Buff Bagwell Reveals Low Testosterone Caused Scott Steiner's Heart Attack

  • From episode 12 of the Macho Mecca Podcast. Buff Bagwell tells a story of the aftermath of Scott Steiner collapsing and being hospitalized for a heart attack in March of 2020. Bagwell reveals that Steiner called him up to inform him that his testosterone levels were sitting at just 4 ng/dl, a dangerously low level and how it may have caused his heart attack. This is likely due to a crashed endocrine system after years of anabolic steroid use. Bagwell recommended a testosterone replacement therapy doctor to get Steiner's levels back to normal and improve his health.

      @@colberthunter12 Steroids had nothing to do with Lugers condition. And buff is still bigger then your average out of shape 60 year old. So before you blame steroids because you obviously know jack shit about them maybe learn why Luger is the size he is idiot. On October 19, 2007, Luger suffered a nerve impingement in his neck that led to temporary paralysis. In an unconfirmed report it was stated that he underwent an intravenous antibiotic treatment and was expected to make a full recovery. Though that was never an official prognosis.[129] Nearly a month after his spinal stroke, Luger was still in a quadriplegic state, having no movement in either his arms or legs. In June 2008, Luger was said to be able to stand on his own for short periods and walk using a walker.

    Lex hadhad a spinal stroke AFTER having nerve impingement in his neck after years football/wrestling trauma. If his condition was the result of stopping steroids, 90% of NFL/MLB players from the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s would be in the same boat. Stopping steroids doesn't = temporary paralysis. Abuse can cause enlarged heart, liver problems resulting in death. He still is a class act and had great genetics, extreme pain threshold, and a work ethic that most will never experience. I appreciate his sincerity and how he lives his life at this point.

    Yeah, so this finally clears up the whole steroids don't lead to heart attacks debate that was floating around for the past 20 years. Moreover, I think with all the genetically modified foods, pcbs plastics in water, and other pollutants the number that was already low to begin with dwindled further. That's why you've got 23 year olds with testosterone levels of 43 taking testosterone replacement therapy, and they haven't even done roids in their life!

    • @MachoMecca
      @MachoMecca  2 роки тому +10

      There are a number of scientifically proven side effects that steroids cause that 100% affect cardiovascular health negatively. Anyone who says otherwise is lying to themselves. However, low testosterone is unhealthy for your heart as well.

      @@HentaiHappy Not all men are created equal. There are a ton of guys juiced to the gills at most local gyms who look like shit. There are plenty of naturals who look fantastic. When you get to Steiner/Luger/Bagwell size and you're walking around at 230-240+ and single digit bodyfat, you're almost certainly on the gas. Anyone who has trained seriously understands this.

      @@MachoMecca You're right man, I'm at 275-280 pounds, built similar to between the latest build of Miro, and Brian Cage! We definitely don't have to look like Tank Abbot @ 250 without juice. I just don't have the discipline, and money that Buff did to eat extremely healthy. The man used get 55 dollars worth of egg whites each morning at an uptown restaurant. I'd think I'd gack before I eat that much eggs. The bread thing is on and off, I can go 6-8 weeks without it, then I see SUBWAY, and my mouth waters. But, bread is literally poison. I also don't have much luck with rice. If I cut both for 6 weeks, I'm totally ripped. But, my appetite is never satiated.

      @@HentaiHappy No doubt! Definitely changes things when your whole persona and lifestyle can be catered around looking a certain way. Not all of us have the ability to do that. Still, it was certainly impressive given their insane travel schedules and being beat up in the ring. It's funny how people always comment "STEROIDS" on these videos as if there was any other choice. Same goes for the pain pills sadly. There's not injured reserve for wrestlers. You get knocked off, you may never get back on top. No offseason and injuries aren't an option. You can't be "Buff" Bagwell on the road 250 days a year taking bumps and constantly on the move to hotels without some help.
