  • The Abwoon Network website shares the work of Dr. Neil Douglas-Klotz on Native Middle Eastern (Southwest Asian) spirituality, peacemaking and ecology, including work on the Aramaic words of Jesus, Hebrew and Native Middle Eastern creation mysticism and Sufism. The website is maintained and updated by the Edinburgh Institute for Advanced Learning in Scotland, UK (see “About Us“).
Neil is best known for his work on the Aramaic Prayer of Jesus (“The Lord’s Prayer”), shared both in his books as well through the body prayers with music that have spread around the world in the past 40 years (a form called the Dances of Universal Peace). See the Library menu link above to hear about the background of the Aramaic prayer, to see the prayer danced and performed as a personal body prayer and to learn the prayer in Aramaic.

I am not an Aramaic speaker. I am from Sabah, Malaysia. I just don't understand why we are being told that Aramaic language is "dead" or "dying" language when it is being actively spoken everyday by communities all over the world. Aramaic is being spoken in all its variety of dialects and is very much alive today and may it long live !! In Yeshua's Name. Amen. Halleluyah.

Well you are right in a way, however remember HaMashiach spoke a Galilean / Nazareth dialect . Kind of a slang if you would , although he was a Hebrew speaker aswelll.
So HaMashiach dialect is what is lost not the language itself

"Ela Patzan min bisha" ("But deliver us from evil") are very powerful words to speak against any dark forces. "Bisha" is the word for evil and notice how pronouncing it in Aramaic sends it away as you say it - "beSHA"! Each line is powerful all the way to the end. I can say now as easily as I ever did in English. Blessings on your noble path.

So beautiful I’m almost perfecting the tone with the singer rolling my Rs with the gutteral sounds to the beautiful song of the Lords Prayer in Aramaic I have never sung a song since I was a child because my soul felt like it had been stolen by a wolf 🐺 in sheep’s clothing who used the Bible to decieve me at a very early age I never sang again until now after finding Jesus christ and the Holy Spirit in my heart after I forgave my abuser and everyone else who mocked and shamed me I have wandered far from the Path and got lost that is until I picked up a Bible and read about “Paul” the Apostle of Christ I have prayed for a voice to sing praises to abba Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit and you delivered the one true song of the Lords Prayer 🙏 thank you I feel the Holy Spirit within me stirring and the hand of god reach out to me in my dreams praise the Lord Jesus Christ for truly he is the Son of God many blessings to you all kind regards Martin

Jesus hated religion and there is 4000 false religions out ther what people have been indoctrinated with satans at work and hes not of flesh and blood. Jesus taught 2000 years ago in synogogs tax mans house on streets that you must only believe he is the son of GOD and died for you and was raised from the tomb 3 days later. Him and his father work as ONE. Our hearts are wicked and thoughts so we ask The lord for his holy spirit the same spirit jesus recieved when he was Baptized The holy spirit changes us and purges us. with out the holy spirit we will always be wicked. John 3:3 Romans 10:9 John 14:6 allways forgive others GODBLESS. The Lord is drawing you in other wise you would not be listening to this beautiful prayer.😊

It truly is remarkable to learn. I learned it often while do household chores like doing the dishes. Sometimes I would have to stop and get choked up and tears were streaming down my face. I knew it was not only the meaning of the words but the feeling of the language in which you sense had to be divinely orchestrated and composed. Words in this language were to be like putting music into words do they flow through your body. It's amazing that a few lines can empower a person like they do. BLESSINGS

I find especially my Hindu friends pick up immediately on the vibrational frequency. It's like they seem to be more in tune to knowing a powerful mantra when they hear it. I learned it all the way through. I was about to stop with the short version at "Ella patzan min bisha" (deliver us from evil) because it seemed difficult. But I kept at it and it flows. Bisha (evil) notice how the pronunciation is like sending the evil away - bishaaa! The prayer cleanses all the chakras! You can feel it. Thanks for sharing. Many are experiencing the same thing! ♡

That's great, and the reason I made it. Some versions vary but it is easy to go along with them too. Making this really helped me learn the entire prayer, now I can quote it as easy as I ever did in English. It took awhile though. I almost stopped at the short version, deliver us from evil, because the last part sounded impossible to learn, but I hung in there with, "For thine is the kingdom, etc., " and I am so glad I did. Each line I memorized impacted me in different ways to the very last, "Amen"!

One line at a time. You will be amazed the impact each line will make. I almost ended with the short version "and deliver us from evil". I didn't think I would get the last lines "for now is the Kingdom" but eventually I memorized it as well and I can now do the prayer in Aramaic as well as I do in English. One of the most beneficial accomplishments of my life actually.

@@kiyenmoodley7013 Not exactly true. As you will find in Matthew 5:17, Jesus said, “Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place."
Jesus taught us gave us proper perspective on the law and how to follow it as God intended, but he did not abolish it. A prime example of this is in Mark chapter 2 when Jesus instructs on the purpose of the Sabbath. I'll include the quote below so you don't have to look it up.
"One sabbath he was going through the grainfields; and as they made their way his disciples began to pluck ears of grain. And the Pharisees said to him, “Look, why are they doing what is not lawful on the sabbath?” And he said to them, “Have you never read what David did, when he was in need and was hungry, he and those who were with him: how he entered the house of God, when Abi′athar was high priest, and ate the bread of the Presence, which it is not lawful for any but the priests to eat, and also gave it to those who were with him?” And he said to them, “The sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath; so the Son of man is lord even of the sabbath.” (Mark 2:23-28)
Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord be with you
