  • 3.5 V6 is burning little bit of oil now that is at around 134k miles.
NOTE: if you remove the PCV valve and it does not rattle or make the slightest sound, you may want to replaced it with a new OEM one. Here at my local Honda dealership they are asking about $50 +tax. The parts guy at the Dealership suggested to clean it.want to PCV valve that your replacing rattles,

Update, so I returned the Auto Zone PCV valve, because after them ordering two of them; they didn't rattle or make any kind of sound, not even the slightest, compared to the OEM one. I called my local auto parts store, Monument, and they had an aftermarket one that they had in stock. He checked if the aftermarket one rattles and he said he heard a slight rattle or sound. NAPA and Honda auto parts would need to order the PCV valve.
My engine is consuming about a quart of oil after a little more than 3,500 miles as I'm writing this. I still have not changed or cleaned the OEM PVC valve.
I just added about a quart today.
If you have experienced issues with a Honda 3.5 V6, new or old please share with me what you did to remedy this oil consumption problem.
I will continue to update or reply to everyone.
    THANKS FOR WATCHING FOLKS!!!

Burning oil issue on the v6 motor is the VCM. Best method I found & used is to install a VCM Tuner that disables VCM.

It’s pretty much the same thing as older V6 Honda Accords & Acura TLs from 2008-2014. Did it help in slowing down the oil burning? I ask because I have a 4th-Gen TL with a version of your 3.5L V6 & it never burns a drop of oil.
Your engine has VCM (Variable Cylinder Management) that turns your V6 into a straight 3 to save fuel. I know it can be one of the reasons it burns a little oil.

This is my first Accord ever, from a 2007 CRV. We bought the car brand new, an I read that this V6 can burn oil. So now that's got more than 100k I decided to check the consumption of oil; I noticed a little bit at first when the Dealer was using the Honda Synthetic 0w-20. So I did my own oil changes twice now with Castrol GTX High Mileage Synthetic 0w-20 and the consumption still there, the second oil change I noticed that with 137,xxx miles the consumption at 3k is in the middle of the dipstick between F and L.
Regarding the PCV valve, I just did the video for information to the public. I bought the Valve at Auto Zone and when I got it, i shook it and I didn't hear a sound. Now I know older vehicles have a metal PCV valve and they make a rattle sound when shaken, so I found that odd.
I had them ordered another an it was the same. So I returned the PCV valve to Auto Zone and kept my old one.
I was told by the parts guy at Honda to keep the old one and try cleaning it; I was going to try Degreaser. When I took the PCV valve from the engine and I shook it, it had a faint sound to it, and when the parts guy at another auto parts store shook the brand new aftermarket one he had it also made noise. So it is supposed to make some type of sound. Napa auto parts and the Honda Dealer parts department would need to order it. So I don't know regarding those. But my guess is that the one that I got from Auto Zone might be defective or wrong, but the person there never said anything about it being defective, I just got my refund and that was it.
Now regarding the VCM, I was told about this feature at the Dealership when we were looking at the car, I mean about 30+ mpg is not bad for a V6, so I like that feature. But I didn't know about the oil consumption, and hopefully it doesn't get worse. I'm just going to have to keep checking the oil and add as I need to.
Do you recommend anything else that could help the oil consumption, like additives?
Thanks for watching my video, asking questions, and hopefully it was helpful.

I have a 2010 Acura TL 3.7 replacing the PCV valve didn't help to much with the oil burning but my mpg did go up a bit.

@@cesarcastrojr4903 yeah, doing so really helps with this issue in its early stage. And the 3.7L V6 is delicate to say the least. It’s one of the main reasons I didn’t want the SH-AWD version of the 4th-Gen Acura TL. The 3.5L FWD version is just as fast and the engines are extremely similar. The 3.7L V6 has 25 more horsepower mainly to offset the extra weight. But it does have incredible handling!
How much oil do you burn currently?
