You can! You have to substitute the AHL teams during the division setup section. On Xbox it’s RB to substitute teams from this section. You have to go back and forth to see which custom team has which random euro team as AHL so you can get the correct teams affiliated
Wow you can actually create your own league that's is so exciting because I did create my own league called the UHL (MY United Hockey League) with 32 teams on nhl 21, my UHL is a North American league that has players who trying to get sign by a NHL team or no longer play in the nhl, but now with this new mode you can actually do on nhl 23 makes me want to go buy it, that's perfect for my league and now I got to add more teams 32 to 48 now that's even more awesome for me because nhl video game is dying for me and I like making my own league on nhl video game!!!!!!!!!!

This NHL 23 simulations really know how to correctly sim games. That's a great Stanley Cup winner
Custom league is a great feature. For new teams, we need to be able to create AHL teams though, not some random teams

I'm in the midst of Creating 18 Custom teams and putting every NHLer on them so that I can do a draft and not be missing any players!
I think they just added a setting that allows you to choose any player even if they aren’t on the teams in the league!
