I wish they would focus more on the game. The show has become so scripted and overly produced. The broadcasts should not be drastically diffrent from the live feeds.
Why watch the show for shouty, scripted confessionals when you can just watch the 2-minute clips of actually interesting things happening in the house on UA-cam each day?
I think a big reason why Survivor stays more interesting with shifting alliances throughout the game more likely is because of the initial grouping and swaps. Even Survivor all-star season pre-game alliances aren't going to necessarily all make it to the merge. What was obvious about this BB season is how easy it is for strong pre-game BB alliances to just steamroll the competition.
Here’s a good idea for a rule change: the HOH should not be allowed to tell anyone who they nominated. Only the HOH and eventual POV winner will be allowed to know until final nominations are announced to the entire house on eviction night. That should stir up a lot of drama and paranoia.
That's an interesting idea, but the concept of HOH, POV and other advantages should be completely shaken up every season. The rewards and challenges should not be physical, but save a few. Weekly games should be constructed around concepts of chance, trust, social awareness, humiliation, personal sacrifice, mental endurance, and intelligence.
In essence, Big Brother is supposed to be like the merge, but all game as it stands right now. The safety net of having only 2 people available to go home is what causes so much lackluster gameplay.
@@OnceUponAnIsland Maybe a twist in which they broke the house in half for a week and there was a HoH for each half in a double eviction week? That at least could be a twist that shakes up the game. Maybe it's too Survivorish though.
That bbcan2 Canada HOH looking pretty good right about now lol 😂 Also i wouldnt be mad at a return of the bb15 MVP twist. That could have worked nicely this season.
I had a simiar idea, for shaking up the HOH, but instead the HOH nominates two players for safety and the POV holder can steal that safety and give it to someone else or themselves. The exact powers of HOH and POV should change every season.
I mean it's an interesting idea, but it's not Big Brother. Big Brother has always had two nominees, even before the HOH ever existed. The HOH isn't really the head of anything if all they do is make one person safe. You wouldn't really even need a whole episode for one person's safety as it would likely be the HOH's closest ally and it holds a lot less gravity than the nominations. You could have the HOH pick half the house to be safe and the other half to not be, forcing them to make a move for or against everyone in the house and allowing for a lot more people to be up for elimination, but it's not really Big Brother anymore, but that's why I made a new gameshow based off that idea...
@@OnceUponAnIsland definitely need this, we need the stories of Janelle, Kaysar, Chilltown, Evel Dick, Dan, Brittany, The Brigade, Derrick, Vanessa, Paul, Tyler, ect.

Would you ever consider doing a dream Big Brother Season, similar to the Survivor Atlantis Video you did some time ago, you could either format this in either the modern version of Big Brother or even in this new way that you describe here!
Survivor doesn't have live feeds, silly costumes, competitions for money, three episodes a week, the Chenbot, lackluster editing and storytelling, and scripted DR's. I am sure I am missing quite a bit more.
The show itself is so predictable that the houseguests know exactly what and when things are happening within the show. I love your idea about had of household, I would just want to add that production change it up some as well. That way the HGs can't predict what's happening at any given time (example-what week is the double eviction or what week OTEV shows up, or even what type of challenge will be coming up) things like that. I would love to see them go back old school when the HGs didn't even have a clock or had to compete for their luxuries like the hot tub, exercise equipment, cards, games etc.. Now it's all handed to them & they don't have to rely on themselves or imagination for entertainment. Just my opinion, also along with more diversity they throw in some more players of different sizes & ages.
Ok here me out we have the hoh comps done separately and the players dont know who the hoh is until the veto ceremony allowing players to lie and cause more distrust and about who potentially nominated them
I think a more diverse cast, like season 10. I’m not sure what happened to those kinds of casting choices. But also, I would want one person safe, and then the veto ceremony allows another to be safe, instead of the first person safe being able to choose. Then the house votes. If there is a tie, they play a competition and the winner is safe. (Lol your idea is a little more thought out, I’m speaking from my ass)
I think this weekly format would help. 1. HoH competition, HoH picks haves and have nots, they are safe for the week. 2. Nomination ceremony involves each person including HoH privately choosing someone for block. Top 2 vote getters are nominees. Vote totals not announced, HOH breaks ties. 3. Veto ceremony (crystal power of veto), but due to format more people may be inclined to use veto. Veto winner replaces nominee rather than HoH. 4. Secret vote for eviction, vote count only announced for ties. HoH still breaks ties.
Since we are throwing out twist ideas, here's one of mine (I'll post more when I have time). The HoH stays intact, nominating two people for eviction. However, instead of voting to evict someone, the houseguests vote to give one of the nominees an advantage in a head-to-head elimination competition. This could be a separate challenge for Thursday's show, or could just be the following HoH competition (which is my preference) . Whichever nominee performs better in the competition stays in the game (regardless of the advantage) and the other is evicted. This has a number of (in my opinion, positive) side effects.: No one volunteers to be a pawn, as a single comp can now send you out. Backdooring someone is less likely. If the eviction comp is the next HoH, the advantage granted by the house could "gift" the next HoH to the nominee who stays, causing the power to shift more often. The HoH now has to be much more careful about their nominations. Do you target a comp beast who might stay (and even win the next HoH), or try to play it safe and nominate weaker challenge threats (which leaves the comp beast in the game)?
Here's another one (and I am DEFINITELY going to do homework after this): A money comp as a built-in luxury on the Sunday show. It's an individually run competition. If the HOUSE performs sufficiently well, a certain amount of money is added to the winner's prize fund (up to $500K more, perhaps?). The whole house could play, or this could be on a volunteer basis only (similar to Safety Suite). This would add a layer of drama to the nominations, as someone could throw a comp to screw over the rest of the house in they feel they have no chance to stay. It would also encourage keeping the stronger competitors around longer, as they might help the winner get more money - but at what cost?
My Revamp of Big brother. 1. Remove all power or safety competitions. The Luxury comp aka ability to use warm shower and sleep in a bed replaces HOH, and the Food challenge aka avoiding slop would replace the veto. 2. Allow America to rank the houseguests each week. Then at the end of the week, each player gets to move the list UP (Each place moves up one spot and first place moves to last place) move the list Down (Each spot moves down one spot and last place becomes first place) or swap 2 players spots if they are opposite (1 & 8, 2 &7, 3 & 6, 4 & 5). All the players would also rank each other and based on the player ranking would be the order they vote. Person who is at the bottom at the end gets evicted. It would require everyone to talk to everyone, and make alliances less relevant. I know its crazy but eh lol.
whomever has the most followers on twitter would never be at the bottom of the list so I don't think that's gonna work people can just count on there followers to vote for them .
@@joshp1579 we are gonna have bad season good seasons meh one. It's only natural. When you try to drastically change the game year after year it gets bad I think.
I know that you said that this is "still Big Brother," but the HoH and Safety comps sound a lot like the Immunity Challenges and Hidden Immunity Idols from that "other" show... Minimal people safe, with everyone else up for elimination. This has potential, but will invite comparisons.
Big Brother changed its format with Big Brother 2 to be more like Survivor and draw in viewers from that show. My proposal is to take another step in the direction to get better gameplay on TV and on the live feeds.
It may not need to be that drastic, but we certainly need more than two at risk per week. Otherwise the larger alliances can dominate. I like these changes. Then again, I only watched this season because there was no Survivor.
What about adding a third nominee? I know I say that and some people vomit thinking of BB15, but the third mystery nominee was something actually good. The worst part in my opinion was giving that nominee to whoever america voted for, even though it did result in the really funny moment of America not listening to the rules and nominating the same person they'd been supporting the whole season, I think that moment should be one of a kind. I'm thinking of another competition. We proved way back with Battle of the Block, that there is time to do a 3rd competition each week. My pitch is that before the veto competition each contestant gets called to the DR and asked if they want to play, or pass. Anyone who plays gets to remain playing in the veto if they were chosen, but after the veto, there's another comp with everyone who passed competing for the ability to elect a 3rd nominee. Since it's super unlikely in these circumstances that the nominees would forfeit the veto, and the majority of people who would do this are already safe, have this be the way to pick the next week's have-nots as well. This could be done as both a public game, or a secret one, either public where everyone watches and knows who is making the extra nomination, or secretly in the form of a DR quiz about the house, game or other players. Since behind the scenes we know that players are called to the DR at regular intervals by Big Brother, nobody needs to be suspicious about being called there. Every twist needs a test season though, so here's my pitch in case any CBS intern reads YT comments and somehow finds this. Since next year is election year, run this idea as the test twist, and call it the third party.
