When Isaac's mother starts hearing the voice of God demanding a sacrifice be made to prove her faith, Isaac escapes into the basement facing droves of deranged enemies, lost brothers and sisters, his fears, and eventually his mother.
The Binding of Isaac is a randomly generated action RPG shooter with heavy Rogue-like elements. This game is so addicting. I played it for 3 hours straight when I first downloaded it. The DLC just makes even more awesome!
Bought this on Steam last week for the price of a Taco Bell meal. Love the art style and smoothness of it. Zelda 1 fans will love it. Controls were a little different, but easy to learn. Animations are smooth, has personality that other games lack.
dude... this is one of the best games iv'e ever played. LITERALLY even though the last 2 endings and the entire game is a bit demented

This game may not look like much at first, but it has a certain charm to it that almost no game can master. :D
This game has billions of different combinations. No exaggeration either.
It's the kind of game that has to grow on you. Once you watch a few gameplay videos, you'll want more.
Of course though, I cannot fault you for your own opinions, but I'd think I'd help you a bit.
You shouldn't miss out on this game because of first impressions. :P

Who’s here after Repentance?
It looks really fun, mostly because of the roguelike structure of the game. I'm buying it. Who wouldn't for $5? It'll probably have more variety, challenge and replay value than most $60 games.
This was without doubt the greatest game purchase I've ever made.
It is religious-based. But people find the game's creativity well that it was praised from it, and much controversy didn't rose as expected.
Not sure if religious or not but it really isnt demonic in a sense, it tells you a story from the bible and actually features other stuff from the bible such as the 7 sins, but fuck all that stuff, its an amazing game and i'll play it forever!
After Isaac got out, he grew up and became engineer, met Nicole Brennan and send her to Ishimura mission. The only thing that differs the events before and later is that Isaac metamorhs his pain and sadness not through tears, but with explosive plasma, nails, sawdiscs and explosive stuff. Playing games like this you endure reality and may ask the same question as did Hamlet did, become hero of Sherwood and etc. . Or you can just shoot the hell out of everything you see moviing. Just like I did.

@LordfishKeke It's less polished than SMB, but the game is defiantly worth $5. $10 is still a reasonable asking price, considering how many items, bosses, and enemies there are.

@LordfishKeke You notice how it's all sequels? If that's not indication for lack of original ideas I don't know what is. Not that there aren't good sequels, but it shows in what a lowrisk environment the AAA industry operates at the moment.
I start to doubt that you even know what a rougelike is. Because it's more then just randomized elements.
It could be, considering that the intro cutscene is drawings and so is the start menu and everything, also that after killing mom the cutscence after that

This game is has almost infinite replayability, because the dungeons and item drops are randomized.
How do you know it doesn't have a narrative if you haven't played it?
This isn't a rougelike. It's a rougelike-like at best.
I'd rather promote this type of games, then the triple A industry. Those guys are completely void of original ideas and rereleased the same brown covershooter for years now.

@LordfishKeke You seem quite the pessimist. I've a suggestion that will help you throughout your life: instead of looking at something and just pointing out its flaws, consider its merits instead. You'll find it's a much more positive outlook and you'll be happier in the long run for doing so.

So since when cheap algorithms and simple games = always bad? Have you played this game at all? Its like saying Tetris (Cheap random algorithm) Minecraft (Always the same Cheap map creation algorithm) Terraria (Same) are bad.
And dont take me wrong but this is a very good cheap game. Dont judge if you didnt even play it. Cause simple & cheap indie games can be better than some mainstream games.

In the intro cut scene, they say his mother rid Isaac of everything impure, including stripping him of his clothes.
