Basically I refuted UMG's claim and then their only option was to sue me and at that point the video got MYSTERIOUSLY lost in copyright hell for three months. UMG evidently "responded" ages ago and I guess youtube never got back to it? Or something weirder was happening? IDK!!!!
I'm glad you got it back, I hate Google, and the fact that it took a fan to do it proves how trash Google is. When a company quietly removes it's mission statement of "Do No Evil" that should tell you everything.
I'm so glad it's back online(and I just finished watching it)! Equally frustrated to hear the system effectively failed and it was a lucky intervention that brought it back though :/
yo! that's dope i had the playlist open in a chrome tab and when i saw ep 2 was up i started playing the series. You mention it's a 4 part series? or have i understood it wrong and there's 2 parts that cover the 4 topics you said in the first video?
I don't even know them! They are a fan who reached out to me. It was super helpful but it wasn't even like I called in a favor from some friend, they just happened to see my youtube: bad? video and it made them want to try to help me
Fake Friends 2 just appeared among UA-cam recommendations for me, so I watched 1 and 2. I've seen a few references to those videos before, but always forgot to search for them, so this is the first time I've seen this channel. It's weird that UA-cam never recommended this channel to me before - I subscribe all the usual leftist & film criticism channels. Now I love this channel too & look forward to going back and watching all the old stuff. I assume Fake Friends 3 and 4 haven't been made yet? Or did I just overlook them?
From what I have seen, you can probably go so far as to play around with an acoustic guitar while doing a voice over to create background music and still get bs DCMA claims
it's not bs, there is a reason that Weird Al pays for the license to the songs he parodies. Fair Use isnt' as all encompassing as people make it out to be.
I'm glad this got sorted. A few years ago, one of Spoony's reviews was taken down, even though the entire movie was in the public domain. Eventually, it was brought back online.
@@JKPancake Yeah, this was back in 2016. It was for his review of Reb Brown's "Firing Line." The entire movie is public domain, but for some reason youtube took it down.
What a gross ending to a dumb story. Looking forward to the post-mortem, and I'm genuinely glad it is back up because I'm not done thinking about it yet.
i can now continue my parasocial relationship with fake friends 2
I can't find it. anyone knows what happened?
Wait your telling me when an actual person reviewed it they realized it was an error? Well maybe google just needs to use....MORE BOTS wait no

We're not taking any victory for granted in 2020. Hell yeah, Shannon.
thats right jay

Hell yeah, now I can finally rewatch it. There's so gd much in that video, I'm sure I didn't absorb it all the first time.
Congrats! I'm so happy to see it back online
Congratulations (if that's appropriate), and good work!
Congratulations! It sucks that you had to go through so much to get it back up,

it will be a 4 part series when I finish the next two parts
I'm glad it's back up. I'm sorry it was such a fight, and doubly sorry that it ended up taking knowing someone at google. Oof.
I don't even know them! They are a fan who reached out to me. It was super helpful but it wasn't even like I called in a favor from some friend, they just happened to see my youtube: bad? video and it made them want to try to help me
Just got done with Fake friends 2, was pointed to it via InnuendoStudios. Glad it was up when I went looking.
Can't wait to rewatch it again now that it's finally back! Fuck UA-cam tbh
Hell yeah! so fucked up that you had to get lucky with nepotism for this. glad it’s up

It gets even worse! thenextweb.com/google/2012/02/27/a-copyright-claim-on-chirping-birds-highlights-the-flaws-of-youtubes-automated-system/
@@StrucciMovies That is a rabbit hole I did not wanna know about and yet needed to, thank you.
@@StrucciMovies what in the toasty fuck
@@StrucciMovies wow, youtube is a shithole

Yay!
Yay!
So the way to get inappropriately taken down yt videos back up is have a fan within yt itself. That sounds nice and achievable for every channel.
I can't find it. anyone knows what happened?
FUCK YES!!!!!!!!!!
Yay! I finally get to watch it!
Hurray!!!
Imma watch it again to celebrate
WOOHOO!!
Congradulations :)

Remember when spoony did reviews

Glad that this has worked out for you (and all the people I want to direct to watch this). Looking forward to the retrospective on getting it back.

this is a bad website but your videos are very good and i’m so glad FF2 is back :)
Congrats Shannon! This sucks but is also awesome! haha
You worked so hard to get it back up and I really enjoyed that video so yeah cheers.
Thank God lol
Absolutely insane that that's what had to happen to get it fixed, apparently
wow, that's like the worst way for that to have been resolved
Nice!
Apparently, that's all I have to say lol
Gonna watch it in celebration!!!!!
Cool so when's part 3 (pls)
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
So happy for you!!
YAAAAAY
