That third verse makes me tear up every time I hear it. I was that kid that idolized my favorite rappers and knew all of their songs. They were the fucking shit, in my eyes. Definitely one if his best songs!

I remember hearing that part when I was a kid and it’s stuck with me my entire life lol especially when it leads to ‘cuz we consider these minutes golden’. That line is timeless to me because when you strip everything else surrounding music away, it’s all for a fleeting minute of connection. It shows a deep understanding of what music and art is, and what it’s highest aspiration can be, and we literally get to that in this song.
Same, and it hits right after even more. "Or for anyone who's ever been thru shit in they lives, so they sit and they cry at night. Wishing they'd die, till they throw on a rap record, and they sit and they vibe."

I am being transparent in that I am a Christian and as such do not listen to much Rap or Hip Hop because of the language. BUT Eminem spoke to me from day 1 of ever hearing him. I do not know what it is about him that just draws me in 100% of the time. I will never tire of his work. He has so much greatness in that brain of his!
You're gonna love NF then... every song is relatable and he doesn't curse in any of his songs.. its incredible how he can rap and be angry and not slip out any curse out.

I was one of those white teenagers listening to Eminem in those growing years, with a pill popping, alcoholic mother (who did her best for me, I love her), and my birth father left before I was born, it was just easy to get lost in music that spoke to you.

This is probably his best song overall. Like he was saying, to be able to take on a song as iconic as Dream On...literally an all time great in and of itself, takes fucking balls.
