I too struggle with what’s in our chest freezer. So, usually it’s used for our harvests until I get a chance to catch up. We have two upright freezers, and it’s easier for me to remember to get things out to defrost from them. But, I do also forget what’s in some of those drawers.

I make wild blackberry syrup because I have an abundance of them! I have made jam with them also.
I haven’t made the syrup with blueberries but we have made blueberry barbecue sauce and loved it!

The blueberry syrup sounds delicious! I just bought 2 more pints. My local store has had them on sale for $1.99/pint, so I have been buying them and canning them in a simple syrup. That way, I can choose what I want to use them for later. Ive also been canning peaches 🍑 ($.99/#), and cherries 🍒 ($2.99/#) ... last year they were $7.99/# and never got any lower than $5.99, so I only got some for snacks, no canning. This year, I'm taking advantage of the low prices.
