    Thank you Lance for shining the spotlight on Carlos, a fellow Philippine-born compatriot. It’s funny to think, in my humble opinion, that male gymnasts can match the best female gymnasts in difficulty (except maybe Simone) but some men are even more aesthetically elegant on FX. Hoping Carlos brings home multiple event final Olympic medals. Also good luck to the US men’s team (the most recent Americans to have won an all-around medal (Fred Richard), multiple EF medals and a team bronze. The US men don’t receive enough credit and funding.

      Thank you for your kind message. When I look close at Carlos gymnastics, he really is so aesthetic, artistic and clean in his execution, gymnastics. He brings an elegance to men’s gymnastics that seems slightly forgotten since the difficult requirements increase so much. I also hope he has a great Olympics And performance, his routines the best that he can. All these athletes work so hard to accomplish what they do. It’s an exciting time. Thanks again and all my best.

    I really wanted him to win an AA medal this time. If only his pommels isn't abnormally weak which skews his score.
    He is a good rings worker and scores decent in high bar. If he surprises us with >13.00 PH and hits all of his routines he could contend for a bronze. But then again he also has issues with consistency...

    • @OLYMPIANTEACHES-bh6gp
      @OLYMPIANTEACHES-bh6gp  2 місяці тому +1

      Yes, if pommels, rings and high bar were more like vault, parallel bars and floor he could win all around. Yes, pommel horse is his biggest challenge for him and I think he just tries to stay clean and get through a good routine. With so much difficulty, it is a challenge to be consistent sometimes so I really he has a great olympic competition as I would love to see how he could finish and what medals he would get if he has a really great competition. Thanks and my best.

    The slo-mo shows how jarring the landings are to the body. My knees hurt!

    • @OLYMPIANTEACHES-bh6gp
      @OLYMPIANTEACHES-bh6gp  2 місяці тому +3

      Yes. Especially his handspring pike double front. I don’t think that’s a normal landing as that one looked more jarring than most. Either way, landing from such a high point after much velocity and momentum is demanding and requires a good technique to land properly. Most gymnast, myself included, Train so long and hard that landing from very high heights after flipping becomes much more natural and does not feel like the non-chemist would think it does. Of course, all were different as well. Thanks for the comment and rock on.

      I am an Olympic gymnast and competed for many years. All the top guys know each others gymnastic very deeply all the time. The judges already know everything I analyze. This video, in my perspective, only helps normal people understand and appreciate how good his gymnastics is. It often comes down to who has the best day. All my best to you.
