New COGTA minister to prioritise dysfunctional municipalities

- New ministers and their deputies will be sworn in during a ceremony at the National Assembly today. This follows President Cyril Ramaphosa’s announcement on Sunday evening where he added two more ministries to the executive. But with the government of national unity and leaders coming from across the political spectrum, the relationship between the new ministers and the bureaucrats will be critical in ensuring effective service delivery.
One of those ministers who will sworn in today is the newly-appointed COGTA Minister Velenkosini Hlabisa. He speaks to Newzroom Afrika's Aldrin Sampear ahead of the swearing-in ceremony.

I like this gentleman, very cool, reasonable and knowledgeable. South Africans are blessed having him. He will navigate through to become President of South Africa. Watching from Zambia.
he is a true statesman
Cool doesn't hard work
Mr Hlabisa is dedicated person with credibility and hopefully services will be delivered
From when?
Y'all act as if you don't know these politicians😂.
Spoiler alert, nothing will change under this GNU stokvel.
Mr Hlabisa gives us hope given his good track record as a clean leader. Let us give him the necessary support.
Pls start with all Free State municipalities
VELINKOSI : 1. Skills audit. 2. Workshop councillors about their responsibilities. Oversight not tenders. Seperation of powers. 3. Administrators to remain administrators.
Congratulations Sir. A man of integrity, honour and competent.
This Minister is a true Leader. What an impressive person.
Then in 6 months time you’ll be criticising him
The DA is giving Aldrin so much stress😂. Claus 16 of the SOI is precisely what Helen describes. Electoral outcomes should be the principle used to determine the allocation of positions in the GNU/GPU. Numbers are what is going to hold these formations together. Without the numbers, we won't have stability.
Wow, this GNU is exciting. What a leader, what a gentleman. COGTA is in good hands.
That’s what happened when you new in government weight till people criticise you
@@sifisodube4686 I'm reasonable, I don't just criticise.
Congratulations to you and we praying for you

You have a very tough Job because the last audit report was very bad
Can you start with machabeng municipality please.
A proper statesman, this role is likely to suit him well, hopefully he makes a great success of it.
When you new in government every body loves you weight till you don’t please every one they turn back on you
Come to BCM ⚠️⚠️

Please Hlabisa sitakulele omasipala bethukuyabheda kakhulu khona by 2026 kuzoba nomehluko aphume wonke amasela
So many tiered groups they need to solve problems
Maybe things will change if only they can pronounce determine 😅 not deter mine😂 hey wena
How's your Zulu?
ANC is Garden boys and kitchen girl that's ware ANC is now a position they prefer.
Time is not we have now. You had 30yrs Time. You also using Time as a shield to steal. Hamba😅
The IFP of Hlabisa has failed to provide water across rural KZN.
What makes y'all think things will change. MK was gonna provide services ⚫️🟢⚪️
Jacob Zuma was a president for almost 2 terms, here we talking about the person who was the headmaster but South Africa it is still what it is today, and you believe MK part is the answer to South African problems??? You must be joking
@jysel, clearly you don't understand that Zuma couldn't make decisions on his own in the ANC, that's why he wanted a 2/3rds majority, Zuma wanted us to have nuclear energy but was blocked there's a lot more he wanted to do but couldn't that's why they had to take him out white people will never allow black people to have too much power by power I mean economical power not this political power these guys are powerless, everytime they go against the markets they threaten us with the rand so don't blame Zuma you have no idea what's going on, you have been miss lead by mainstream media
You are wrong! Umgungundlovu, eThekwini Metro, Ugu, Sisonke and Harry Gwala are not under the IFP. These municipalities are under the ANC and being looted by people who have fortunately defected to MKP which is their new looting instrument. At least MKP has been sidelined in KZN due to their disjointedness and chaos!
Zuma is only there to steal more. Blessings to Minister Hlabisa.
@@ndodangcobo5131 OK Mapholoba. I'm talking about Northern KZN though (eNyakatho).
