it should be plugged into xbox
Thank you for the tip men, you just earned a new subscriber 👍
Same here thAnk bro
Super informational! I’m looking into an elgato so I might need to learn more
You’ve literally been a life saver for me as a new streamer on budget
If i start the party on the xbox app...Can i still have my Headset which has a mic plugged into my controller work with sounds or does it have to be connected into the PC?
if you're streaming on PC, you don't want to plug your mic into your controller for audio regardless.
Came for the tutorial stayed for THAT asmr 😭😂
is your mic plugged into your laptop and your headset connected into the controller? With this do you hear xbox party and game audio through your headset?
Gamer Dadz you are a fucking cool dude. Thanks for creating this video man, thanks for being you!
What if you want to use your headset mic?
I have a black screen every time I chose the xbox
can anyone help it’s not working when i put the game capture on my pc when i press stream on my xbox app it just stays on the xbox tab and doesn’t go to stream labs pls help and it’s just a black screen
Thanks for the vid I really appreciate it you don't know how long I've been searching for a simple step by step video like this you don't understand how many videos I watched and useless programs that downloaded on my laptop I have Xbox companion when I bought it it was already installed which was so amazing and such a surprise
You're welcome!
Hi Buddy, i discovered a new way to do that. Just log in in the Xbox App with another account, stream your game normally and you´ll be able to capture all the audio coming from your xobox console and your game party simple like that. Thanks, you helped me to discover that.
Hey mate .. how u mean. I need ur help pleaseeeeee . How i Connect with another Account in Xbox app and be on my main agile Streaming on twitch damn
@@WhosTired Log out the Xbox App and click enter again, at this point you choose another account to log in the app where it says "Not You?". After that you gonna capture your game like the video here!
Gonna try this right now
@@MurdahOnDahStix did it work??
Hey I’m super late, but have a question. Do you not experience a slight delay in your game sound since you are using the sound from the pc and straight from the Xbox?
I do not..or if there is...im not noticing it.
Thank you so much for this video, Everything is working for me so i don't have to spend money for a game capture , have a beautiful day!
did you plu your mic into your laptop and your headset connected into the controller? With this do you hear xbox party and game audio through your headset?
Can someone help, my game capture won't show when I put it on
Edit: I figured it out, they changed it, its not a game capture anymore its a window capture
So if your headset is connected to the pc will you hear the game sounds out of the headset?
Yes, you get to hear ALL manner of audio, but you MAY not be able to interact with GAME CHAT ppl if you're in party chat (but you WILL hear them)
Question for audio. Should I plug headset up to computer or controller?
right, my issue is I can't hear the players in gam on my stream when doing it so or hear my discord friends like that either. I only hear the discord once I stream to twitch but that platform is an A$$.
How can I hear other players on my stream and my discord when streaming to YT using obs from xbox series s
Well I can't use my PC so this is not helpful
So I did this and I could hear team mates through the stream but my mic isn’t picking up? Please help! This video was awesome
Uh yeah I give up on tryna use streamlabs..
HI! I was wondering if you can help with an issue i'm getting :(. I have my Xbox running on my PC. my turtle beach headset is connected to my xbox, I have streamlabs OBS running live to twitch, screen capturing my xbox streaming on the PC, my mic on the PC is set to default. Everything works fine but my viewers are stating they're hearing an echo while i'm talking. Can you tell me what i'm doing wrong?
Did you get an answer I have the same problem?
I resolved this one on my own
Hi, good video but how did i do when i want the game chat to be hear in Console companion And then on stream, ( i have game chat on Xbox controler with headphones)
Unfortunately, as I have even recently tried diving into this same issue, I've come to a hard conclusion that you CANNOT broadcast your voice thru regular game chat via this application. as consoles don't support the in-game back and forth communication thru the companion app. Everything must be done thru the "party". It saddens me.
i cant get game audio on my stream
You forgot to have people add the display capture to bring up their video on their stream otherwise it's a black screen
Rewatch at 6:36 in... I only needed GAME CAPTURE. (But this was also 3 years ago...idk if there have been new updates since. I NOW own a game capture card, so this is obsolete for ME.)
Sorry I didn't see this in the video but I probably just passed by it on accident. So I understand that party chat goes through into the desktop audio. But how do you get game chat to run though the desk top audio?
So honestly, this work around is primarily for party chat. Now, while in party chat you SHOULD be able to hear game chat audio by default. Such as if you are in a party with someone but in a larger lobby where game chatters are speaking; you should be able to hear them as well.
Hey there, I’m streaming Xbox one to streamlabs obs, then to twitch. Can i leave my headphones plugged into my controller and have streamlabs pick up my game chat? Whenever I stream to my pc, it only does game audio through my headset when plugged into controller but not my voice or game chat. Game chat goes into obs but then I can’t hear on my headset plugged into my controller. How should I setup my audio so I can hear game audio and chat real time through my console, and have game chat, game audio, and my voice be captured in obs?
I have the same problem
Does this still work its saying test stream in companion then need update
Hey! You got a new subscriber except I can’t stream for SHIT on my PC 😅
All good. I do appreciate the support! 💜
ok so I am streaming to streamlabs obs and twitch using this method except for a few details. For starters, if you want to be able to do things with you party chat, theres an app called xbox(beta) that is basically the same as the other app but it enables you to keep a second menu open for controlling the party. The second detail is that I am using my headset mic and headset together by plugging my headset into a second controller and plugging that into my laptop using the hdmi cord provided. My problem is that my mic will suddenly drop from my stream after about 5 minutes and only my game audio will be being broadcasted. Ive changed bitrates to see if that makes a difference but I'm not sure if that's the issue. Any advice?
GET A BETTER MIC
Any help be appreciated
Can yu strean on UA-cam
Hey got you to 90 subbbss YW!!
Thx for everything like fr, Also what if u wanted to join a party or make a new party what could u do since u are already streaming the Xbox app and u said not to control it using the Xbox way ???
Hey gamer dad! I've been following this all day setting up stream labs OBS! Thanks flvery much! Really appreciate this video! I do have one question which is.... my headser has a mute function however my mic doesn't mute via the headset.... would I have to click mute through OBS instead?
I wouldn't have guessed that be the case... but like all of us streamers....trial and error. :) I'd recommend trying the OBS way to see if that does it for you. and playback a sample recording.
@@Staticsupressor that's what I'm doing right now just thought I would ask in case you knew once again I appreciate the video
@@Thescottishgamerofficial Let us know what you find out!
I use this sourceforge.net/projects/micmute/
It mutes your mic for all programs by pressing 1 button
i am unable to hear my game through my Xbox stream to my pc, i am using a monitor without speakers could that contribute ?
Taye Darden yes def
What are the cables connected to
The cables are simply connected to the desktop computer in the "mic" and "headphone" inputs on your computer. Unless you are speaking to different cables....
Gamer dadz . Dope
Thanks ethan!
I’m having a problem where I select the specific window Xbox app, it appears to be black only. I am already streaming from my Xbox. Any idea on what the fix is?
Hmm... did you try setting it all up BEFORE streaming? Also, make sire you DON'T MINIMIZE the Xbox app window. It must stay opened as well.
All cap 🧢🧢
My computer supports bluetooth can I use my turtle beach 700s they are bluetooth as well
Why you whispering bruh😂
lol LIFE OF A GAMER DAD! lmao.... its cuz my wife and kids were asleep... thats the running joke of when i started streaming (the whisper streamer) lol.... but this was now like 2-3 years ago. Lots has changed! twitch.tv/staticsupressor
I follow all the steps but my xbox app stream isnt on streamlabs
Here is my problem. I want to be able to hear alerts out my computer speakers but I don’t wanna hear the “Xbox app” stream through my speakers. I just want to be notified when I get a follow/sub/Dono ect. Both streamlabs alert sounds and game audio are running under “Desktop audio” playback device. This has been a headache the last few days for me. Do you know any fix?
(I believe that a capture card would create a new audio playback device for all the Xbox audio. But I want to avoid that $200 hit)
chrisfrombp I'll have to look into this a bit more for ya....
So can I just stream and send myself a party invite to get game chat?
Followed every step on multiple videos and as soon as I stream there is no image displayed on Streamlabs, just blank. My game isn’t hidden behind any title or images etc but you can hear my
Game Audio. I think I’m just going to have to use the stupid window display and let everyone see my
Tabs when I flick my scenes -.- lol
Same issue with me. Did you manage to get the fix
My game capture screen on OBS keeps freezing but all the audio is going through do you know of a way to fix this problem.
JustALocoGamer I often run into the same issue. The best way to fix it is to reduce the video quality of the stream. You can also turn off the preview in the bottom left corner of the OBS app to help reduce CPU usage. That's just the stuff that's worked for me.
JustALocoGamer As Jesse mentioned...the best way is to reduce the amount of jobs it's simultaneously running. Whether that's reducing the quality of the outgoing stream to 1280x720 (because most viewers can't tell a huge difference between the two)... or disabling preview mode using less CPU.
@@Staticsupressor I can't get mine to do anything only black screen
I have everything set up right and doing it right but I can't hear or talk to my friends through the Xbox app on my PC
Did you check to make sure through your PC settings for volume and such that your INPUT is correctly selected for your microphone (it may not change automatically) you'd have to select the device that you plugged in. Again, thats through your PC settings...additionally check the companion app settings to make sure of the same thing! :)
This is the orangest gamer channel I've seen.
Leave Streamlabs up, if its minimized it wont fully show/play the companion app window unless fullscreen. This should solve a lot of yall's freezing issues in Streamlabs
Whenever I add window capture and put it on Xbox app the screen on Obs just stays black. Does anyone know a solution?
So a couple things I can think of: 1. Make sure in your OBS sources tabs that your window capture feature is above any background overlays that you might have as well. (it might be hidden behind another image/background feature. 2. Do what you did, but remember to "Start Stream" through the Xbox app...much like I did at 10:38. Finally, if all that fails...try using "Game Capture" as your source instead of "Window Capture". (I use game capture in this video). Hope this helps!
Gamer Dadz I’m having the same issue, followed every step, as soon as I select game capture, I try every option but choose to display my Xbox as the specific screen and it’s just blank, I’ve checked it’s not being overplayed and I’ve tried stream before and after loads up streamlabs and even during, I’ve seen countless reports on this and there isn’t a solution as far as I can see :/
is there a way to actually talk to people in game chat while being able to hear them throught this method or is there like no way, but this really helped me a lot thank you so much for this video my firend much love
The only way to accomplish this is to play thru a PC INSTALLED game (not a console)... and/or with a headset attached to your actual console controller. but NOT thru the ways I describe unfortunately. thank you for the kind comment!
i think so.. just plug another mic into the controller and listen through headset plugged into the pc and talk through controller. i'm trying this method out
Knew you stream at night after family is asleep from the whispering. I used to do the same. Plus the toys are a definite nod to being a dad
Thankfully, my setup today on Twitch is much much different lol
Love the intro
But then how do u stream to fb or twitch after the final step ?
Thanks much
So does the headphone mic and headphone jack have to be plug into the tv from your pc or could it be plug to your pc tower ? Also could the “Beexcellent Gaming Headset” from Amazon work ?????
Also what’s the USB port for from your headset ?
Plug into the tower... not the TV.
@@itsyoboig3325 the usb port is because my particular headset is POWERED by USB.
I am bot familiar with that type of headset unfortunately.
I start the party on my computes and I have my white turtle beaches and a snowball mic but when I start a party through the app it makes a weird loud noise
You know how to solved it?
How do you set your headset to talk in party chat through the xbox app???
Like do I need a computer mic or something. I haven’t looked at my setting cause I’m out of town but I tried to put my headset in computer but it does the same thing
Trent Anderson you don't NEED a separate usb mic. Headset should do if it has the USB & GREEN rca cable for it.
Gamer Dadz you now if razer headset have the green cable or the usb?
Gamer Dadz if my headset dont comes with the usb port i cant use it?
starchy 12345 USB
starchy 12345 You can always try... but I'm fairly certain you need both for it to work in the situation I demonstrated.
Hey sir, great video!! This is the only video that has helped me to get SLOBS to work with the Xbox app! Audio sounds great and everything. My only question is about the headset. Do you know if a wireless headset with the transmitter plugged into the PC usb would work the same as a wired headset that’s plugged into the pink and green jacks? Thanks!
Did u find out ?
You are a legend mate I am getting my microphone soon thank you boss
So how do people in game chat hear you if your headset is plugged into your computer
Use the party chat through the PC xbox app, not party chat through xbox
@@subsume7904 hey could I just get a pc mic on Amazon abs plug in the mic and headphone jack into the pc right ?
And I also have an elgato
i cant hear my self in my stream only game audio... do i need to plug my headset in my controller or in my pc?
If you didn’t have a mic at all then you won’t be able to hear yourself at all, and I’m pretty sure the controller should work
Which one you think is better to do window capture or game capture ???
Game Capture first. Since that doesn't require you to reformat the layout. Game Capture should find your PC game automatically. But if it's NOT a PC game... then do window capture
@@Staticsupressor okay thx 🙏🏼
@@Staticsupressor to this day does game capture still work with LABSTREAM OBS with u ?

nice free asmr xD
What type of computer are you using. Specs?
HP Envy 43
hasnt worked ;(
Will players still be able to join the party through the console and wont screw up?
Jgio Arrubio Correct. You can also even join someone else's party as long as YOU join/create a party through the XBOX APP ONLY. Others can join through their own consoles. The key for you to remember when doing this method is: When it comes to parties/chat, pretend the console has no capability for it.
Gamer Dadz thanks a lot!!
Jgio Arrubio you're more than welcome!
@@Staticsupressor does it record the actual game chat in games like Fortnite? Or just Xbox Party Chat?
@@BenjaminM69420 So if you are RECORDING it SHOULD pick that up as well if set up correctly. If it doesn't, it could be because of a hardware restriction. Tough to say.
my mic makes a loud ass noise when i join the party but when im on xbox its fine when i try hopping on the xbox app my mic can be on mute but it makes a ear rape noise
Ninxj The only thing I can think of is making sure your mic settings are set up correctly through the Xbox app on your computer. Remember to NEVER do anything with the party thru the actual Xbox console.
@@Staticsupressor so could we join a party or Inv people to our party in the Xbox app that’s getting stream in the pc????

Hey gamer dad. So when I use the pc for party chat I can’t hear my friends. But their voices are coming through OBS. I’m using Astro A10 head set that plugs directly to my controller. So when I use the console for party chat, I hear them in my headset but their voices won’t come through OBS. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the question... you're going to want to find a headset that plugs directly into your computer...not your controller. There is NO headset linked/attached to my controller or console in this setup/tutorial.
Gamer Dadz thanks for responding! So with my headset I found an alternative. I purchased the Astro mixamp TR on eBay for $60. There’s an optic cable that goes from the Xbox to the mixamp, which captures all of the audio including chat party. From the mixamp there’s an aux cord that’ll connect to the pc to capture the audio in OBS. And finally I plug my headset into the mixamp to get the game audio in my headset and still be able to chat with my party. Plus it uses my mic from the headset as my “external” mic for the live stream.
