I love Sean and was very sad to learn about his death but I never got that joke to be honest. Maybe cause I am not from the UK . I just don't get it other than it's the mad genius of Sean Lock always saying mad things on the spot! If I am missing something the context or the whole thing, please do explain! Thanks !
Isn’t it amazing that even in the throes of end stage lung cancer, he still speaks articulately, with the same sharp humour. So much respect. RIP Sean.
I had the privillege of working at a festival where he was one of the acts performing each day. Almost a full month of getting to see him entertain folk. A genuinely kind soul.
I went to college in Waterford, Ireland. I worked part time for a security company that covered the nearby Kilkenny Cat Laughs Comedy Festival. Every year I worked it, I insisted on working Sean's gigs. He was such a kind and genuine guy, who had time for everybody around him. When I moved to Dublin after college, he asked the guy working his gig where I was and to make sure I knew he said hi. It's one of my great regrets that I never got a photo with him in the name of keeping a professional distance. I'm not ashamed to admit I cried the day he died.
photos can fade or degrade or be destroyed, however, you were able to find out that he asked about you, That is a gift worth remembering, most of the best moments of life go undocumented, but they still happened & thats worth the world.
He he didn’t have to try hard to do it either, he had such a unique and absurd style that made him who he is. He was so naturally gifted and such an amusing spirit. He will seriously be missed..
Every time I see Sean on any media I cry for his passing. We are used to losing our comedy icons as old men but this brilliant man was not expected to fall so soon x
I think also, no-one even knew about his cancer, so as you said it was such a shock! I remember just being in tears with this news, I still think about him even though it was years ago, Rest In peace lovely Sean.
This great fellas death has really affected me, And I think the whole nation... Just goes to show the mark this top fella has made... Rest in peace carrot in a box 🙏
As a Yank, I had no exposure to Sean while he was living. Now I find myself looking at everything I can find with him. He was brilliantly funny. I don't know how someone can miss someone they never knew in life, but I do.
Not only is he super funny and brings love and warmth to our home through his comedy, he takes the time out to do charity work.... even when he's dying of cancer. God bless him and he is GREATLY MISSED. Love and respect to you Sean.
Sorely missed, amazingly funny guy, sadly he’s not with us anymore!! Gone but definitely not forgotten Sean, you’ve brought so much laughter to our household especially every time we listen to the tiger who came for a pint!!!! RIP Sean Lock
I'm an American who adored Sean and was heartbroken when he passed. I miss him on cats does countdown he was one of the reasons I got hooked on that show. ❤
I've only recently got to experience the sheer brilliance that was Sean Locke. I only wish I had been able to enjoy his comedy earlier before his untimely death. He was and is a comedic genius.
He was always very outspoken on these kind of things. Part of the many reasons I respected him as a comic and as a person. He genuinely seemed to care about people and he wasn't afraid to show it. He spent an entire life making other people happy and he lived a great life. Top bloke.
This was such a shock as Sean never disclosed his illness & was such a talented person and is so missed by everyone & not forgotten now entertaining up there in the heavens
Missing you buddy. You arent just a top comedian, youre a genuinely nice bloke. Nice is bigger than people think. You made humanity laugh even during the difficult times. You deserved so much longer. You leave a massive hole. Devasting for your family and friends and all of us who were your audience. Thank you our friend🥲
Wish you were still here, hugely missed still in 2024 mate, tv land is certainly missing something these days since you left. Thanks again for the great laughs you provided us all, Top bloke 🕊️ 🍺
I sadly grew up in a part of the world where you weren't on TV, so thanks to internet i found out about you only after you have passed away. But i will remember your name Sean Lock, you were hilarious and a great man. And what a great last message to the world, my friend. You and your humor will be missed so much.
Although I live over the pond and we've never met, I miss ya mate. The world just isn't the same. Rest easy knowing that you're still making people laugh.
Not many people are remembered so fondly by so many as Sean. He was a grumpy git who made so many people's lives a little brighter through his comedy, and his actions. I miss him.
Personal legend even for an English man. The world has lost a wee bit of its heart; but the universe has gotten back a wee bit more of its soul. One day ☘🍀
From the US, much love to Sean Lock. You were a great comic, and apparently, a great person to film this while at the end of your life. As an American, I don't know how much 50p is, but it sounds like a great deal to serve a meal...provided it isn't just a carrot in a box. :)
I still.....still cannot believe he's no longer with us. He was a main reason I loved 8 out of 10 cats does countdown. Incredibly sad he's left this life

It brings me a big smile to think that you are up there in Heaven with the greats in comedy who have gone on be for you and making Heaven laugh so hard they cannot breath and soak a towel in laughter tears. Godspeed Sean Locke.
What a great guy trying to help others even when his own life is almost over. He will be sorely missed.

Yeah my dad went from a big built guy to someone unrecognisable before he passed of cancer.
Why feel the need to pint out his size? Everyone knows what he was going through, don't be so CRASS & tasteless.
