The trailer music sounds like this movie can take us on a fun and magical adventure, and it's absurdly hysterical.
Stevie The trailer music is the main theme of the 1993 movie "Dave" starring Kevin Kline.
@Stevie another part of the trailer music comes from the soundtrack of the 1992 film "Radio Flyer". ua-cam.com/video/HrFbzsnnbbU/v-deo.html
Also there’s music from Radio Flyer.
Fun fact: wood can still fit into his wardrobe from this film.
lol
Hahahahahahaha.
I watched this movie as a kid and found it amusing.
Before Movie 43 existed, this is the most notorious film ever made.
„The movie north, were he stays with all the families” Trixie Mattel
Did she actually mention this movie once
Just here since Roger Ebert called this the worst film he ever reviewed.
This movie came out when I was 8, I saw it in the theaters and even then I could identify it was a very bad movie
When Shout Factory Releases North on Blu Ray they should Put Roger Ebert's Quote on the Back "I Hated hated hated hated this movie!" And they should Put Gene Siskel's quote on the Front of the Blu Ray "First Class Junk"
I loved this movie as kid :)
One of my favourite films. I can't believe it came out 22 years ago! Where has the time gone?
yes amazing movie..time gone in 100 dicks
ivan kučinić 100 dicks..hmmm
Almost 30 now. Insane
In 1992, Rob Reiner directed one of the best movies of his career: A Few Good Men (YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH!)
2 years later, he directed one of the worst movies of, not only his career, but of all time!
And he defended it. He said this about the movie in an interview with Archive of American TV:
“I loved doing it, and some of the best jokes I ever had in a movie, are in that movie. I made this little fable, and people got mad at me, because, you know, I had done When Harry Met Sally..., and Misery, and A Few Good Men, and everybody said 'Oh, it should be a more important kind of movie.' I said, 'Why? Why can't you just make a little slice of a fable or something?'”
In an Interview with Archive of American Television Rob Reiner Defended North, Saying
"I Loved doing it, and some of the best jokes i ever had in a movie, are in that movie. I made this little fable and people got mad at me, because, you know, I had done When Harry Met Sally and Misery and A Few Good Men, and everybody said Oh, it should be a more important kind of movie. I Said, Why? Why Can't you just make a little slice of a fable or something?
I'm only here for Elijah Wood!!! He's one of my top 5 favorite actors of all time!!
yeah we all love lotr but wahttttt did u say bud?
"I hated this movie. Hated hated hated hated hated this movie. Hated it. Hated every simpering stupid vacant audience-insulting moment of it. Hated the sensibility that thought anyone would like it. Hated the implied insult to the audience by its belief that anyone would be entertained by it."
Roger Ebert's review of North
He was too kind.
& now he's dead !
He actually gave it zero stars and he rarely ever gave zero
You're too nice. I'm the Nostalgia Critic I remember it so you don't have to.
No truer words have been spoken.
That moment when you look up the trailer of the terrible film where Bruce Willis was dressed up as a pink rabbit and realise that the kid in the film was Elijah Wood. Heartbroken.
I remembers when this came out and seeing it on VHS! Bruce Willis in that pink bunny suit I definitely remember that & that little snobby blonde 4 eyes kid
I love this film when I was a kid. its not the worst movie ever for sure... I think ppl took this film too seriously and it was supposed to be silly and fun not the sequel for "A few good men"
Most people seem to take issue with how absurd it is, but it's written from the perspective of a kid's imagination. It's not supposed to be realistic in any way.
0:56 for the reason you're all here.
I used to watch this film all the time as a kid, even back then I knew it was wierd. I need to watch it again now at age 41 as a parent... would be a very different experience.
Had a flashback of George Costanza being tricked into rejecting his son by saying “we don’t want Hugh” and ended up here. I have no other memory of this film.
Just realized George and Elaine are North’s parents
It’s fucking weird seeing them cuddle.
I came specifically for that.
And his lawyer is Gary Fogel! 😄
For some reason I have always thought Macaulay Culkin was also in this film. Guess that's one of those Berenstein/Berenstain things.
You might be thinking of "the good son" that he and Elijah Wood were both in, came out around the same time
Jussie "I Went out for sandwiches in -20 degree weather" Smollett is also in the movie.
This movie was infamous for Roger Ebert's harshest review yet. And this movie never won a single Razzie. Let that sink in. Not even a Seinfeld reunion couldn't even save this.
George and Elaine got married?
Here cause of the zoom reunion of lotr fellowship. Who else ??
I loved this movie when I was a kid Lol
That's because children are dumb.
And now?
@@SONOFABITCH children are not dumb
me too hahahaha
@@eijorgep really? Then ask a kid what's 5 times 5
"The ethnic stereotyping is appalling... it's embarrassing. You feel unclean as you're sitting there. It's junk - first. class. JUNK!!" - Gene Siskel
Live this movie & Elijah Woods in it
Rreiner said he loves this movie but Ebert ruined it, and him. Rob Reiner's first 8 movies:
1984 This Is Spinal Tap
1985 The Sure Thing
1986 Stand by Me
1987 The Princess Bride
1989 When Harry Met Sally.
1990 Misery
1992 A Few Good Men
Then North .. then kaka.
I remember this movie when it came out, I was 5. And ever scine I have been trying to remember what the movie was. I just remember when he wakes up in mall
Every once in awhile I remember this movie and wonder if it wasn't just a dream I had, and did Bruce Willis really play the Easter Bunny? So I have to look it up and watch the trailer just make sure I'm not crazy
90's was the best time ever
And that's because you were young.
@@SONOFABITCH whatever boomer
@@justinratcliffe947 One day you will understand, child.
Roger Ebert's book called I hated hated hated this movie has his notorious review of this movie.
WTF is Roger Ebert
There are smart movies for kids and then there are dumb movies for kids. This falls squarely in the latter category but that didn't stop HBO Family from filling time with it.
Roger Ebert: I hated this movie..I hate hate hate hate hate hate hate this movie....zero stars.....
"comedy" 0:26
I feel bad for everyone invovled especially Bruce Willis, Elijah Wood, Elaine and George, Dan Akyroyd and Kathy Bates. Especiallky for Dan and Kathy. Both of them are talented and they should have known better. Plus, Kathy looked like a barn owl with that white makeup around her eyes that pretty much didn't clash against her 'Eskimo face' makeup. And Dan Aykroyd...Dan, Dan Dan...I love you, just don't do THAT ever again.
I found this music on the movie is called Radio Flyer.
Great movie.
I hated, hated, hated, hated, hated, hated, hated, hated, hated, hated this movie!
Makes the mistake of assuming that a 'quirky' premise automatically makes it good. See also Toys (1992).
i like both toys and this movie
At least Toys is visually stunning. Can't say the same about this one.
I haaate Joan Cusack, I think it all started because of Toys
@@Machinelf agreed but she was funny in grosse point blank have to say
Except Robin Williams was likable unlike Elijah Wood
very nice
Why are people hating on this movie. I liked it. It maybe had a required taste of humor. But ive seen way worse movies that had this type of comedy, and none of them are hated like this.
Nah man I think it was shit, idk who reviewed it but
Its kitsch? idk...the death of art? lol, is that enough>
Wow, Costanza became a dad?
When he got it on with Elaine.
Wait, George and Elaine are the parents?
A young Elijah Wood in a film that folks say is "Stupid"..... but me I have yet to check it out asap
😂😂😂..
I love this movie
I saw this movie, at the movie theater. It was okay. I only saw it, cause Elijah Wood was in it. If, it was a different boy actor. I probably wouldn't seen it.
Same! I was a huge Elijah Wood fan and saw it in theaters - I think my friends and I were the only ones in that theater.
i love his hat
cool
I’m old as sin and I’ve never seen this. I think it may be because at the time it was released I had devoted my life to injecting foreign substances into my body. Well, to my surprise as much as yours, I’m off the skag and still kickin. I’ll have to give it a watch..
i love the movie
They cut out the best part, We don't want Hue.
Nostalgia this trailer takes me back
i love his car
i love they house
good movie
I like it.
thank you Kristin everybody's a critic now a days
Trevis Gonzales well i love old movies :) i am even in the process of making one now, i started it a few days ago, it's gonna be my biggest movie :) it's about a little boy and his best friend dog - adventure/drama/action :)
what was the music before the main theme of dave?
Its awesome music - it's from the Radio Flyer soundtrack. You can hear it here ua-cam.com/video/Dqx9je2X_4A/v-deo.html
@@CappaZack but when in the soundtrack (I mean the start at:)
@@CappaZack You know, several years ago, I remember seeing online an extended ending of North where after he went home from the mall, he had a heart-to-heart talk with his parents in his bedroom. Unfortunately, I can't find it anywhere anymore. Could you please help me?
“We don’t want Hugh” that line somehow got stuck
Thank god elijah wood managed to bounce back from this movie
Roger Ebert and Gene Siskel were correct when they said that this movie was junk but a lot of actors and actresses start off their careers by appearing in bad movies. "North" is considered to be one of the worst movies ever made because all of the characters in the film are unpleasant, the jokes fall flat in every scene, this film is filled with insulting and unnecessary stereotypes, Bruce Willis just seems awkward in this movie, the other actors and actresses in "North" don't do anything memorable, the story doesn't make any sense and the fact that the majority of the film took place during a dream that the main character was having doesn't really add much to the film. If you've never seen "North" then you aren't missing anything.
+TAhowardrocks I hope you enjoyed this journey of racist insensitivity. Allow us to replace the credits with the words "We're Sorry" a hundred times!
This movie is...amazing! It actually goes beyond belief! In today's PC world for a film like this to get made, let alone for kids, it's scary as shit!
How could anyone greenlight this? How could anyone sign on for it? How could they get all these big name stars for such an ugly piece of cinematic prostitution?!
Maybe Rob Reiner thought he had too many good films and needed a bad film to even it out. Personally, I now see why Siskel and Ebert hated this film so much. And I really agree with Roger Ebert when he ended his review by saying:
I hated this movie! Hated, hated, hated, hated, hated this movie! Hated it! Hated every simpering stupid vacant audience-insulting moment of it!
+TAhowardrocks I remember when the Nostalgia Critic reviewed "North" (1994). He said he saw the trailer for "North and thought it looked harmless enough (even though the Nostalgia Critic never actually saw the movie). The Critic was a big fan of the "Siskel and Ebert Show" and was shocked at their review of "North" and decided to review it to see why they hated it.
+badgerman Movie trailers can be really deceptive. Case and point, there were people who thought that "After Earth" was going to be a somewhat decent movie. They were wrong. If "North" was shown to people in today's politically correct world then this film would have been given the same treatment as "The Garbage Pail Kids Movie" and it would end up being taken out of theaters. Seeing how the cast in this painful movie were wasted, that wouldn't have been a bad thing. Every copy of "North" deserves to be locked in an underground vault or burned and they should get rid of "Catwoman" and "The Garbage Pail Kids Movie" too. "North" is to comedies what "Battlefield Earth" is to science fiction movies.
Good point
+TAhowardrocks
Sure, "North" (1994) is considered one of the worst movies ever made, but at least it wasn't bad enough to ruin the careers of Elijah Wood (who played the main character in the movie) and Scarlett Johanson (who got her start in "North"). However, I feel that this film did hurt Rob Reiners career to a certain extant.
Now this movie should be featured in Mystery Science theater 3000
As someone who loved this movie as a kid, I'd love to see that. Even though my child self liked it, I can admit how objectively terrible it is.
*what would have happened if George and Elaine had a kid
Me after watching Death Becomes Her: I guess Bruce Willis will always be on par with his usual roles no matter what movie he's in
Me after watching North: Son of a BITCH!!!!!!!!!!
i love they limo
I feel sorry for ALL the actors that took part in this rubbish

You took the words right out of my mouth.
Sure
+Streatham Soprano During Siskel and Eberts review, they said it made them cringe and feel unclean. They reviewed tons of bad movies, North was the one that made them cringe and feel unclean. I guess the reason why is because of what I originally posted. Ebert and his co-host on Siskel and Ebert, Gene Siskel, both pronounced it the worst film of 1994, a decision they each came to independently. Richard Roeper (Siskels replacement), would later go on to list North as one of the 40 worst movies he's ever seen, stating, "Of all the films on this list, North may be the most difficult to watch from start to finish. I've tried twice and failed. Do yourself a favor and don't even bother. Life is too short."
Me too, especially for Dan Akyroyd in my case and also Kathy Bates. And I hope Kathy went all Annie Wilkes on whoever wrote it.
I remember hating this film as a kid but the trailer makes it look better than I remember. Should I re-watch this?
Lmao, read Ebert's review, then decide
If you didn't like it as a kid, you won't now.
never see that coming
This is one of the most offensive, unfunny and miserably promoted movies of all time, from the early days of cinematic history to this very second.
Mr Reiner was legally regarded at the time of this abominations conception and remained so throughout filming.
Fling this piece of goat shit in a Time Capsule so a select few humans 1,000 years from now can time travel back to 1994 and energy-ray zap the studio before this rotting reeking slice of embarrassing defecation could be made.
“I hate it hate it hate it.”
Worse than Willis’s music and singing career.
Ah, respect yourself, Bruce!
It's not the best movie ever but neither is it the worst movie ever. I think too many people are sheep and latched onto Ebert's every word. I feel like a lot of people in the comments are just regurgitating what they believe is the right thing to say because Ebert made it a popular thing to hate the film. I've seen way worse movies, especially from the 90s, this I wouldn't even put in the top 10.
Exactly. Sheep
People take the film too seriously. North is not a serious film and shouldn't be viewed as such. I also think liking it depends on being the right age when the film came out.
Wait isn’t this song from Radio Flyer
what song from radio flyer?
@@bridiemurphy7994 the song that plays in the beginning of the trailer. It’s called “Radio Flyer Part II”. It’s part of the score for Radio Flyer
The book was stupid to begin with.
am I the only one who remembers seeing this terrible movie back when it was on the Disney Channel?
Oh this is what the worsr move ever looks like ?
saw it as a kid, loved it.
then I grew up and read the reviews =(
our imagination dies every time we 'review' a movie instead of watching it
So someone else’s opinion changed your own? Weird
Anyone old enough to care what movie reviews say is too old to have liked this movie. This is one of those movies that kids liked and adults despised.
A movie where George and Elaine are married? Huh.
One of the greatest movies ever made. Make your kids watch it everyday. They will love you for it.
Not only is this film vastly underappreciated (by Ebert and others), it is the greatest movie of ALL TIME. I'm not kidding. It's better than The Shawshank Redemption, The Godfather, Goodfellas, Gone With the Wind, Aliens, etc. It's better than all of those movies COMBINED.
I would love for you to explain to us why.
With all due respect sir, are you on crack ?
"This movie is better than Shawshank Redemption. And I won't bother to elaborate why I think so. That is up to your imagination." - Elmo Blatch, a person who genuinely enjoyed the movie, definitely not a troll
lolololol
Truth
This movie is underrated. It is so good. Maybe that is my nostalgia talking but I loved it as a kid and still do.
Yes, it is your nostalgia talking. This movie is objectively terrible.
Yes, it's objectively terrible. But it isn't subjectively so, if you were 9 years old in 1994. @@curly_wyn
it's spidey.
Movie was so bad even made roger ebert hate this movie.
And nostalgia critic took a stab at it
I Hated this Movie, Hated hated hated Hated this Movie. Hated it - Roger Ebert
I'm here looking for the worst movie ever, after seeing 'Borat 2'. I would give 'Borat 2', two stars out of 5. Not as funny as the first. At all. The 'shock value' of the first movie was fresh, daring, irreverent. In Borat 2, it seems forced, and fake. Cohen seems to ask: How can we increase the gross-out factor? I know! Moon blood! Was there really any need for Maria to do a dance with her period blood running down her legs? Sorry -- NOT funny. Sacha can't seem to decide whether to make a movie that is 'shocking', a comment on current American politics, or a insincere paste-up about family/human relationships. He tries for all three -- and none of them succeed. A year from now, just like "North", most people will not even remember Borat 2. And ten years from now, no one will remember who Rudy Guiliani was, or what all the controversy was about.
I'm not trying to undercut any of your points here, except that:
RUDY GUILIANI WAS THE MAYOR OF NEW YORK CITY ON 9/11/01 WHEN THE WTC WAS ATTACKED BY TERRORISTS.
I think people will remember who he is, but no, not because of Borat 2 🤣
I agree on Borat 2. It has it's funny parts but it wasn't as good as the first. I think it's more difficult for Sacha Baron Cohen nowadays since a lot more people recognize him, it's harder for him to prank people.
It doesn't look so bad....
Yeah well this is good example of "don't judge a book by its cover"
What millionaire wants to suddenly take upon some poor kid?
Jesus that looks awful haha
Ebert was wrong !
This sounds like an upside-down and sideways version of the Twilight Zone episode, "Children's Zoo."

why is there soo much hate for this movie. I for one really enjoyed it..and still do. Dont get it.

It's pretty obvious you like this movie because your grammar isn't very good.
The absolute worst movie I've ever seen.
I can't tell if this movie is as unintentionally as racist as the "Phantom Menace" (1999)
I remember the time when Doug Walker AKA the Nostalgia Critic reviewed "North" (1994). He said he saw the trailer for the movie and thought it looked harmless enough (even though the Nostalgia Critic never actually saw the "North"). The movie got tons of mad reviews and the most famous was the one by the late critics Siskel and Ebert. The Critic was a big fan of the "Siskel and Ebert Show" and was shocked at their review of "North" and decided to review it to see why they hated it so much.
Yep. I saw his review.
This trailer actually makes the movie look somewhat good. When you watch it, you realise you've been conned.
@@kisbie I won't even go that far
I only heard how terrible this movie was. How is that so when reviews are only opinions by a career based off opinions? Some loved it. I didn't see it. If children loved it, because as a kid, we will laugh at anything really, and it was a very clean film. Then it was worth making, acting in and appreciating. I wish I was still as naive as a child, accepting my initial response as truth and reality.
I mean its a movie for 7-12 year old children....what do people expect?
That is not a good excuse because kids deserve better quality movies than this and also it is racist as fuck
