WOAH after watching the tutorial abt the fundamentals of beatboxing, I just realized that BBK stands for "Beethoven, Beethoven, Kangaroo". Thanks, Spencer X! hahahahahaha lol
The way Spencer does his demon bass is quite unique bcz normally u don't need the uvula to do demon bass or at least I don't use the uvula when I do it
I agree with you. Those three basic sounds are simple enough that they can be explained quickly. The concept of inward bass is simple enough, too, but actually getting it is trickier. I thought it was more commonly talked about as being chest bass but inward rather than throat bass but inward. It's possible that the concept of demon bass is simple, too, but I couldn't really follow his explanation. Whether the uvula is used or not, I don't know, but if it is, he didn't really say how. The zipper seemed fine except I thought it was more commonly done on the side rather than the center, sort of like a lip roll is but much tighter and higher pitched. I think really short tutorials like this can be good if the sounds are very quick to learn, or at least understand, but the harder / more complex the sound, the more time the explanation should take. Just my thoughts from my fairly beginner perspective. :) Thanks for the video.
The normal zipper has always been done in the center. The side zipper is used by hiss and stuff. Typically its quicker and it’s easier to use in combos. It’s not a liproll cause the tongue positioning and also you don’t inhale air on a normal liproll.
My demon bass tutorial: Say “ehem” Now do it with a lot of force “EHEM” Then use the sound you made when you said the “H” Or go “ahhh” with your head voice and then go stronger and stronger until you hit “AHHHH” and you get that rasp thing. T
@@x9mc saying someone is morbidly fat is just body shaming. U have no idea what his weight is. Other than that u don’t know if this is even the difference the person from the og comment meant. Get ur head right and stop being so offensive.
Yeah I was going to comment this too, as a matter of fact I've known how to do inward bass perfectly for 2 years and still can't do a decent throat bass
I think Spencer X's tutorials kept me away from beatbox for so long, I thought I would make faces just like him while making the sounds and look like an idiot..
Wow, I read the comments and I think you guys better take it easy. Spencer chose the path of an entertainer, he is gaining views, which means people are interested. The beatbox community and mass media are different structures, let him present his content in the form in which he wants. Let's spread the positivity, after all, most of us don't know how to beatbox AT ALL.
I really hate that the beatbox community is so toxic towards him. As the biggest TikTok influence, he’s literally bringing in the most to beatboxing. He might not be a gbb pro but he’s still really good. And he’s a nice guy lol.
People really need to stop hating on Spencer X man Everyone's always like "Oh Spencer X is trash, I am better" bruh they most likely aren't. Yes, he's not a D-low or a Reeps One, most likely not a GBB level beatboxer, but he is certainly better than most random people out there. His sounds are actually pretty well-developed, but people often overlook his skill because of (a) his content creation style and frequent lip-syncs and (b) because of his toxic fan base, but that still doesn't make him a bad beatboxer. Cringy content does not equate to being bad at beatbox. Just my two cents
A valid argument for hating is that his content is cringy and he lip syncs often. Not that he is bad at beatboxing, he is very good at it. And moreover he has been doing the same stuff for many years, no new stuff.
He really needs to stop lip syncing, at this point he's become a bad representation of the beatbox community on Tiktok. Cringey content is ok, it's about keeping it real. I'd prefer watching Marcus, Hiss, Berywam and Dharni on Tiktok rather than Spencer. But tbh I don't really hate him. Sure he's overrated but I don't think people should incite hate on him
10:03 i can't really beatbox, but i can do throatbass, inward bass a little and demon bass, and for demon bass, you have to push down the beginning part of your throat, push your tongue to the top of your mouth and try to speak or scream from down in your throat. if this doesn't help, then try to act like you are struggleing during taking a really big poop, and your whole head feels like its gonna blow up, try to imitate the same push from your throat and speak during the process (you should not use your vocal chords, and you have to push down your throat like a frog:D)
im not spencer xs biggest fan (cough cough mission impossible) but i have to admit he explains it ok and he is exposing the scene to a different and very difficult audience. respect
I tried his "demon bass" and kinda got the idea of it...(not really, but here I go) do the vocal bass and do a cough(?) Block the pathway to your throat with the back of your tongue, and then cough... It hurts and itchy after trying it.
My demon bass is definitely not uvular, the better way to explain it for me is to start with chest bass and to constrict your chest bass until you get raspy overtones.
I get how eveyone most likely to criticize Spencer about how he don't really pleas much beatboxers and being cringe all in all, but it is still surprising how he have this special tricks like how a beatboxer beatboxes and have some bit of connections from the beatboxing scene. I mean he was former battler back then when he battled Napom and its surprising how underrated that was. But we still have to respect someone who was successful (not all) and be proud what they have to show us #mygrammartrash

How to do the zipper: Try to learn how to do a lip roll and never succeed. Shout-out to everyone who has been on the first step of learning a lip roll for 6 months now. 🙌🏻
Let me give you a advice, super easy way to learn liproll, ive made up a concept. Choose a side First. Open your mouth a little bit, Let your lips Touch though. Now do a fish Face, like Ur kiss Face just a little more tension. Now you place your jaw to the opposite Direction. If you want to Do the liproll on the left side as example, place Ur jaw to the right. Close your jaw now, your teeth should Touch. Now you have the perfect technique. Try to Do kisses on the side of your lips. Then you breath in with that Position and out, like non stop. Your liproll will come out very soon. Hope this helps.
Not to discourage, but it took me about 1.5 yrs to learn basic liproll, and another year for a barely functioning inward liproll (while I learnt teeth liproll in under a week with relative mastery)
