First of all, you spelled it wrong. Astigmatism is the correct spelling. Astigmatism has to do will the shape of the cornea. An astigmatic cornea is more oval/egg shaped instead of being a spherical.

Astigmatism basically means that your cornea is more oval shaped instead of being spherical. An oval cornea is steeper in one direction than another
