The Book of the Ancestor is one of my FAVORITE trilogies. I binged the first two in probably 5-ish days back in 2020 and then the third took me a bit because I didn’t want it to end. It’s just SO good and Nona is the best.
Im really just now getting into reading in earnest so I haven't heard of any of these books before, so thank you! Really popular books are popular for a reason, but peoples videos get a bit boring when its just a shuffling of the same 20ish books that are being recommended. Excited to give all of these a read.
So many great recs! I love your enthusiasm when you talk about books, you have convinced me to give along the razors edge another go. I’m hoping to star ninth rain this year. I really enjoyed the emperors blades, need to continue!
When I heard “assassin nuns” I was like wait His Fair Assassin? I haven’t read that trilogy yet but I read the Courting Darkness duology recently and it sounded similar for a second there. I’d recommend it with the caveat that it’s quite slow and very politically heavy (and confusing to me at least) but my real recommendation will always be Claire Legrand’s Empirium trilogy. It’s the series that inspired me to start posting book content myself lol
These are literally ALL on my TBR already because of your channel (besides Book of the Ancestor which I already had on there) and they all sound amazing to me, so thank you for introducing me to them. I hope I get to many of them next year and like them just as much 😊
Already read 2 of those (Book of the ancestor I finished all, Eska I listened to first book) because yes, you won't stop talking about them 😂And yes, they are great! 3 more to go :D
I still need to read Red Sister. I originally wanted to read along with your book club months ago but it didn’t quite work out. But I do really want to read it. You hype the series so much and it makes me want to grab it but at the most inconvenient of times lol. If I don’t get to it in December then January I definitely will.
Another just plain fun video! 🍿 Along the Razor's Edge & Ashes of the Sun are on my December TBR now! 💕 I'm glad I didn't miss your hidden end-credits scene - you need to do more singing like that! 😂 ⏰️
Burningblade and Silvereye is still such a highlight of this year for me! Also this video made me think about how weird it is that I like dragons but don't really care about animal companions
such a great list!! (bumped i missed the read-a-long for Red Sister🥺) definitely planning to read some of these in december. so excited for them!! also, great outro -- thats me everyday hahha
Yes! I had this series on my TBR pile for YEARS and finally pushed myself to read it about 6 months ago. Honestly I expected to DNF it, but it ended up being an enjoyable little page turner. V pleasant surprise. 😊
@@feloriene To me the first book is the best, the second is good, the third has some questionable ending choices but it was more enjoyable to read than the second book
Every series you named are those that I either want to read or already had read and loved❤️ "The Women's War" trilogy is also incredibly good and extremely underrated, I think you might enjoy it.
Why yes, please do use any excuse you can find to gush more about these GEMS!!! I can't believe how few ratings these actually have when you look at them in the grand scheme of things! Makes me realise how much of a little bubble I exist in lol 🤣 I neeeeeed to read book 4&5 of Eska. And I am stil so so so happy you recommended Burningblade & Silvereye so hard because I loved bingeing that earlier this year 🤩
right, like I thought they were all bigger then they were. ninth rain is shocking cause I actually see a few bigger book tubers talk about it! yes please continue I need your thoughts on the ending of eskaaaaaaa
For another great under-rated fantasy featuring siblings, I highly recommend Engines of Empire (and the 2nd book in the planned trilogy, Engines of Chaos) by R S Ford. So great!
I haven't read Rage Of Dragons. I hope when I read it I will rave it a lot! I read a lot of middle grade/preteen fantasy novels. A lot are in the Rick Riordan Presents imprint. To name one, I recommend Aru Shah/Pandava series by Roshani Chokshi. ⏰️

So many great recs!
I love your enthusiasm when you talk about books, you have convinced me to give along the razors edge another go.
I’m hoping to star ninth rain this year.
I really enjoyed the emperors blades, need to continue!
I hope that it works for you on the second try!!
you’ve inspired me to check out ashes of the sun from the library! i just reserved it and i can’t wait to read
I hope you love it!!!!
Completely agree about Mark Lawrence's writing! (And I just bought Along the Razor's Edge! So excited for it)
ooooh I really hope you like along the razors edge! it was such a fun one!

Already planning on reading some of these so I’m for sure going to add the ones I haven’t heard of to my lost
Yay, I hope you love them all

I love this so much, I hope you enjoy the other three!
Loved these recs! So many I haven't heard of, more to add to my list!
I really hope you enjoy them, I clearly love them and need more people to read them!

oooooooh yes I love this for you@@shaykininmybooks
Burningblade and Silvereye is still such a highlight of this year for me!
Also this video made me think about how weird it is that I like dragons but don't really care about animal companions
I feel like it really depends like I want animal companions with personality but some are just literally animals that are companions
such a great list!! (bumped i missed the read-a-long for Red Sister🥺)
definitely planning to read some of these in december. so excited for them!!
also, great outro -- thats me everyday hahha
we are reading book of the ice next! so defs pick up red sister!
To me, an underrated fantasy series is Penryn & the end of Days which starts with Angelfall as the first book.
Yes! I had this series on my TBR pile for YEARS and finally pushed myself to read it about 6 months ago. Honestly I expected to DNF it, but it ended up being an enjoyable little page turner. V pleasant surprise. 😊
ill have to look this one up!!!!!!!

@@CoverswithCassidy I finished the trilogy literally yesterday. It’s very binge worthy. I recommend it.

Gyre also gives me Fox Mulder vibes from The X-Files...trauma from sister being taken, etc etc.
I see this
I'm impressed at how Mark Lawrence can write women. It feels good.

I’ve read all but ashes of the sun but it’s on my tbr🎉
I hope you enjoy ittttt!!!
You've convinced me to give the ninth rain a second chance after i dnfed it.😊
oh noooo, I hope it goes better for you the second time
That coffee song is my type of book 😂❤
It's a pretty iconic recommendation 😂✨
I still really need to read Eska and Nona, they both sound exactly like my kind of character but I have yet to get to them. Hopefully soon!
please dm your thoughts when you read pls
@@CoverswithCassidy I'll definitely let you know when I pick them up!
really enjoyed Along the Razor's Edge - now I need to continue! :)

Yay, already have all of these added! I think that means I've been converted 😂
I think you were converted months ago ;)
After hearing all your praise for Rob J. Hayes, I might need to make his books a priority for 2024, I've never read any...
I think you should !!!!
War eternal is so good Eska is such a fucking queen
LITERALLY
Miss peregrine's home for peculiar children book series is a good book series to read.
Not me wanting to reread The Ninth Rain now.
I say do it
Hi how are you? I hope well 😊
My name is Kostas and I am from Greece... which kind of books do you like to read?
Mask of Mirrors is in the bg and isn’t on the underhyped fantasy list???? 👀
I haven't read it yet👀 I need to fix this
Ninth Rain is epitome of underrated!! Great video :D :D
