I am syriac arameic, growing up my dad always prayed this with us before bed. I know it by heart. Mighty is the name of Jesus Christ of Nasareth, Holy three times is his name, all glory to the Risen King and savior of the world. Happy easter to all orthodox. HE IS RISEN HALLELUJAH

these words are alive. they speak to all who have ears to hear. i have gone my entire life child to man 43 years, without crying even in private. But, although i cannot understand these words, i feel these words. i can do nothing ,but allow the tears poor from me as i hear this. the act of jesus was beyond a punishment, it was the ultimate act of kindness and selflessness. forgive us lord we know not what we do.

when I was a kid, I remember something happen to me. I am around 8 to 9 year old at that time. I always like to read bible just new testament part. I read lots and I remember one afternoon I take a nap time and I hear a very beautiful song like bring me to a place like a big hall in a palace and I hear a beautiful melodies sing this prayer. and when I stumbled upon this prayer song, few week ago. I never get to know this song exists before. it’s open my memories once I hear this song, it’s so familiar and I cry. but the song I heard when I was a child is more beautiful than this, it’s like a lullaby and very peaceful. make you feel want to close your eyes but open your ears. I remember wake up and feel awesome, I feel that sound beautiful and beautiful place. I keep saying very beautiful, very beautiful. I miss that moment so much in my life. there never second experience like that. but one experience already unforgettable for me until today morethan 2 decades after.

Correct me if i'm wrong with anything, but this is the Abun-dbashmayo (our father) i have been taught and know in Syriac.
Thank you for this, I am of Syrian descendant and I remember hearing this in our church when I was a kid. Then once I am in the English church, slowly forgot everything. But I do listen to Syrian Prayers and whenever I do, I can feel my cells remembering all that my ancestors went through for faith- the persecution, the travels, the losses, the laughter the tears.. all in the hope of seeing the Lord again.
