I would like to see a series of Find Daves Ball...what is the best for his swing speed and/or handicap. I see he is hitting the TP5 but that is a high compression ball and would not get the most optimal out of it due to his swing speed. This would be a good one for the winter time and then he has his ball once the season starts back up.
I go to a half set in winter and rotate the clubs each game. I use odd numbers then even numbers. The only constant is my putter. I find this really helps me try to play half shots etc.
I carry 7 clubs starting at 5 wood, 5hybrid, 7, 9, set GW, chipper and putter. Being a similar age to Dave and 8 week's post OP after him replacement his and my distances are uncannily similar. I love playing with 1\2 a set it makes the game so much simpler and doesn't affect my scores.
No, it’s not always mandatory, but sometimes courses will be carry only if the conditions are particularly difficult. It does make sense to carry in winter if you are able to. Often fairways are roped off 30 yds short of the greens not allowing trollies any nearer, so you end up walking a lot further and have to go back and forth for change of clubs.

Well done Dave! Excellent distance control.
Pretty much now until mid-March I carry 7: 18° Hy-Wood, 23.5° hybrid, 7 iron, 9 iron, GW, 54° SW, and putter.
Brilliant demo by Dave. The surprise and joy on his face was there for all to see. Bravo, you two!
Thanks Steve
I carry older irons in the winter. Titleist 962 irons with a light bag. I don’t screw up my pretty 101T Takomos.

Sorry, did i hear that correctly. In the winter you have to carry your bag in the UK? Is that mandatory everywhere?

Can Dave get out of a greenside bunker with a 52?
I carry 6 + putter so the 56 can go in
I should be able to, time will tell 🤞
