The sad part of this after listening to Britney's memoir is that I think his mom knew he wasn't that innocent after the breakup fallout with Britney, but I don't believe at the time she knew all that happened. As she says this something in her eyes says "I can tell my son isn't being completely truthful, but I can't ask him because it's his business." Britney speaks of his mom in her memoir as being the sweetest woman and she was always over their house for the holidays instead of her own and when she and Britney's family didn't have enough airfare money for the MMC final casting audition, she gladly paid for it too.

This is really uncomfortable to watch after listening to the audiobook of the Britney's memoir. I could always tell this interview was off for years and thought he wasn't being completely truthful, but I didn't think until I listened to the book that he was not only lying, but playing the victim too. Wow I mean my image of him has slowly faded over the years, but after the details in the book it's completely shattered.
I don't hate either of them. Like every relationship, they both probably messed up in some ways. They loved each other, but, like Justin said, they were young. It was intense. They were also both stars, traveling a lot and there was probably a lot of jealousy. I do think the break up helped Justin's career, but I definitely don't think he had this whole relationship and broke up with her just for the publicity. I'm not really a fan of Justin's music, but I ADORE Britney's music, yet I don't think either of them are the "bad guy." People break up. It happens. And people act out when they're hurt.

I'm a huge fan of justin and britney for the artist's that they are and for the couple that they were. To this day I still follow both as a fan. I have to say that justin going around radio shows and interviews telling ppl about his and Britney's breakup was a bad thing in his part. Cry me a river was when I lost most of my respect for him. If britney was Justin's 'sun and earth' then why did he throw her under the bus and let her take the hit all by herself? If her loved her as much as he claimed he did and almost gave her his 'last name' how could he have sat back and let all ppl say all these nasty things about her and be able to sleep at night? People seem to forget that Justin's solo career was not like Beyonce in which he immediately exploded w/ the 1st single. For people like us who remember, "Like I Love You" was NOT a hit. It had a very lukewarm reception & he was criticized for copying MJ (which he of course denied; seeing a pattern here?) It's always so hard to see young people you love break up a relationship. Being so young and inexperienced doesn't help either trying to keep a relationship going. Young love is the worst because you have felt that initial love that u never felt before and it hits u hard when it ends. The problem with getting that deep in a relationship so young is that you don't have time to meet others and one day you're going to get distracted by someone. You want to experience more. It's just the way it is.

Sadly, Justin was leading his bandmates on about his return, so they didn't do much side projects in the meantime. They officially broke up in 2005 (coincidentally, Destiny's Child and BSB made their comeback that year). JC's album was barely promoted by Jive and he had terrible singles to boot.
That's a good point. JC at that time I've always argued had the better voice, despite JT being more marketable and charismatic. The sad part of this after listening to Britney's memoir is that I think his mom knew he wasn't that innocent after the breakup fallout with Britney, but I don't believe at the time she knew all that happened. As she says this something in her eyes says "I can tell my son isn't being completely truthful, but I can't ask him because it's his business." Britney speaks of his mom in her memoir as being the sweetest woman and she was always over their house for the holidays instead of her own and when she and Britney's family didn't have enough airfare money for the MMC final casting audition, she gladly paid for it too.

This is really uncomfortable to watch after listening to the audiobook of the Britney's memoir. I could always tell this interview was off for years and thought he wasn't being completely truthful, but I didn't think until I listened to the book that he was not only lying, but playing the victim too. I don't hate either of them. Like every relationship, they both probably messed up in some ways. They loved each other, but, like Justin said, they were young. It was intense. Young love is the worst because you have felt that initial love that u never felt before and it hits u hard when it ends. His happiness was Britney could his money have bought back the fact that she cheated. Also, It's not like he released the song in this video. And he clearly said that he promised her that he wouldn't ever tell what happened and he kept the promise he didn't go back and tell everyone. If he was so aggressive he would've ignored her wishes and broke the promise like everyone does. Every singer goes through pain and they all write songs about it because that's their way of releasing their pain. What can they do? Go talk to their friends? They can't because papparazzi are always on their backs. They can't do anything a normal person would do to release pain so that's the only way he could release. Besides, why doesn't anyone criticize the songs she wrote about him huh? And besides no one even STILL IN 2014 knows the real reason why they broke up. Some say he cheated so she cheated back, Some say it was only her, Some say she only flirted.. Us fans only know what the media releases. How do we possibly know that his life was easy? How do we know what he has been through? Not everything big has to affect people. Small things such as loosing a pet or something can scar us emotionally forever. So before we know our facts straight we shouldn't judge them. Oh and then again, We have other celebrities such as Taylor Swift (Not judging her I love her too) Practically all her songs are about her breakups and she knows it too. But yet she's still #1 In the music industry. But if this poor guy actually wrote a song about her but didn't directly point it towards her doesn't make him a bad person. And If he was a horrible person he wouldn't say that he will always be there for her. As a friend or not but will always help her if she needs it. Breakups hurt even if your rich or poor love isn't ever classified as RICH OR POOR. So all breakups feel the same.
I always liked Justin! Now after what we know about him and Britney having an unborn child...wow. It's so sad and shocking. Deep down inside he stills has feelings for Brittany. Brittany had her problems and she is not perfect, but she overcame all of that and is doing wonderful in her career and I admire her for that. Like the Donnie McClurkin song says, "We Fall Down But We Get Up". We all have our trials and tribulations, but that's what makes us stronger. I am glad that he is still a good friend and support to her, because you don't find that with some people especially when it's your ex.
I look back at it now and I believe that Britney dad had a lot to do with the break up between Justin and Britney. He protected Britney and her dad did not like that so she pushed Justin away by cheating on him that was the only way she could protect him from her father.

Sadly, Justin was leading his bandmates on about his return, so they didn't do much side projects in the meantime. They officially broke up in 2005 (coincidentally, Destiny's Child and BSB made their comeback that year). JC's album was barely promoted by Jive and he had terrible singles to boot.

That's a good point. JC at that time I've always argued had the better voice, despite JT being more marketable and charismatic. Certain songs really proved that point to me, like "This I Promise You". He really shined on that one. Its funny to this, I still remember that "Gone" music video and how it was like you could see the writing on the wall. By that point they might as well had called the group Justin...and those other guys lol.
