Honestly this is a great AMV. The timing and the effects are really neat. "I'm coming to you in the year 2020." I know right? I got back into watching Astro boy 2003,it's been probably about a decade since I watched it, but I never forgot that episode where Tenma wiped Atom's Memories. I found that particularly harsh even after everything.
Ok Witch I just wanna say I feel you on a personal level you have no idea. Time and time again I come back to this series and time and time again I become obsessed with it once more. The whole plot between Astro and Tenma is emotional af and it kills me every time. All Tenma wanted to be was a good father and to right his wrongs with his son after he died, and twice he's failed to accomplish that. In that sense I sympathize with him, but you can't erase the past. Regarding the sub vs dub version, I agree that it's a downright crime that dub cut out certain scenes from the sub, especially considering some of them held extremely important information, i.e. Tobio getting hit by the car and Tenma hugging his limp body. Only reason I refuse to watch the subbed version is because I'm lazy and my brain has tunnel vision when it comes down to it. I like to watch my shows, not read em. I can also vouch for the 09 movie, they mixed things up to fit the story they created, and I'm fine with that, it was a good movie and it's my second favorite version of Astro. Anyway, I love the video, it deserves more views, and I bid thee good day. Apologies for such a long comment, I get too passionate with this show 😅 TLDR: this show is the best
I grew up with an intense love for the 2009 movie. I never watched the 2003 anime, and given how old it is, those sorts of things are hard to get into the more time passes. BUT, this amv alone does an excellent job of telling the story! I've rewatched it at least five times already.
