- This is Joel Werthmuller´s hatchback Monster, a 1.6L Naturally Aspirated Peugeot 106 prepared for both Slalom and Hillclimb Racing and one of the faster E1-1600 Class Cars on the Swiss HillClimb Championship. Using plenty of bespoke bodywork parts and lightened to around 800Kg of weight, this machine takes the Iconic Hot Hatch from PEugeot to new levels.

1.6 N/A engines are really potent when tuned right and easily turn any light car in true pocket rocket.Seen plenty of them and yet i'm always amazed by how fast they are and how skilled and brave their drivers are.And as for video itself,great filming and awesome onboard.
finally a 106 pushed to the limit, have seen in many years plenty of 106 with very good setups but the drivers are afraid this one will clean them all!

106 are prone to snap oversteer at high speeds. This one seems to have a nice diffuser which will help. Which will give the driver more confidence.

@@kozu7213 so do I, set up is wrong. As you can see here a we'll set up 106/Saxo are shocking. Imo I'd say it's more than likely your roads that are at fault. UK roads are left to rot so makes car behave poor....not sure what your government is like but our government like to spend it on their wages and fat pensions rather than the roads/country

Wonderful but unfortunately, this engine is not ideal to make it run at high RPM, because the bore is 78.5mm (80 max possible) and the stroke 82, instead the b16 V-tec honda has 81.0 × 77.4 mm virtually the opposite in fact working at high RPM, It depends engine architecture, not just V-Tec system ...
It was never stated wether this motor is stock or not. Sounds built to me but maybe im wrong
Who told you that you're wrong dude, any 4 cylinder can rev to 10,000 rpms it just need high quality performance parts.
In fact I did not say that it can not run at 10000 rpm, but it is not the ideal engine to develop power at high rpm. I know the TU5J4 in all possible elaboration details, and I can tell you that the maximum performance possible up to 90000 and no more, after it makes no sense it's just nice to feel ....

This is an example of TU5JP4 with a 90000 rpm limiter, six known has much more torque and can afford a longer gearbox, it is better to exit the curve, better uphill, in essence it goes faster, but it makes less scene ...
