Hello this is my first video, I had a little collection of mkiv pictures so i decided to make a video one night when I was bored. If you like vws check out vwvortex
proud owner of two golfs mk4, i had, one mk3 jetta and one golf, and 2 mk4s jettas but sold them to buy the golfs, i love hatchs, i also have and audi a4 b6, love it too, I BLEED BLUE
This is a JTI, essentially the GTI hatch with a front end swap from a Jetta, since they are built on the same platform its a pretty common thing to do, vice versa works as well. And there is also the boser hood that just looks meaner.
This video is amazing!!! It has all kinds of modded V-Dubs from Euro to Stanced. I must say this video makes me want to buy a Volkswagen now. Great job
1.8T would probably be your best bet, theyre pretty fast stock and are pretty fuel efficient when you drive normally. The only downside is they take premium fuel which is usually a bit more expensive.
@shamshamblam No you shouldn't have to for any bumper the grille is seperate from the bumper, but when you do go badgeless on a jetta you have to fill the notch in the hood and for a golf you have to fill one in the hood and one in the bumper
1.8T= 1.8L turbo, two versions 150hp (pre 03) and the 180hp (03+). The 1.8t is fairly fuel efficient but requires you to run premium fuel. Its fairly quick stock and can be chipped for easy power.
They're decently reliable. If you get a domestic car (generally speaking) the parts and maintenance items will be less expensive than a foreign car. UA-cam isn't the place to learn about different cars. Go to a local German Performance shop (VW, Audi, BMW, Volvo) and ask them about these cars. They'll tell you what's the most reliable out of their region of expertise.
Thanks for the reply man. And thanks for the suggestion too, I surprsingly never thought about going to a German peformance shop lol. I'd much rather get the Jetta over the Civic & Accord beacuse I just love Volkswagens. But I'm just scared of needing a lot more of a budget to take care of the Jetta. So I'll definitely visit some German performance shops in the area.
@KIDxEXTRAORDINAIRESx the lights are called Angel Eyes. Like Extraordinaires said you can get them made by JOM and Helix and such, but by far the brightest and best quality are made by FK and Hella. Hope this helps
MK4= Mark 4 aka 4th generation of the jetta/golf years 1999.5-2005 in North America TDI= Turbo Diesel Injection, fuel efficient, pretty peppy, all round good car. There's two different types of TDI motors offered in the mk4, the mechanical injection ve motor (99.5-03) and the pumpe duse motor (04-05) which doesnt have an injection pump anymore.
@bcp88fx guessing you have one in yourn mk1/ mk2 / b3. Well the possiblities are endless cams, turbo, megasquirt, supercharged, exhaust, ignition upgrade, bore it out, port it, chip... etc, check out vwvortex
I was thinking of getting the Mk4 Jetta 1.8t for my first car. This car reliable? And how expensive is regular maintenace (oil changes, brakes, etc.)? I heard maintenace & parts can be expensive. Or at least more expensive than if I were to get a Civic or something. I'd like all replies possible. Thanks for the help!
mine at 4:55 with stock alloy 5, all leather sunroof black tint black decepticon sticker can only be seen at night through my window from touch screen! : ) oh no ski rack.
@drummer2285 Well that's the thing about twist's, there's a few variations of them and each have a different offset/ width so I can't really tell you what exact size adapters you would need also depends if you like poke/ flush but id say in general 25-30mm check out vwvortex.com and go to the forums and they'll be able to help you out .....
@Josapar2011 Don't do anything he told you.. Intake gives you minimal gains and it's not really worth the money just go with a chip(unitronic makes good chips) , exhaust, short ram/ cai if you really want.. The downpipe is what's most restrictive on these cars so get a 2.5" or 3" dp with a full exhaust and it's also recommended to get a better diverter valve NOT A BOV (it doesn't recirculate your air back into the manifold it just releases it into the atmosphere).check out vwvortex to learn more

Very cool video! I also addicted to VW's.
@shamshamblam I believe they are 17's and the rims are OZ futuras, galactic blue is an uncommon but nice colour.

@30conman Yeah, I feel that they suit mk4's very well and the fitiment with adapters is perfect.

Good to hear :)
It's actually because it is a Jolf. Golf with the front end of a Jetta. It also has eyelids (cheaper way of having boser hood)
what a coincidence, that's exactly what I need in my Jetta, a complete R32 drive-train....LOL

They're a BBS knock-off that used to be sold on ECS Tuning, but they're staggered, so they were not the ones specifically from ECS.
