I was hoping they'd do a quick retcon and have Blake and Steven take a DNA test and reveal he was actually Blake's bio son. They never did one before, just took Alexis' word for it
Fun interview with producers in how no matter how long the show went, the series finale would always be Steven returning. They had debated him killing Adam but decided better not to and more fitting after tasting the wealth and power, Adam spends his life right back to being a veterinarian.
They should have done more with the story line earlier in the season. Like basically make the season about him wanting Revenge. And then dealing with the aftermath of it I think that could have given them a lot of episodes
@@Anynom it really wasn't last minute. They knew it was canceled before this season. They were even filming episodes during this season. So it was not the last minute.
@@saulgoodman2018 No, they really thought another year, the cancellation came when they still had a half dozen episodes to film so adjusted plans (like how Ben was going to have a bigger role but just vanishes).

What would've more fitting is that it was Steven, not Ben, who was going against Blake in the 100th episode. As after years away, Steven wants revenge on not only Adam, but his family who forgot about him and never questioned how different the letters made him out to be. This would've made for great dynamics for all the characters and how we see Adam's slow fall instead of revealing Blake had a brother that was never revealed and subsequently left a few episodes after.
@@DavidKen878 No. Think about it. Steven's drugged for 4 years by his villainous older half brother. For 4 years/seasons, the characters have essentially all but forgotten about Steven. So, when he finally is free, he sees how the family's moved on, never questioning the complete shift in personality with those letters and probably the psychological damage the drugs did to him, it would've made a more compelling story to see Steven want revenge on the brother that did this to him and the family that say they loved him who forgot about him. Blame the Carrington drama that put him there, from the rivalry between Blake and Alexis and Adam's desire to be part of the dynasty; he wants this crazy stupid drama to end forever.

@@saulgoodman2018 not too confusing if you can keep up with the cast changes (3 Cristals and 3 Alexis') because they told us about fake Adam pretty much right away from what I remember. Although real Adam said his name was something else at first to get Steven into the mental hospital, he was Adam after that.

They also said they were even considering, at some point, to bring back Steven earlier, with a recast. But I am glad Steven was not recasted.
