This man literally started a whole genre. This is why Samurai Champloo is my favorite anime and why Nujabes is a legend.
Sebastian Fernandez is*
I wish they made more soundtracks like that. There are a lot of good anime's out there that could use some NUjazz
I like to call music like Nujabes', "old lofi" or "retro lofi". All the newer lofi is just forgettable with the same old stuff over and over (though it's still pretty good). Nujabes didn't make forgettable and virtually meaningless music which really divides him from the genre he created
@@perhaps5095Totally agree with you. His songs have a certain vibe that new lofi doesn't have. Do you know any other artists that make "old school lofi"? I'm trying to find more music that sounds like Nujabes... 🥺
@@tim99s hmmmm, theres no one that makes music exactly like him, but look up the departure and impression albums, they have nujabes and other artists like him
Of course this opens with Feather. Gotta hook'em quick
who sings this?
@@matheusdiasarruda2515 Cise Star, he's got a couple more songs with Nujabes
@@jj.martin thanks
@@matheusdiasarruda2515 Akin also raps in this
I like when they start with Who's Theme
He never died, he simply became music
that's kinda wholesome
Wholesome or an immature take on death? You decide - age and wisdom will help.
@@johnqpublic2718 hahah what? a nice metaphore about a man's work keeping him relevant and alive in our minds is... immature? ok? this is why people don't invite you to parties
Love this take on him and his music.
Yes indeed brother.
Today is the day, rest in beats.
😓🙏 may his soul rest in peace .
i dont know why but nujabes music makes me cry its not because of sadness though but a melancholic happiness like revisiting memories of my childhood of looking at the sunset at the beach after a long day of playing with my siblings or walking home with my friends after school and talking about the future these were stuff that I took for granted then but now I know how precious they are but i cant go back
There is a word in Portuguese that can perfectly describe your feeling: saudade. This word is very hard to translate even to other Latin languages.
Crying and dancing, only Nujabes.
You never realize the best times of your life (childhood) until it's behind you. The great irony of aging. Realize today is the first day of the rest of your life. See the pattern?
That's a rare and beautiful feeling to gain from a piece of music. Thanks for increasing my own appreciation for this music too.
I shared your sentiment, all the way through with the nostalgia, the sound of rustling leaves and the smell of fresh rain in the air.
I discovered Nujabes after watching Samurai Champloo back in 2013. His music helped me see beauty in life while I was battling depression. It brings joy to me to see that more and more people are finding his sound. If you're reading this I hope you find serenity and strength ❤︎
Thank you
Metoo
we do be workin on it
💜
gracias :)
Yesterday marked 10 years since he passed away... his legacy will always be remembered. Thanks Jun. RIP
I just started listening to this and literally thought it was almost brand new, sooo freaking good
Insane. I was about to be a freshman in high school. Still, one of the saddest days I've had.
Good ol days! I remember when i discover nujabes in 2009 from youtube and the next year he died.. and 4 years later i started to make sample hip hop beats inspired by him.
It should be illegal to make a video like this and deadass just not include Aruarian Dance.
@Shazza Oh yeah that's true, kinda sucks really.
Man fuck copyrights, Nujabes music belongs to the people, free the sound
'deadass' is such a fucking dogshit slang word.
should have added a link to another mix with aruarian dance

Man, we were absolutely robbed when Nujabes passed away. What a legend. Rest in Beats, friend.
They say you die the last time someone says your name. Nujabes is one of the people who will truly live forever.
one piece? haha
@@BadChoiceBro yesss WHen does a man DIE? Its when he/she/they are forgotten.
I guess people with names like James and John will live forever too then.

Counting Stars sampled one of my favorite George Benson cuts the 1976 classic "Affirmation". Check out the George Benson track, you will definitely like it.
Thank you
rip, still listening to his music to this day
And for the forseeable future I have no plans of ever stopping!
we still here
I am so grateful my wife showed me Nujabes when we were in Tokyo together. Hearing his music for the first time In Japan was truly a feeling I will never forget.
bruh, that's fuckin magical. you better keep her close. blessings to you both.
Nujabes music has been helping me cope with my depression these past two years. It makes me sad to think I'll never be able to meet him in person, but his music having touched me is all that matters.
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened
He was truly the Lofi King himself
Godfather of LoFi and Jazzhop, Nujabes🙏🏾
His music brings you back from the edge when you feel like you're all over the place in life. It makes me feel centered.
especially when you haven't listened in a good while
Most definitely, this is exactly how it makes me feel.
His music melts the edge away
this is exactly how it makes me feel.
11 years without you master, but you will always be alive in our hearts and ears ... RIB
R.I.P legend, still bumpin your music in 2K22
Nujabes music always reminds me of those times where you sit in the train, look out the window and remember everything you always loved, hated and reminisce about life...
When i hear his music i always imagine a couple of dudes sitting in a little studio appartament somewhere in Tokio on a rainy day in 2004, smoking weed and enjoying life. Rest in Peace Nujabes.
I'm sure nujabes is now smiling happily in heaven seeing that so many people are happily enjoying his music without caring that his work was uploaded without his permission.
especially if he can read the comments of people here who are grateful to be able to listen to his music, such as comments :
that this music can help him get through his difficult days, when listening to this music adds to the enjoyment of drinking coffee in the afternoon or on the way home on the train and many more I swear you too can feel that this music help you.
Thank you Nujabes you're legend you're inspire

Jun seba.. You will be always in our hearts.. Your music lives on. 💕🎶
2023 and still wishing he was here to make more masterpieces. rip nujabes
i wish samurai champloo would last forever :)
It does! It lives forever in our hearts!
ikrrr
GAR SON aww
Me too
This anime has a great end of the story. This makes it to appreciate the anime. If it went out of the story of manga, it would be the same as 200 - 300 of useless episodes as it was in Naruto.
"Feather" brings me back to those times when I was an inner city kid, walking through my "violent" yet somehow peaceful neighborhood to get to my local library and chill in there, or waiting for the bus to get to school, and trying to figure out what this heavy weight in my chest was, because even with all the books I've read, I hadn't the vocabulary to give it a name.
It seems to me that I understand your feels. I hope that, now, you're finally able to express yourself and the world around you a little more like you would have wanted to. Anyway, do you think that everything can be explained or can you put words on everything, on even figured out ? Sometimes, we probably should take a step back to see where we are.
Your comment is one of my favorite ever yet.
@@kayz9967 Thank you. For a while, people around me called my behavior "shyness". Just "shyness", and sometimes "mood swings". But it took a panic attack and hospitalization for me to find out what it was: depression and anxiety, induced by trauma that I had kept to myself for so long and can only escape through literature.
It may be hard to find the right words to call that black hole in our chest, but the hard work of discovering it makes healing easier.
@KryptiiK Bro chill... Why the hell do you have to attack a random like that?
@KryptiiK this Is not reddit, and why do you calle that shit? I think Is genuine, does It feel good to insult rando's online?
@KryptiiK he never said que has "woke" you alone are making up a point and atacking It
"So as we lay, I reminisce on the day that we
met. Please, God, never let me forget."
One of my favorite lyrics from "Lady Brown"
Yeah that song has some deep loving lyrics. I have big respect for the rappers who collaborated with Nujabes. Deep thinking, raw emotions.
is it just me, or nujabes music is the lightest music ever
its just like it goes through you and blesses you from every angle possible
🙏🌷
I found you in 2011. I couldn't shake off your music and 'Aruarian Dance' was stuck in my head for so long. I looked you up only to find out you had passed and I felt robbed, like I had lost someone close and I had not found a way to grieve. I felt a connection and the fact we share the same birthday just made it stronger. You were gone too soon but you kept me company through all these years. I keep coming back to you as I would to a dear friend, you console me and give hope. I only wish I could watch you play or meet you. You'll never know what you mean to me. I love you, and you shall be one of my favorite artists ever. Rest in beats, dearest Sebajun. You're the friend I never had.
Felt that! We all miss him...
Man this is so relaxing , I listen to it keep myself calm and fight that sleep anxiety i get from the fact that my dad is fighting a brain disease and is in unconcious state of mind.
I came across Nujabes fairly recently, in my late 20s and I am so sad that I didn't when I was younger...it is just "music for my ears" both metaphorically and literally.
I've been listening specifically to Feather and Lady Brown since I was like 12? 13? I found myself back to this now that I'm 27, still sounds amazing
Did not die but became the very manifestation of his art.
I wish he knew how much his music still touches us today.
I didn't even know he passed away. Rest in Peace brotha. Feather is a masterpiece
I'm jealous of everyone who has yet to discover Nujabes😂
Nujabes actually inspired me to make videos and putting my thoughts into visuals... because whenever I listen to his beats, I see vivid pictures of places that I've never been to which seem nevertheless familiar.
No other artist can create these kind of associations in my head and that's why I get inspired everytime I listen to it - I always want to create and edit videos then , kinda wanna paint the pictures I see when I listen to him.
It's been 10 years. You and your music still live among us.

Nujabes is magical. Most lofi mixes make me drowsy but Nujabes makes you wanna get out there and ace the day.
Feather was playing in my mind before I even clicked on the video. It's just the right way to open up a mix of his music.
My dumbass barely realised Nujabes is his name backwards Seba, Jun.
Holy shit.... I guess I'm dumb too
I know nothing of him, Samurai Champloo brought me here. Thx 4 da info.
Quite the noggin on this one XD
*standing applause*
I had no idea, RIP.

The perfect pre-stream soundtrack
Nujabes is the definition of shaping lives through music. True artist of his craft. Thank you Seba Jun. RIP brother
This is pretty close to a definitive Nujabes mix! Saving this to send to friends as a comprehensive introduction. Thanks for compiling it!
I come back to this once in a while to cry and get it all out. Thank you for this.
RIP and Long Live Nujabes.
This mix is a beautiful selection from a beautiful library. Thank you
I've listened to this compilation enough times where if I listen to a song individually, I always think of the next song in the playlist.
This mix has got to be one of my ALL TIME FAVOURITE THINGS ON THE INTERNET!
i still come back to this everyday man. rip Seba!
Another artist i got into when he was already long gone. big up nujabes, who's literally counting stars riiight now
Music hasn't been the same rest well Jun and thank you for the timeless beats
This brings me so much joy in times of BS. Your soul lives on through your music brother! R.I.P Nujabes.
Thanks for helping to keep his legacy alive! Respect to those artists that tribute and follow in his beatsteps 🎹🎶
This man really started an inspiring music genre and I couldn’t be more grateful. Rest In Peace Nujabes...
I have been looking for this version of ''Rainy Day'' for so long. Thank you !
All through my years in college, I keep finding myself coming back to these masterpieces to help me focus when I'm cramming for exams. There's something really special about these tracks, and I only wish we could have had more.
can't believe i've been living life every single day since march 23, 2018 without knowing this existed. thank you so much, friend.
I remember listening to all this in college! This man really made some beautiful music
Rest in peace, your music is beautiful beyond what words can describe
Listening to this and sending as much light I can to Kobe and everyone else who made the journey pass the space between 2 worlds this morning
the OG lofi-hiphop artist. got nothing but respect.
I really appreciate the effort you put into making this dude, thank you for making my nights
Dudes invented a whole genre of music, thats pretty impressive, especially since its become so popular
Why I am feeling so much love from this music. What a music. Sad he is not alive but his music will stay forever for sure. Tearing for no reason. What a artistic music.
I'll never be thankful enough to Nujabes for what he brought to this world, Shiki No Uta brings back memories and makes me water my eyes every time
Listening to Nujabes makes my day a hundred times better.
Had to power through creating a couple schedules for the upcoming months. This kept me on track. Thank you kind stranger.
Thank God he is getting some more exposure. RIP to the greatest.
Each spell is filled with the color of each different nujabes album. Gorgeous! :D
Woah I didn't notice that
Since i discovered him and his music i comeback every time its wonderful. Rip legend🔥🔥❤
Every single song on this list is a whole vibe. Best bitter sweet mix if ive ever heard one
He is forever immortal through his music. Rest in peace brother.
The intro to Another Reflection gets me in the feels every single time
So sad to have not discovered Samurai Champloo and thus Nujabes until now, but also happy that Nujabes music is still coming to new people like me. Gone but never forgotten, Rest In Peace Nujabes.
this music always brings up that feeling I had when going to my favorite café when I used to live in Fukuoka in Japan. It was a chill place run by artists with Jazz and Nujabes Music in the background. I always went there to draw something, learn Japanese or just to chat with one of the shopowners
That café was simply on another vibe...
True geniuses are sadly always the first one's to go.
RIP bro.
His death kinda reminded me of satoshi kon
I don't have to mention the greatness of Nujabes, but I should mention this: this compilation is so great! This video made me fell in love with Nujabes. Thanks for the great work.
I really love Nujabes work, he might actually be the father of modern lofi hip hop
He might... He is the father of lofi hip hop
@@Don_Julio805 indeed he is, he is an ispiration
Him and J Dilla yea
I am so thankful for his contribution to the recognition of THE TRUTH. I am so flattered to be moved by his music.

thank you very much.

this has always brought up deep feelings within me and others of Sadness, Love, Peace, Inspiration, Remembrance & Hope. Shoutouts go to the creators and producers of this magic and soulection of wonderful music. Special thanks to Cozy for doing this video/playlist.
Nujabes the eternal G........rock on man ROCK ON! I love his stuff from Samurai Champloo (Fat Jon too) and dig his music in general. Straight fire, passion, and beauty rolled into one.
its funny how lofi hip hop is such a trend nowadays and only listening to this today and re reading about Nujabes on wiki where I realize he is the progenitor of the lofi genre. RIP Jun Seba
My brother introduced me to Nujabes in 2014-2015. Absolutely love his music!
Nujabes will be always in our hearts with his music
Lady Brown gets me everytime 😣 such beautiful music
i just discovered nujabis and this was the best discovery in my life
This dude is making me see the colors of life again.
Can't explain in other words.
One of the most appeasing mixes I’ve ever heard
battlecry and shiki no uta give me the hype i need
I've been listening to ma man Nujabes for 7 years and I have not come across this 🔥🔥🔥
OMG this was suggested to me at just the perfect time. I almost forgot about Nujabes. RIP legend
I had this awesome compilation playing at work. I clocked out to leave for lunch. Battlecry came on. I chose to wait for the jam to finish before leaving.
Bro the thumbnail/cover is on point! It's the first thing people see so it automatically tells people whether something is high or low quality. That cover is just clean and beautiful! Also: Nice mix!
I didn't know about this artist up until I listened to his masterpiece of songs on 5uppp's stream on twitch while he was playing valorant since I'm obsessed with Nujabes's music. Thxs for this complication
I finally found the source all the LoFi playlist are getting the good stuff.
YES same here. Who would have thought some balck dudes in the 70' mixing jazz with rap would generate 40 years later the lofi hiphop style
Jazz with vocals are gems
Feather enlightens my soul.
I recognized Feather in less than 1 sec, took me 0:01 to like the video, new record for me.
I came back to pay my respects to nujabes a great musician I first started listening to him when I was 15 I am now 17 and while I don't listen to him as often I still respect and appreciate him for opening my eyes to better music and really defining my music taste my favorite songs are the luv sic songs specifically 1-4 and lady brown worlds end rhapsody, aruarian dance that old light , light on the land and many others thank you nujabes for all you have done.
