Fun Fact: He's just freestyling half of the time. Fun Fact: He's known to do whatever he wants. So the band must always look and hear what he does next. Fun Fact: He's one of the first artist (if i'm not mistaken) to ever combine genres together. Mariachi, Choir, Orchestra.
I read somewhere that it drove his musicians bonkers, but the effect... I'm sure being part of his show more than made up for any frustration they might’ve had cuz the outcome was phenomenal. I was lucky to see him live 4 times and they're memories I will cherish my whole life.
Mexican music as a whole might be the most cathartic in the world. It will pull tears out of you without knowing the lyrics and even more powerful if you do.
This guy is a National Treasure, a monument here in Mexico. He's one of the few artists you immediatley think when you see or hear a mariachi, as he becomes one with them. IMO he's one of the very, VERY few artists in the world who can make you feel whatever he wants you to feel regardless if you undertand the language or not: he could sing the ABC's and if he wanted to make you cry or laugh, he would. Juan Gabriel is a once in a century musician, and he is dearly missed
Nobody publicly knows if he was gay or straight, besides his epic phrase "Lo que se ve no se pregunta", but everybody knows that he was an un precedented Genius!
I'm not from México, but he was so loved in latinoamerica. He's songs are so famous that in a karaoke night always you hear one song from him. He was a great composer and performer.
He was a legendary showman in Mexico just the BEST and this live concert is a brilliant small shine of all his splendor, three aspects always to consider HIM, THE LYRICS and HIS SHOW unique RIP legend juanga

He was famously known for saying “ lo que se ve, no se pregunta” - what you see you don’t ask about. He never cleared up rumors bc he didn’t think he needed to. He was beautifully who he was and was able to transcend homophobic ideologies amongst the Mexican community. He is one of the first artists to freely be himself on stage. "Hata que te conocí" is Juan Gabriel's catharsis about his maternal relationship, he always had his mother as an idealized woman, a victim of life's misfortune, a woman forged in austerity and lack, however, a day he really saw her ..

As recently as a week ago, Cineteca Nacional (an arthouse film theater) gave a free screening of Juan Gabriel's 2013 Bellas Artes concert... The grounds were so crowded that subsequent showings had to be canceled/postponed. It is now more or less confirmed that this very same concert will be screened soon in Zócalo, Mexico City's premier public outdoor venue, for everyone to enjoy.
Gracias Juan Gabriel : "Divo de Juárez" siempre te recordaré muy fácil por tantas y tan bonitas canciones con Mariachi o baladas : igual de bellas Gracias por la reacción muchachos y saludos de Guadalajara.
I had the honor to be on a live show like one or two years before he died and he went more than 4hrs straight singing and dancing (and drinking x)). He didn’t wanted to stop. He was like that 🫶🏽 if people asked him for more, he just kept giving.

Juan Gabriel....the name says it all. He is going to take you on a journey. At the beginning of this song it felt like lightning strikes going through my soul. His voice makes one's heart rate increase. My only regret is never experiencing his music live. He was also a prolific composer, often writing music for others. He is truly a gift from Mexico. I got to see him in concert live twice and in person his voice was beyond special. You were swept up in a wave of pure emotion with his voice it was as if he was singing with his heart. May he Rest in power.
Juanga was a brilliant lyricist. He's like Adele, Billie Eilish in that his fans cross across generations. My 90 year old mom remains a big fan as do I. There are two generations behind me who have also become huge fans. He was Mexico's pride and joy. We still miss him.
I was sooo excited to see that you reacted to this performance! Even though it's an old one from the 90's It's one of my all time favs. Justin I know exactly how you felt when the emotion hit, that exact moment in the performance gives me chills every single time. I have this live album on my apple playlist, and I love belting out in my car during that part😆 Juan Gabriel was so great and such a diva lol
One of many favorites of his! There will never be another like him. His concerts used to last up to 5 hours. He loved his fans and included everyone in them. Greatly missed and loved. ❤️ Thank you for the video. Pls check out Rocio Durcal, she is considered his female counterpart.
Juan Gabriel is an artist that would make you cry every tear you have and make you get up and dance at the same time. His voice and flare are unmatched. He is a lyrical genius! He transcends all generations and will always be one of my favorites! May he rest in peace!
The last part of the song is he being liberated from the pain, saying "i don't want to see you more" and son on, that's thy the climax of the song is about that, being liberated from the pain
By the way for those of you that don't know, this song is about Juan Gabriel's mom. She abandoned him when he was only 3 years old and was permanently sent to a boarding school. Thankfully the school gave him all the love and care he needed, but once he grew older and left, he encountered his mom and was then full of sadness and pain. "I was so happy, I lived very well, until I met you, I saw life with pain..."

Como evitar que la piel se me erice al escuchar esta pieza maestra del maestro Juan Gabriel. Cuanto lo extrañamos!
I found the lyrics
I didn't know sadness existed,
I didn't know what tears meant,
These tears that make me cry, I didn't know that they existed
I knew only about affection, tenderness,
Because ever since I was little,
That's what my mother taught me,
That's what my mother taught me
This and much more..
I had never suffered
I had never cried
I was so happy
My life was great
oh
My life was so different, something beautiful, and divine
My life was Full of happiness
I knew only about joy, about the beauty of life,
I didn't know about loneliness,
and so many other things too
I never suffered, I never cried,
I was so happy....My life was great
Chorus
Until I...met you
I started to see life with pain
I'm not lying to you, I was happy,
Even though with so little love,
And I realized too late,
That I shouldn't have loved you,
Because now I think only of you,
More than yesterday, much more
I had never suffered, I had never cried,
I was so happy... Until I met you
Now I want you to tell me
Whether it was worth or not the trouble
Of meeting you
Because I don't believe you anymore
And you were so bad
Yes, you were so bad to me
That's why I never want,
I never want to see you
Leave, leave, go... go away, I don't want you
I never want to see you again
Leave
Its incredible how he managed so sadness in a show

Love this! Juan Ga is a classic, soulful forever artist. Love y’all embracing this legend! Vamos Juan Gabriel!❤
He was Mexico’s version of Prince . Such a great performer. He was known as El Divo de Juárez
They threw the lyrics away and started feeling everything 😂❤ the power of JG
the world cry whe he died a couple years ago, his nickname was "el divo de Juarez", we miss him, his music lives 4 ever.
Juanga was a brilliant lyricist. He's like Adele, Billie Eilish in that his fans cross across generations. My 90 year old mom remains a big fan as do I. There are two generations behind me who have also become huge fans. He was Mexico's pride and joy. We still miss him.
Uno de los mejores cantantes e intérpretes de la música. Un maravilloso compositor , cantante de nuestra música latina
Graciaaaaaas
I was sooo excited to see that you reacted to this performance! Even though it's an old one from the 90's It's one of my all time favs. Justin I know exactly how you felt when the emotion hit, that exact moment in the performance gives me chills every single time. I have this live album on my apple playlist, and I love belting out in my car during that part😆 Juan Gabriel was so great and such a diva lol
Juan Gabriel IS the best. He may have passed, but he's a legend!
His voice I so powerful that doesn’t get overpowered by a MARIACHI! That says it all!

No soy fan de Juan Gabriel pero como canta este tipo me sacó una lágrima
🇲🇽 VIVA JUAN GABRIEL DE MÈXICO PARA EL MUNDO 🇲🇽👍
The last part of the song is he being liberated from the pain, saying "i don't want to see you more" and son on, that's thy the climax of the song is about that, being liberated from the pain
He was duch a genius and fun Im glad you got the fortune to find❤ his music so we can enjoy it too.

Viva Juan Gabriel!!! Viva Mexico!! 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
"I was so happy, I lived very well, until I met you, I saw life with pain..."
the best spanish song I've heard and amazing performance
All the greatest Musicians come from MEXICO!!!!!!
