I hold a great amount of respect for Peter Bogdanovich. I could listen to him talk about film for hours. Over the years, it’s unfortunate that he hasn’t had more opportunities to direct.
Thank you for uploading this. ❤️❤️❤️ I always wanted to see an interview with Peter Bogdanovich (especially one from his earlier period) but I never knew that he made talk show appearances. Keep up the good work 👍👍👍
Cavett usually had riveting interviews with people. He was well prepared and went to the crux of the person. Cavett, in this interview didn't yet respect Bogdanovich. He hadn't even bothered to view the film. I was hoping to see a good discussion on the making of the film and working with Tim (and Sam) Bottoms and Cybill Shepherd. Instead, we get two minutes about the film that was used because Cavett knew nothing about the film or Bogdanovich. Sad. This video could have been a film historian's delight.
have nothing against the other celebs that were on this show but is this channel ever going to show the Dick Cavett shows where he interviews Jackie Gleason or Art Carney? How about any Honeymooners actors that were part of the main cast? These are rarities much like these.
What's your favourite Peter Bogdanovich movie?
Paper Moon
Picture Show or Noises Off
Has to be Paper Moon, though Noises Off, Picture Show and They All Laughed are all up there. At Long Last Love is a guilty pleasure 🙌🏼

I need to see this movie, I heard it's good! My condolences to his family. RIP Peter Bogdanovich.😔
PB casually pulls out a cigarette and matches. Nobody flinches. It was another world.
Look at how Bogdanovich is dressed when he comes out. I thought the same thing.
Very sweet to hear Mel Brooks whisper “You’ll like it” after Cavett admits he hasn’t seen the film.
Love Peter. Hope he's doing okay.
Of course Mel Brooks eventually shot in glorious black & white, the classic ‘Young Frankenstein.’
His greatest film.
It wouldn't have been as funny in color. Black and white made it feel like an actual old time movie from the thirties or forties.
I wonder how long after this interview he and Wilder came up with the idea of such
For anyone who loves seeing Peter in front of the camera, check out _The Other Side of the Wind_ on Netflix.
Great film! One of my favorites.
R.I.P. Peter bogdanovich!🙏
I was lucky enough to know and work with Peter bogdanovich for a few weeks at paramount studios with River Phoenix. He was a very nice person.

Awesome! Thank you for this great video! I'm a big fan of the movie and the director, so this was a special t treat!
What a great show, great interviewer and such a great format that Dick Cavett just owned.
Mel Brooks, not too shabby , ‘for colorblind people’
Interesting to note that Mel shot Young Frankenstein in B&w about three years after this interview was shot
It's interesting how Mel Brooks' next movie was in b&w (Young Frankenstein)

Thank you for the insight.
Please post the final Bobby Fischer interview!
R.I.P Peter!
Mel Brooks went on to do Young Frankenstein in black and white two years later in 1974.
Lighting up with style.
No ascot??
RA and PB look like giants here even though neither is over six feet tall.
Is this channel ever going to show Dick Cavett shows where he interviews Jackie Gleason and/or Art Carney? I don’t have the Decades channel.

its so tragic that the current generation only wants to tear old film makers down rather than lift them up
Mel brooks looks like a hobbit next to Bogdanovich.
Jeffrey Donaldson special guest appearance in the Eric smith show on December 22 1959
Few years later Mel does young Frankenstein in black & white
Where's his water bottle?
What, no mesh water bottle?
Real life Drama's experienced by Directors.
Peter Bogdanovich......Dorothy Stratten
Roman Polanski..........Sharon Tate
Cher had a bad experience with him; she is not an admirer of PB the person.
