+niko nikogovic Not like that though! I very much doubt he would have ever thought of it being preferable to get gunned down on stage in his prime... Heart attack on stage doing what he loved as an old man? Sure, but no way as far as the way it happened...
I was working in Egypt when I heard about Dimebag Darrell's murder. The Egyptian travel agency representative, a very conservative, three-piece-suit-wearing gentleman in his mid 30s, was a big metal fan, and informed us of the murder. It just goes to show, you never know how many lives your art touches, and the effect you have on people, from whatever world they hail. May he rest in peace.
"These were given to me by my second cousin Daryl." heh that's kind of a funny coincidence since they've got the pantera logo-- "Which you might know better as Dimebag Daryl" welp
I keep trying to figure out how they have the straps attached to those keyboards.. did they drill holes in them? Hahaha.. Certainly was not standard Casio gear.
David, where do you store all your keyboards? I only have two 49 key units, but even so I find them awkward to store since they're so rectangular and would take a ton of space on a shelf. Do you have a loft filled with nothing but keyboards?
I’m new to your channel, so I just read up on your late cousin Dimebag. What a horrible way to go. Love your videos. Keep up the good work. Rest in peace Darrel.
And I have that digital guitar from the commercial - totally incapable of making that sound it did in the video, that guitar is a DG-1 Digital Guitar - and it's basically a Casio MT series synthesizer in a guitar form factor. Instead of keys it uses six spring-loaded triggers attached to the nylon strings to trigger the note, and note selection is done by a membrane keypad lined up under the frets of a rubber fingerboard. Quite an interesting experience playing one of those.
Wow...I was excitaded about Drumpads, then I saw a Pantera's drumsticks, and THEN one of my favorite youtubers is related to one of my favorite guitar player, from my favorite band. What a day!
HEY! HERE'S A COMMENT THAT IS NOT ABOUT DARREL (RIP). I wanted those drum pads sooo bad as a kid! They really sold me with their marketing at the time. Thank you for finally giving me the full experience of these! Remember Hit Stixx?? Seems like the same thing as those "electronic drum sticks".

"Yeah I got these from my late cousin. His name was Darrell and he loved to play guitar and was in one of the most successful bands of all time." You really gonna just drop that casually? Holy shit.
I agree. I hope he switches back to the old intro song for future episodes. The new intro is nice, but the old one has a better "retro" feel, like another commenter wrote.
Thanks for making this video as well, because 6 months later (back in 2017) i bought a real digital drum-set and now i can practice at home without disturbing my neighbors...
My marching band director thought I sucked too, asked me how I can play an instrument being partially deaf. Look at you now! You're somewhat famous more than that marching band director ever was.

I have been a fan of this channel for about a year and a half but that was after the publication of this video, so now that I am watching your old content that I had never seen before... That intro. Is AWESOME!!! It sounds like a reboot of the series. But I'd prefer the older intro, since it's my favorite! Could you make a video on the new intro?
Sorry for your loss. I was in high school when Dime as murdered, at that time I first dyed my hair pink in his honor. Kept it going until I was 23, as I decided I liked it a lot! Im a drummer, I happen to be a big Pantera fan. Vinnie is awesome.
I have the MT-520. The tones do leave a lot to be desired unless you are trying to get that retro video game sound,... then this keyboard hits the nail on the head.
My wife and I got a full 88 key digtal Piano (Korg) from the 80's when Her father passed away. We kept it for a while and then ended up selling it to a family who's child was taking piano lessons. so for now I'm back down to just my Yamaha PSR-E403 (which sounds better than the old Korg ever could, but lacks weigted Keys) Some day when I have money and space I will upgrade but for now it is as it is. I always find your channel Interesting. Keep up the good work.
The band director said he had no musical talent. Years later, he composed and recorded a little symphony on a crappy 1980s keyboard. Take that, band director!
I remember seeing the MT-520 at Wal-Mart and wanting one SO bad! Although knowing what I know now, I might go for a 500 instead. Also I love the Doctor Who shirt!
Pantera Vulgar display of power was the first album I ever bought. They are one of my favorite bands of all time RIP Dime Bag. I enjoy the 8 bit keys and 8 bit guy channel very much.
Fun fact: The drum samples on the Super Drums keyboards, and on the later ToneBank keyboards all came from a sample tape that was produced for the RZ-1 sampling drum machine. Loads of cool stuff on there, but it was evident that they recycled an awful lot. The RZ-1 is a neat piece of gear!
Holy shit dude. Pantera is my favourite fucking band... For like 10 years+, and here I come to see some of your vids and buddy of mine is like "here, check that minute"... Awesome...
