Talk Abstract: If you’ve never built any of your own tech before, it’s probably not because you can’t do it… it’s because you believe you can’t. Karmisha will provide the parts list, instruction, code, and documentation to get started with Arduino, mag-locks, and sensors. By the end of her session you’ll have everything you need to build your first project. She can’t make you a master, but she can help you start your journey.

You are awesome! I see this tutorial is from a while ago so I wish they had done more like this with you. You have a personality that instills confidence in one. Thank you!
Lol! Thank you! I'm so glad Room Escape Artist believed in me enough to do this talk! I'm sure there'll be more to come in the future!
This is a great video! I bought an Arduino lab kit a couple of years ago just so I could learn to create escape room puzzles but up until now every tutorial online has been either too complicated for me as a beginner or not terribly relevant to what I want to do. Thanks for this and even though this was 7 months ago, I just discovered it and would love to see more
Yayyyy!!!! I started with an Arduino kit too! There are so many good resources online!
I am blown away. You managed to explain this all easy enough for beginners without boring the more experienced viewers. Subscribing and ringing that bell!
Awesome! I'm glad you found the information useful!
Awesome vid! Could I get a list of materials you are using?
Glad you liked it. All of the materials, referenced links, and even the recipe are in the description above (the first link under reference links has all of the info within).
Such a great session! Where is her Texas escape room?
My escape room is in Houston. It's called Exit Lab Houston! Swing by if you get the chance! Lots of cool escape rooms in the area!
I Rally really want to learn how to build Props for Escape Room but i just dont get it. I need a Dummy class, is there one? 😢
This talk is pretty approachable if you want to build escape room props from scratch. However, if you want something that's a little bit more plug-and-play, check out our podcast sponsor COGS by Clockwork Dog. Go to cogs.show and use code REPOD at checkout for a discount on their starter set.
great job and thanks for links to sound files.
This is a really great tutorial - thanks!
Glad you liked it! 😊
This was a completely awesome video... I am so glad I stumbled on to your channel. I have been wanting to create a chess game with this same logic forever.
Question..... what hall sensors and magnet strength did you use???
I used regular hall sensors from Amazon. Since this was for beginners, I used the ones that were mounted to the small PCB, but the other ones work too. As for the magnets, any neodymium should work. The smaller the magnet the closer it will need to be to the sensor and vice versa.
honestly blown away by how you explain this stuff. I've been trying to build something and using RFID, and wifi on figures (think Skylander) that light up. your project with puzzle, power, and sound, K POWWW, is so awesome. thank you for posting.
Thank you!! Amazing tutorial, everything is explained so well.
I love your vid. Your energy is awesome! Thank you!! ❤
Where do I find a push latch?
Where did you get the push latch??
