your videos as a result of doing some research into games I may have missed when younger and some older ones I don't remember. Your videos remind me off a video game era Wonder Years....
I remember watching this Mario film and feeling the same disappointment. The new film is brilliant and is good for kids and adults yaaay. Thanks for your videos, I still play with my dad now online and I feel sad you cant do that anymore. Keep up the good work x
At the time in 1993 I was 4 or 5 years old and my Dad took me to go see it. I remember my Dad and I liking it but, it was quickly forgotten as Jurassic Park took over that next following week. As for the movie now I still love it because my Dad and I still to this day say "Go, go, go, go, go!" and lock hands. It is something special between us and all these years later it still is like that even on jobsites in front of people we don't care. The new Mario film is amazing and great service to the fans they crammed as much and as many nods too us as possible in the new movie. I hope you enjoy it when you go see it as much as my nephew and I did.
Hollywood couldn’t make a video game adaptation to save its life. We had to wait 38+ years for a REAL Mario movie.
Then what did we just get recently last year
I'm glad you saw Jurassic Park as a palate cleanser a week after
Loving your vids man! This just brings many many good memories from my childhood :), keep it up!
Had the same experience for TMNT 3😂😅.. taking my daughter to go see the movie on Saturday
I love your videos man, my Dad was in and out of my life but he bought me my Nintendo 64 and that thing damn near raised me practically at six years old, i'm looking forward to the day I can have some kids of my own and get into video games with them.
I can literally feel your pain lol ! My brother and sister told me not to watch it 😂, thank you big bro and sis. That movie looks like nightmare fuel 😢
It’s fairly good as long as you don’t think of it as a “true Mario movie” kinda like an alternate universe
@@CandiedC movies arrive a year later or so to our territory (welcome to the 3-1) and watched Jurassic Park first and Mario later. Everything made sense to me in that order
Talking about you finally getting the movie you wanted, and talking about your daughter made me tear up 😭
That last part of the video gave me the feels... my father passed on too.
Man.... who's cutting onions in here..
Your childhood was amazing and I love all the nostalgia of your UA-cam channel.
My mind is just constantly blown that you have this type of footage from all these major events 🤯🤯🤯. So cool.
I honestly don’t really remember disliking it. I legit can’t really remember though. All I know is I’ll be seeing the 2023 movie this Friday! Let’s a gooooo
I am sorry that this movie crushed your childhood dreams. I never saw it as a kid because it looked strange in trailer on TV and all the kids I knew had nothing but bad things to say about it. I was still very disappointed and like you, I wanted a Super Mario Bros movie that was true to the games/cartoons. The first time I saw this movie a few years ago (I still found the movie bizarre and disappointing) at my friend's house who is my age and he grew up liking the movie and my guess is that it's because my friend didn't play video games growing up. My friend was actually quoting all kinds of lines from the movie while we watched it. The Super Mario Bros movie that comes out today really does look exactly like the Mario Bros movie we all dreamed of back in the day. It's amazing how things come full circle and I'm happy for you that now you get to take your daughter to see what is very likely going to be a fantastic movie and give her those great memories.
You Just won a New follower! Man I was there, and this video of yours hits just the right buttons! I feel soooo lucky about it! Your video really made me smile! Lots of luck with your next videos, I ll look forward to watch them!
I just found your channel and I love it. I also play from NES era and just feel your stories. I wish you many more subs and the really best, you are a good retro story teller.
Oh, I distinctly remember seeing this movie in the theater, and was completely baffled when we left after the movie was over.
I saw the 1993 Super Mario Bros in the drive-in with a double feature of Sandlot. I went for Mario, but left with a lifelong love for Sandlot which I hadn't heard of going in, so it's not all bad.
I wish this guy was my dad and I'm only like 7 or 8 years younger. Take me in dude! Life will pretty much be the same, you'll just have another mouth to feed come thanksgiving.
I saw it in 93 I liked it for what it's worth definitely not what we expected but it has its moments and some charm I think the production being a nightmare didn't help . I'm glad you get to experience the new movie with your children I too am lucky enough for that my kid loves Nintendo I teach them all about the retro awesomeness we enjoyed as kids . I wish I would have saved all my boxes and manuals I could retire lol I love you're channel man good stuff . You seem like a good guy and father and I appreciate that the most keep up the good work man you rule
Awesome video tyler ! Funny enough I’m getting out of work early today to watch the new movie with my wife and 7 year old son. Hopefully he’ll remember the experience just like you did bro!!
You are way too good at making me tear up because of your videos. I’m crying because of how bad the original Mario movie was, not because of you now being in that father role. Not at all.
I wasn’t around when this movie came out, but I remember first discovering this movie one day after one of my Mario UA-cam Poop binges circa 2008 and thinking “Oh my god, there’s a movie??? Why didn’t I hear about this?”.
I started watching it (copyright rules were a lot more lax on UA-cam) and was a little excited before ever so slowly being disappointed by just how slow and unrelated it felt to the games or even the infamous shows. I even wondered if I was tricked and thought I was watching a totally different movie, but nope! It was, indeed, *supposed to* relate to Super Mario Bros.
I still haven’t seen it in full, and I don’t plan on it anytime soon. 😂
Its so sad, because the Poor guy (My retro Life), who was being so mad and disappointed at the Super mario Movie, and the movie changes his life. :(
I still love this movie, it probably ranked amongst my favourites as a kid along with The Goonies, Home Alone and Beetlejuice.
You summed it up for all of us and I was thinking the same that it would be like Roger Rabbit... hope the new movie is great! I am so amazed how much you guys documented. I wish I could have... now that we carry cameras, I do now... but I wish I could relive back then... such great times! I was 14 in 1993, one of my favorite years. I didn't see SMB until it came to cable, but I did see Jurassic Park in the theater. The end was so touching! I hope you both like it and it is like you feel.
I'm in my late thirties so i grew up with Mario just like you. I don't have this feeling towards the 1993 movie because i didn't anticipated it that much, didn't see it at theaters, i just saw it on TV when i was a teenager and i thought it was really bad. Yesterday, i brought my two nieces in the theater for the new movie, they're growing up with Mario (and Pokémon, and Animal Crossing... ^^) as well with Switch and 3DS games, and they loved it. Even if i have some mixed feelings about it, i had a smile on my face during the whole thing.
Thank you for your videos they allow me to relive me childhood in a way.
