If you ever do another fake card opening video, you should actually compare real and fake cards side-by-side so viewers can really appreciate the differences.
ua-cam.com/video/4YowDet4zXw/v-deo.html These new fake cards are cool. This one has Ash, desires, Maxx c. This tin contains 80 cards including the pre built blue eyes deck with alternative, there are traptrix, sky striker, trickstar. And the card is very good quality.
you think they care? They got their money for grading the card, they couldn't care less if it was a really good fake. At least, they obviously care very little about yugioh.
With this video you just got a subscriber. Thanks for defending Yugioh fan rights and pockets. Also thank you for teaching us how to detect conterfeit cards :)
Gotta say this is my favourite video you've put up. You took what is a rather serious topic among all collectors of various memorabilia and gave it the respect it deserved. I've seen so many videos where people joke about counterfeit collectibles and treat it like a gag when it is a very real problem that can not only cost vast amounts of money but also can embarrass otherwise savvy collectors to the point where they give up collecting altogether. I just want to say bravo for a well put together video - you have the right attitude and have once and for all earned my deepest respect.
Thank you! I really appreciate the kind words. I truly just wanted to make an informational video to show people how good these counterfeit cards are, and how the averagecollector may not notice the differences. I could have done a better job with some comparisons to real cards, but oh well. I'm glad you liked the video and I truly appreciate the feedback!
If you guys looks closely at the ATK/DEF, the numbers appear to be thicker than the other digits which is something you will never see from the real Yugioh TCG.
+The Old School Expert you can also tell by the sealing of the booster packs that its fake. konami should have some info on fake cards/booster and how to identify them somewhere on the net.
I remember buying one of these a few years ago and shared the same exact thought as you. Just something to share, I pulled the exact supers, ultras and the Tri-Horned. I think SimplyUnlucky has the same exact pulls as well!
I've gotta be honest, if I were able to get a hold of one of these counterfeit boxes, so long as I was buying them for a very low price, I'd be perfectly fine with owning fakes, just for the sake of collecting/reliving my childhood. They look close enough to the real thing anyway, plus they'd probably give a similar, nostalgic feeling to when I was a kid, opening my first LOB packs. I'd probably pay $50-$60 for a fake box like this. Of course, I'm guessing most of these boxes, even the fake ones, are probably going for many thousands of dollars, so, to hell with that 🤷♂️.
I really like this video. Before, when I got into Yu-Gi-Oh!, I used to buy the booster boxes of Pharoah's Servant, Magician's Force, and Labyrinth of Nightmare, and my cards were thankfully genuine. But I never knew about the quality of the box or even the printing in the box, I did always know about the hologram on the lower right corner of the card though. Now I religiously buy my cards, either in a blister pack or from people I personally know on eBay. I know this video is one of your older videos, but i still thank you for it.
3:32 u can see the bottom left corner the square holo Yu Hi Oh seal pushing out through the back lol hows the smell? does it have that new YuGiOh card smell fresh outta the packs?
What i cant stand the most, is that instead waisting their time and others and aswell as money, they should stop risking themselves and just start making their own brand of card games. They never if it will be a huge hit. They are pretty good at it, gotta give them that.
One of my oldest memories with yugioh is. I saved up 60-80 pounds and went to toys r us and so badly wanted to get exordr I got all but one of the pieces. But something odd happened when I opened the packs.... I got a Big shield guarden and I was shocked, getting it from the first ever yugioh pack. Looking back on it, it's obvious another pack must have got mixed in, but when I was under I thought it comes from that pack, and love it, because it was never meant to be in there
What if these are repackaged LOB packs from the Legendary Collection set that they tried to pass off as originals? Still weird that the backs are so orange.
Dude, those are some very clever and impressive fakes. If you did destroy them in the end, to stop them getting onto the secondary market, Kudos to you, my friend. Konami should send you a genuine box of 1st Ed LOB as a thank you.
I bought (unknowingly) fakes of the very first starters and boosters very early in spain back when they came out first, even those looked pretty legit, and since those were the first products I ever purchased I didn't realize what was up until much later. back then they even sold obviously fake holos everywhere in the tourist markets
first thing I noticed is the cards are marked from the stamping in the back. That was never the case for real cards as far as I remember and on that box it didnt even look like factory defect but straight standard. I used to play with fake cards as a child because my parents wouldnt buy me real ones and those with the correct stamp were the ones lol you'd get called out if they didnt get the stamp it was the first thing to look for.
Here in Cyprus we used to only get fake cards. I don't know if that change but I assume it did. I got most of them as a kid so I literally couldn't tell or even knew if these were fake and why it mattered. There are literally cards where the only things wrong with them are the edition thing and the password on the card. I know this due to the fact that I checked them on an old gameboy advance game where the password of the cards entered would make them available in the card shop and it didn't work, something that really confused me as a child. Now I know why it is and I basically have a box full of fake cards. Basically the reason I don't play yugioh with physical cards and just stick to video games..
We had a few of these some friends & I bought at a flea market, still fun to play with in sleeves But we did draw giant X's with sharpie on the back of the cards to know they are fakes & never try to sell or trade.
I remember seeing these when I was a kid and everyone had them. I knew they were fake because you shouldn't be able to buy yugioh from a dollars and cents store. Probably says a lot about the socio - demographic I grew up in.
I'm starting to think my vary old lost decks of cards was fake now... I know the ones I originally had was fake I mean the colour of them was way way off and they didn't have the right front on them nor were they made out of the right material but still, I can't check since they went missing a long time ago, I had some good cards and some rare ones too. Still starting to think about starting a new collection once again, this will help a lot, thanks for making this video!
How can you tell if a sealed booster box is fake or not without removing the wrap? Any easy way to tell? I'm looking to start a collection of vintage sealed booster box from eBay but not sure how to start and how to tell if they are legit. Any advice would be great!
the thing i noticed right away are the booster packs themself. they have these silver ends on the bottom and on the top. on fake ones they seem to be cut shorter and not very consistant (sometimes there is more of the silver lining on the top than on the bottom or the other way around) also the "serrations" on it isnt 100%straight and not as strong as on the real ones
I just had the idea if there is a company who made the perfect counterfeits and now there are cards not made by Konami scattered around collectors all over the world. Kinda simple thought, but weird at the same time.
Should i trust that u send me a real Mystical elf? haha Man, i couldt tell that box was fake until you open the packs. They did a really good job with it
juggaloian0088 Haha i know man, and its very safe here. I am waiting for a another GLAS opening, because i never saw a expensive card like necroface, or magic formula or soul taker come out of a pack on youtube, not an english one. See u man!
I'm from Bosnia and Hercegovina. When I was little and playing Yu-gi-oh I would kill for these cards. We only had fake cards, but really bad quality fake cards. Without those I wouldn't be able to play the game back in the day. Original cards are still pretty scarce so even today without these fake ones, kids wouldn't be able to play the game in fucked up parts of the world. You have to take that into consideration!
It’s still good to have fake cards out there because it helps you to learn to play the game, and for one I ll rather use fake cards to play with friends cause I don’t want to damage any of my cards just saying
Too bad; with a little extra effort to correct mistakes and a bit of attention, these could actually be passed off as legit cards. Hell, I wouldn't even mind finding out who makes these if they could make high quality Oricas instead; they'd be great.
I remember when Yugioh first came and the LOB pack was at like every gas station and convenience store you went to, there was one store that solid a blatantly fake LOB set cause when you opened the packs the cards were skinnier then normal and the print on the cards were all pale then normal like when a printer starts to run low on ink, I used to but those packs just for fun
The Old School Expert I still remember when I got my first ever, me and my cousin went down to his local convenience store and saw the Yugi & Kaiba starter decks, I got Yugi's and my cousin got Kaiba's, you'd should have seen how funny it was trying to learn to play Yu-gi-oh right after we bought our decks, we had no idea what we were doing, be granted I was like 12 and my cousin was 10 so yeah trying to read and understand the manual wasn't easy lol
think the only set that was horribly gritty was the set that had crystal beasts in? just remember the feel always being off on them but no matter where i bought packs from always felt the same.
Yeah every pack that you have opened had like a scuff or small crease on the back card. I mean sometimes there are errors but not on every pack. ( 5:47 example of the scuff/crease)
Need your help, I just received my box of samurai assault booster box and i feel like it might be a fake but cant tell. Some of the cards the black border is lighter than usual, also i was comparing to exact samurai's but the font and the pictures were not aligned exactly and the size of the picture was different. Now these two cards were each from a different set so not sure if that would make a difference. ONe was 1st edition while the other was not.
Hey Juggaloian, out of all the Yu Gi Oh Merchandise (I.E T-shirts, posters, Action Figures and the Music to Duel By CD) that was made for the original series (excluding the card game and the DVD's) which did you think was the weirdest? for me it was the "Grade School" Valentine's Day Cards and the Birthday Wrapping Paper. Thanks.
juggaloian0088 I know, I actually gave out the Valentine's Day cards one year when I was in Elementary School along with my friend who was also a big Yu-Gi-Oh fan. B.T.W Simply Unlucky got 2 Tri-horned Dragons, Gaia The Fierce Knight, Dark Hole, Trap Hole, and Man-Eater Bug in his box.
I'm curious about how they could use that font. I actually didn't believe the cards in simply's vid were fake at first because the font was spot-on, and I've been playing since this game came out, haha
Charles L these are by far the best fakes out there by a long shot. The only thing that's not correct is the secret rare foil on tri-horned, the color on the back (little too red) and the paper stock the cards are printed on is wring. The paper is too gritty. These are all small things that would go unnoticed by someone who isn't all that familiar with old school cards
Hey brother, I love your channel. Glad I came across it! We have just started investing in high end older Yu-Gi-Oh boxes, and I was wondering if there were any big give aways that a box has been re-shrinkwrapped and searched. Specially thinking about Invasion of Chaos. thanks
Not that I'm aware of, but you never quite know. Just compare it to other known boxes of IOC and see if the shrink wrap matches up. Also, if the wrap looks brand new and super tight, there's a good chance it's not real
I have bíg Yu-Gi-Oh book 1996 612 cards real deal dóñt know what worth. Chris mcbríde live in Antlers oklahomà 580 2o9 2416 call me 60 years old dónt know nothing about them
I think that they printed the same cards for each of these fake boxes. I just found out that my lob 1st ed are fake and guess what I have the same exact super/ultra rares as the ones in this video.
I like how the counterfeits are actually really well done yet they just haphazardly threw everything into the box with no care lol
If you ever do another fake card opening video, you should actually compare real and fake cards side-by-side so viewers can really appreciate the differences.

@@definitelynotnoreen y tho
@@definitelynotnoreen dude, stop with the comments, those fake cards are not even close to the fake ones in this video
You should send off a fake and see if PSA realise that its fake ^^
he did a video where he showed them grading fake cards. they fucked up
Yes, please send like 1 in. if i had them i would send a fake in like once every 3 months to see if they have their shit together.
you think they care? They got their money for grading the card, they couldn't care less if it was a really good fake. At least, they obviously care very little about yugioh.
Which is why I won't buy a black lotus card from PSA because who knows it could be a fake
RapiDEraZeR I didn't know it was a rule for the card to be real. That's not them fucking up. They are a grading company. That's it. They grade things.
With this video you just got a subscriber. Thanks for defending Yugioh fan rights and pockets. Also thank you for teaching us how to detect conterfeit cards :)

If you guys looks closely at the ATK/DEF, the numbers appear to be thicker than the other digits which is something you will never see from the real Yugioh TCG.
Looks like a team of 80 counterfeiters taking notes
I've seen many counterfeit cards where everybody can tell they're fake but these cards look damn good. Serious work they put in.
3:58 notice the double space in the description for the Curse of Dragon
Shamus Gerrity good eye! The spacing looks off. Too many spaces between the word "of"
thanks for acknowledging man! great videos by the way!

You can also see the scuff on the back of the card @ 7:35 very well.
For curiosity sake id send in the gaia to psa to see if they pick it up
The pack that has Dark Hole actually has the same cards as the first pack Simplyunlucky opened in his video.

Probably where most exist, but you can find 1 or 2 on ebay for around $300 every now and then in English.

That double space in the start of the curse of dragon's text though XD
Do all the 1st edition Lob’s have the gold stamp in the bottom right or sliver?
Hi, I work for the bureau of investigation specializing in the subject of counterfeit Yu-GI-OH! cards.
nice
How can you tell if a sealed booster box is fake or not without removing the wrap? Any easy way to tell? I'm looking to start a collection of vintage sealed booster box from eBay but not sure how to start and how to tell if they are legit. Any advice would be great!

I remember fake cards already exist 15 years ago, although the quality isn't great
Do you know where to buy a box like that? I am really curious to see how those cards are really are..!

What are u gonna do with the holos burn them or add 2 your collection ?
The font is correct, but the dead giveaway for me is always the atk and def points. Those are way off.
I remember watching simplyunlucky opening this box. He was so disappointed.
where can i get one of these boxes? id love to get some of these cards for the collection
im curious was the lob-e printed after the original lob set!
Too bad; with a little extra effort to correct mistakes and a bit of attention, these could actually be passed off as legit cards.
Hell, I wouldn't even mind finding out who makes these if they could make high quality Oricas instead; they'd be great.
When he looked at the left arm of exodia,of u read the description, you will see it was whosever instead of whoever
you could buy these good looking fakes back in the day too.
How much did you buy this box for, if you don't mind me asking? It'd suck if you payed what you would pay for a real box.
I have all of my old school cards right beside me & they aren't close. When you opened them the colors are wayyyy off lmao. Glad you got a refund
I LOVE that Chaos Command Magician bro!! Where did you pull him?
I remember when Yugioh first came and the LOB pack was at like every gas station and convenience store you went to, there was one store that solid a blatantly fake LOB set cause when you opened the packs the cards were skinnier then normal and the print on the cards were all pale then normal like when a printer starts to run low on ink, I used to but those packs just for fun
magnum1165 that's so true. I remember my local 7-11 convenience store selling Yugi and Kaiba starter decks! Good times...
+magnum1165 at least you tried to teach yourself. I had to have my friends teach me how to play haha
think the only set that was horribly gritty was the set that had crystal beasts in? just remember the feel always being off on them but no matter where i bought packs from always felt the same.
ONe was 1st edition while the other was not.
is it weird to say they sound wrong when you move them against each other?
How did the weight of the box/packs compare to the real thing?
Was it just the 1st edition boxs or both unlimited and 1st edition?
I just wanna know where to get this?
Hey Juggaloian, out of all the Yu Gi Oh Merchandise (I.E T-shirts, posters, Action Figures and the Music to Duel By CD) that was made for the original series (excluding the card game and the DVD's) which did you think was the weirdest? for me it was the "Grade School" Valentine's Day Cards and the Birthday Wrapping Paper. Edward Underhill whoa yeah that's super weird!!
juggaloian0088 I know, I actually gave out the Valentine's Day cards one year when I was in Elementary School along with my friend who was also a big Yu-Gi-Oh fan. B.T.W Simply Unlucky got 2 Tri-horned Dragons, Gaia The Fierce Knight, Dark Hole, Trap Hole, and Man-Eater Bug in his box.

LMTR14
Juggaloian is not a sell-out, He is one of the best Old-School Yu Gi Oh you-tubers.
"I really don't want *riiiip* these getting out there"
Listen... if they look real... why not play with them... right??
I mean, I guess you can get away with using some of these in tournaments and nobody will notice in a sleeve.
Welp, TIL that my Tyrant Dragon I keep around from my childhood is a fake. I got it on top of the booster pack.
How can you tell if it is fake when it is sealed
I'm curious about how they could use that font. I actually didn't believe the cards in simply's vid were fake at first because the font was spot-on, and I've been playing since this game came out, haha

Charles L What's notable about Simply Unlucky's box is that the box itself is Spanish and the packs and cards are in English.
Edward Underhill they were loose packs like he stated, did you even watch the video?
xbon1
Yes, but he had a Spanish box which he used as a joke in the video.
Edward Underhill yes, which means the box wasn't spanish, he used his own box and placed the loose packs inside.
I doubt it's possible... but if you found this box say at target would it most lily be a fake? Or would it mean you hit the jackpot
Just cause you murder fake cards, you get a like and a sub.
The font on the ATK/DEF is wrong
They even sound different when flipping through them

Do they smell like real oldschool cards? Being an oldschool player that would have been my first test and was surprised you didn’t do it.
I remember , one day long time ago , i saw a blue eyes tin and when i oponed it all the packs in side were packs like thoose
Well thats sad
