Another one I do now is to avoid doing it when it’s late in the day or evening. I always find I have less energy and tend to rush potentially causing more harm.

Great tips, I especially liked the not doing your hair when you're not in a good place at the time, wise words. As far as the parting advice from someone in the comments, it just goes to show we can all learn from each other. Thank you.

Thank you for the tips. I switch up my parts too ever since I noticed some breakage in the crown. And I did my hair early yesterday and slowly completed which lead me to have the afternoon and today all to myself. So much better when you have time versus no time.

Mya, these are some great tips. I have been using a shower filter and T-Shirts for drying hair since my transitioning days. Sometimes with the shape of my head, I am a little stubborn about changing parts, however I do the inching of the parting similar to how you demonstrated. Unlined hats can also be a sneaky culprit. I usually will wear a satin/silk scarf under my caps/hats if they are not satin or silk lined. Thank you for sharing! 😃

Great tips! I’d like to recommend an alternative for the advice you gave for dealing with hard water. Rather than using a clarifying shampoo it’s better to use a chelating shampoo. Clarifying shampoos will remove buildup from products and dirt but not most mineral deposits. Chelating shampoos are specifically formulated to bond to the metals and deposits in hard water. I used to have well water and chelating shampoos were the only thing that could fully remove the deposits in my hair. I used it maybe once every 4 months.

The friction with the towel happens when you rub your hair. I use normal towels but never rubbed since I was younger because I don’t want my hair to tangle 😅
Just tap your hair and if it’s still moist, perfect because it’s good to put products into moist hair

I was getting hair breakage in the back from my head rest in my car. She now wears a plastic processing cap. Cloth friction was the cause of my breakage.

DON'T TIE YOUR SCARF TOO TIGHTLY. Lack of proper blood flow leads to breakage.
