On the morning of Friday, July 19, 2024, HE Peng Po, Minister of Public Works and Transport, attended the inauguration ceremony of the signpost of Xi Jinping Blvd. Chan Thol, First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, High Representative of the Kingdom of Cambodia, His Excellency Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and HE Wang Winpin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Cambodia His Excellency, Lok Chumteav, leaders, civil servants of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, as well as relevant ministries and institutions, national and international guests, teachers, students and many people.
Please be reminded that on May 28, 2024, at the Peace Palace, the Third Ring Road was named "Xi Jinping Blvd" under the high presidency of His Excellency Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia and Mr. Wang Vin Thien. H.E. Mr. Wang Wentian, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China
According to HE Peng Poena, the naming of Xi Jinping Boulevard is a new testament between Cambodia and China, which embodies the meaning of the long-standing and progressive bilateral relationship. An inseparable level, as well as showing the highest level of attention and gratitude of the Royal Government and the people of Cambodia to be inscribed as a historical memorial and a great honor of His Excellency's honor and prestige. President Xi Jinping, as well as the Chinese government and people, have always actively supported the causes of peace, stability and economic growth, improving the living standards of the Cambodian people and the development of Cambodia.
The Minister further stated that Xi Jinping Blvd., 47.10 km long, is the main road through Phnom Penh and Kandal Province, starting from km 24 + 840 of National Road No. 1 to km 14+. 105 of National Road No. 4 was officially inaugurated on August 3, 2023 under the high presidency of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, former Prime Minister and current President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
This boulevard is connected to the grid and connects to the main provincial and national road network in Phnom Penh and Kandal Province and connects to ASEAN Highway 1 (AH-1), ASEAN Highway 11 (AH). -11), Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway, the first expressway and connected with the Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway, which is under construction and planned to be completed in the near future.
He added that after its official launch nearly a year ago, Xi Jinping Boulevard has boosted the potential for growth of all kinds of goods and facilitated the movement of people from one area to another. No need to go through Phnom Penh, which can reduce traffic congestion and save time.
