      @@v4v819 over 40 years ago when I was in highschool I got second in the high jump at the state champs vowed I would win my senior season. I even skipped basketball and trained during the winter and did some. Indoor track to train for the spring. I had a good senior year and improved to 6 feet 8 in the high jump. But I got second again at the state championship. I have thought a lot about this throughout my life. Did getting second place twice not winning the ring teach me any lessons. Did it impact how I approached my life after that. I c To tried so hard and still not win the ring. How beautiful to hear the maturity, humility and gratitude he speaks with. To speak about “learning” from Jokic speaks volumes to Russ’ character. I believe all the challenges he has faced over the years, specifically in the eyes of the media, has helped sculpt and create the Russ we see today. It’s no coincidence he is playing the way he is.

  • @juju-vl7oj
    @juju-vl7oj 2 місяці тому +95

    I understand the criticisms for Russ as a player especially as he gets older but I think him and Jokic are actually an amazing fit together. They’re complete opposites so I can see their games complementing each other. But Jokic is one of the easiest offensive superstars to play with all time regardless.

    • @penkima4923
      @penkima4923 2 місяці тому +2

      While Westbrook is quite possibly the worst overall star to try to win with. Can't really call him superstar, because he's been extremely detrimental to all teams that he's played with. So, he hasn't been a superstar at any point.
      I don't think you do understand the criticism for Russ as a player. There's a strong argument that he's the worst point guard all time, the worst clutch player all time, and quite possibly the worst overall player in the history of at least basketball. Possibly all sports.
      And what he says that he brings to Denver is leadership. Adding Russ on the Nuggets team pretty much immediately excludes them from any championship contention.

How can you be almost 36 and still have no feel and control in an defensive rotation? He still falls alsleep several times in a game. And then that aimless drives to basket where his loses controll or throws the ball in the second row..
    And yes: i love his energy on the court.His passion. But it bothers me to know how great he could have been, if he just worked of his basketball IQ more. Maybe now, with 36, he picks some of it up playing with Nikola.

    I actually think Westbrook may have found his best fit, but the Nuggets need a new replacement for KCP someone like Obi Toppin would be great, and then develope the bench around Westbrook, I think they could be the most dangerous they ever have been, because it was always the bench that held them back.

    There is no need for trolling his past team or teammates, the split was immeceable, things did not work out. Its like Kawhi asked for him to be traded, he was actually treated with respect while he was in Clippers. The best thing is to thank them, quite frankly they (Clippers) resurrected his career after the reputation he got after playing for Lakers. There is some truth in what he's saying, but the context coming from trolling, he sounds bitter, not really giving Jokic his flowers.
