It was funny watching you guys do the tires changes. There is no easy way if you don't have the proper tools required 😉

After watching 2 minutes of this, I’ll just pay a shop to do it. Thanks for the video.

When you had the bar on the back side was correct for the last bead .you put pressure with the bar then take a rubber mallet and tap on the bead walking it off the rim. Also if you soap it up good most of the time the tire will pop off without the mallet. Great job and a lot of work that away. Lol

How's the 450 handling two people? Is the engine big enough or would it be better to get a 570? Am shopping at the moment... Thanks for your time and as always, fun video!

Sometimes a cargo strap tightened around the tire tread circumference so that it compresses the tread and forces the bead outward works, requires a little less air to seat the bead. Loosen the strap as the tire fills.

I've done that for trailer tires before, forgot about that. Thanks!

From what I have heard it is hard to break the bead on the deep side of the wheel (your first attempt). Looks like you broke the bead after flipping the tire to the shallow side?

  • @RARufus
    @RARufus 5 місяців тому

There are easier ways to break the bead. You can use wood clamps or the jack and strap method.

Alot of satisfaction doing it by hand, it's so worth having it done by some one else with a tire machine tho lol.

Yeah the going rate here is 10 bucks a tire so it's easy and cheap to have someone else do it really. But we just wanted it give it a whirl ahah. Thanks for watching

@@MainvilleATV I wish it was 10 bux a tire here in Sudz, remove & reinstall is 15 to 18. and I swear, it takes them almost as long with machines as it takes me to do them manually. I worked in tires for about 10 years, a set of 4 bike tires was a 10-15 min job.

Agreed. Did it once on a set of rears, will bring to tire shop going forward haha

Get you a old bumper jack to break them down and if you get aluminum rim aluminum side the front side is bigger around than the backside the tire has to come off towards the back of the rim

When u remove the wheel which way do you loosen the nut? The normal to the left?

I played this game yesterday. I busted one tire off the rim 4 times, trying to get it to stop leaking around the bead. Ended with a trip to carquest for some bead sealer

do yourself a favor, go to Princess auto an grab 2 of the 16" tire bars, on sale often for $8 ea. night and day difference compared to using the pry bars you used.
lube off and on, much less work. dish soap with very little water works best
air up without the valve core, more airflow this way will push the beads out easier and faster. if your chuck won't work without the core, either use the tip of a blow gun, or just use the female quick connect on the end of the hose directly on to the stem. once beads seat, screw in the core and pump to 20psi and leave them at 20 for atleast a couple hours before dropping to riding pressure. this stretches the rubber tight onto the rim ensuring a good seat, it also allows the lube to evaporate and dry.

My tires are 23x10 -12 it's ok to change it to 25 x10-12 because it is hard find the original sizes of my tire

I put my "Safety Squints" on when he was removing the bead on the first tire...that pry bar was aimed right at his forearm, if it had slipped YIKES!
