Truly a shame these games didn't sell better. This game needed to be a series. The Guitar Hero/Rock Band games were fun for what they were, but Gitaroo Man is where it's at.

I played it so long ago and never again, yet I remember so vividly. This game. Elite Beat Agant and the Ouendan series are fantastic games. It's a pity, that these kind of story driven rythm games did not became more popular.

Being a guitar player (not a gitaroo player ;) ) myself, i find it funny how BAD Zowie sounds in this song XD. Sounds like me when I first starting learning to play fast. Really fits into his character as a spoiled brat who thinks he's god like. Never played the game but played along with your entire playthough and wondered what your thoughts where on the songs. in my oppinion the hardest song attack wise has to be Sanbone Trio, that flemaco strumming is a nightmare and it has it's fair share of nasty defence sections, like the one you didn't get where they all line up behind each other. I've seen that on master and damn is it a tricky one. For hardest defence, I'd say it's a tie between Void and Tainted Lovers, both have some really nasty sections in it, I'm thoroughly impressed how you handled that pivot lead in Tainted (where it's like S,X,O,X,S,X,O,X and so on, S's being square inputs)

After all, its main strength seems to be its adaptability, as it can mimic whatever tone and speed is necessary for Gitaroo Lucharan. I think U-1 just plays that song at the same speed as Zowie because that's just what he does? Who knows. It's obviously just plot convenience to get demonic/Super Saiyan U-1 versus Gundam Zowie, but it's cool either way, haha.

This was played on PCSX2, a PS2 emulator. It is labeled "Master Play" because that's the game mode I was playing. You have to clear all of Single Play to get to Master Play. The fact that I got an A was merely fortuitous!

I just found out about this game yesterday. It combines the best of 'First-draft Anime comic-manga sketches" with blistering rhythm / music & delightfully cheesy atmosphere that feels like a kid playing on a playground with his friends while learning how to become a Master Musician. The feels during Legendary & & Resurrection are like the best of Eddie Van Halen & then Buckethead. Les Paul Gibson would be so proud of the creators of this game...
I only wish I was able to get to that song. I never had the skill to get to it since playing on an emulator sucks like hell and I don't have the disk any more since I sold it to some idiot for 80 dollars.

Yeah, PCSX2. This game isn't very graphically intensive, so it's rather smooth on emulators. I had to drop the settings a bit from Sanbone Trio onwards, but it's barely noticeable.

This isn't normal play, lol. the final stage is identical in masters mode. you just lose more life when you miss, and deal less damage when you hit.
