    UPDATE Brake fix - I had the same problem with the brakes... It alternates between strong and weak braking on both the front and the rear brake.
    CAUSE - I spent quite some time to check why that might be an came to the conclusion that it is because of the brake discs. They have an obvious pattern on them from how they were produced. Kind of like brushed aluminum. So, that half the rotation, the pad brakes along the grooves, and the other half rotation perpendicular to the grove. Meaning, there is more friction on parts of the brake disc than on other parts.
    FIX - I bought some sandpaper (i think 300 and 400 grid), pushed it onto both sides of the brake disc and rotated the wheel. After multiple minutes, you will notice the disc getting smoother and the grooves disappearing. When riding you will notice an obvious improvement. After a hundred kilometers or so, it will be gone completely and you have smooth braking all the way!
    If you don't want to sand the discs down manually, i suppose the grooves will also wear down over time, but this sure accelerates it.

    Your the 1st I've seen addressing the brakes. I've the same problem. The front brakes and the steering pull when you pull the front brakes actually loosened the headset on my bike. I think the brakes problem is to replace the small brake pads regularly or as you said try different discs. Great honest review

    También se el truco de hacerla legal y que no lleve acelerador físico en el puño para que no nos denuncien. El truco es quitarlo del manillar y poner otro (el más pequeño que exista) dentro de la controladora o fuera pero en algún hueco (que lo hay) y rellenerlo de silicona caliente para que no se mueva ni le entre agua. El truco está en que llevas acelerador y el circuito envía señal a la controladora pero en posición cero sin accionarlo. Asi ya no tenemos acelerador físico y no puedes acelerar prácticamente al no llevarlo. Tu bici es legal al 100 por 100. Pues bien los SUPER INGENIEROS de Fiido no saben cómo anularlo y quitarlo del manillar dicen que si lo desenchufas a error y la bici no arranca. Pues bien en Aliexpress hay aceleradores miniatura que son pequeñisimos y son válidos para mi "invento" jajaja. Con lo fácil que hubiera sido programar la controladora para que la función acelerador se anule. Aviso que las multas son enormes y estás haciendo una acción contra la Seguridad Vial en España si te cogen y ven que llevas acelerador. Ya hay muchas bicis eléctricas que venden en España que no lo llevan al darse cuenta del fallo. Pero nosotros con nuestra magnífica Fiido nos arriesgamos a la sanción gorda. Lo de deslimitar la bici lo veo una tontería ya que te puedes dar un golpe o atopellar a alguien y te buscas la ruina. Además con mi invento no se puede deslimitar.

      I have a Fiido d2s. The breaks are very good, but probably not adjusted in your case. From your video it seems that the breaking plate on one side is not sticking out of the metal part at all. I had that too, and the same problem with break not holding good. You can easily shift it out with the allen key. The discs are usually bent on the new bike, but you don't have to buy new ones, you can just straighten it with the adjustable wrench, there are several videos on youtube that explain the procedure.

    I’m thinking about buying fiido d11 but nobody knows the torque of d11 and d4s.

    • @bma.reviews5275
      @bma.reviews5275  3 роки тому

      They both probably have the same motor, since both are 250w and same wheel size. I would go for D4S because it's cheaper, less problems reported and you can adjust the handlebar height. Also, if you don't take out the D11 seat every time you park it in the streets, there's a higher risk of having the battery stolen comparing to the D4S (that has it inside the frame)

    • @dejedejsson
      @dejedejsson 3 роки тому

      I read answers to questions about D11 on fiido's website and there they answer that the torque is only 35nm, so if it is the same engine on D4s it should be the same torque. 35 nm is not very helpful up hills.

    Hey, great review and improvements. You need to remove the end cap from your brake cable, otherwise it's not properly inserted into the screw cap on the calliper (or perhaps try reusing the old screw). As it is, the cable will not be stable and may eventually break.... Unfortunately, that's how Shimano designs their callipers.

I was 1st offered £16.90 now I'm being offered £45 a third of what it will cost to fix. Also implying they will not refund if the bike is damaged in transit is frankly disgraceful! There is no way I can re pack this bike the same way, I also have no control over what happens in transit or back at their factory. We all understand things go wrong but it's how they are dealt with that makes a difference. My advise pay for this bike by credit card as at least you'll have some recompense with them. Fido, your customer service needs to stop behaving like gangsters and manage their mistakes honourably and honestly. There is still time to redeem this but it's running out. To add insult to injury this is a replacement for one stolen, not a great way to treat repeat business.

    Fiido's pedal assist is the worst I've ever seen! It's not pedal assist actually, it just detects that you are pedaling (after quite some time actually because it's very slow) and it just gives full power!! no matter what assist gear/mode you 're on.. assist gears/modes only define different cut-off speeds for the motor so it stops when you reach that speed.. just awful!

      Indeed, it lags 2.5 pedals to start/stop the motor (if you press the brake it stops immediately) but for me it's not a big problem. If you want you can replace the controller with a better one. It's not an expensive upgrade 👍🏽
