No video but have explained several times on our social media, I know I need to do a video, but the difference is every thing, elka only makes stage 3-5 in most cases, we do all 5 We have modified extended and compressed lengths to max the potential of the vehicle we build for. We have a custom 2 stage high/low speed valving design in all 5 stages to offer stage 5 level performance across the board. Along with Elka's epic shock quality and legendary rage pedigree, you get a shock package totally transforms the vehicle they are installed in.
They are rebuild-able, they are top shelf race shocks, we build for MANY many vehicles both utility and sport alike. Rebuild times very based on use and abuse on them, they last a tremendous amount to the masses, in race situations beat on relentlessly you will rebuild once a year, not racing, 10's of thousands of miles. We have customers report well over 20k miles and they still ride like the day they got them. If you have the skill and tools to rebuild, yes you can rebuild them, by getting the parts from Elka or one of there many service centers.
I ride with 200+ hp sxs in a stock teryx. Don't blame anyone for doubting it keeps up. With that said, how much for the front-end long travel kit. Don't need rear, as it's the front end that is maxing out and turning into snowplow at the base of big bowels.
It comes as a whole set up, on a teryx you will go from 8" to 18" of wheel travel and ride better than a KRX with our MT Long travel. Shoot, JUST adding our shocks on your rig, not even the long travel is night and day. Check out our Everything Elka playlist to see videos on both set ups on the Teryx.

Since the bike gained about 60 lbs with the engine swap and I am 220lb riding sand dunes, what direction should I go? How much improvement should I expect compared to OEM SE shocks.
Chucking the "barely adequate" stock shocks, any aftermarket will be a big improvement. Most will depend on your use, if you are mostly roads and drags, you could just get new springs and up for the added weight, but if you are really using the suspension a set of Elka Legacy shocks will be a MASSIVE upgrade over stock and the best bang for buck.

Thanks for the video, that's a helpful explanation. Will you be stocking any of them for the Kawasaki Mule Pro-FXT? Even stage one? Or are they all a 6 month wait?
As of right now (end of Oct 2020) they are about 10 weeks from date of order, we are working on taking care of that, come the first of the year we should get in an over $100K shock order so we will do our best keeping or Hester Edition shocks in stock and ready to ship. If you ordered now you would get your shocks about that time as well (first of the year 2021). Elka has hired more people and are upping production to try and keep up with demand world wide. But yes we are working on keeping MANY shocks in stock.
I live in the city more like a suburb city but we have so bumpy roads I weigh 270 and 6 feet I own a 900 would a 2 in the front and 3 in the rear do me justice ?
Not really, if you wanted the rebound go 2 all around, if you want the piggyback and compression clickers go 3 all around, if you don't care to touch the shock just bolt up and enjoy a whole new world better then stock just go 1 all around. As you step higher you gain morr things to play with. So if you love to dial shock in to perfection for your preference that is when the higher stages come into play.
I have a Brute force and I've been researching these different stages. The stage 1 is a big upgrade but to me the stage 2 with the rebound adjustment is what's important. When you adjust your pre-load ,having the ability to compensate with rebound adjustments will keep your shock balanced. Hit the whoops /rocky uneven terrain without bucking off and losing control. To answer your question, the stage1 is a custom shock for you. Your weight, what you have on the quad gear wise etc. Brute shocks are horrible. The stage 1 will be an improvement over stock shocks.
Jason give us a call and we can get you detailed info and current pricing on Brute Force shocks, Stage 3' kits have been our most popular for the Brute, but it really depends on what YOU feel will be best based on your wants and budget, ANY stage is a big improvement over the stock MEH shocks lol.
@andredomingues7165 legacy line for sport quads offer a tremendous bang for buck, lots of tuning with steel bodies to lower the price but offer piggyback and compression clickers. We do a lot of those on Yamaha and Honda sport atvs. Raptors super popular. Get a hell of a performance upgrade over stock at great value over Goin stage 3s or 4s with aluminum bodies. Let us know if we can help get you riding right!
I have an 09 yfz450r and I’m so torn between having the stock suspension revalved and sprung vs going elka stage 3. Can anyone offer any advise? I ride trails with quite a bit of large roots at high speed and some whoops. Really looking for a softer ride with a little more performance
Revalving and springing can help in that department, but if you want a BIG performance gain, AND by the time you pay for the valving, springs, shipping etc, you can have a set of legacy shocks that will be better, then you can sell your stockers and recover money, making the new shock option the winner, let us know, we can help with any set of Elkas for your Yammerhammer! (575) 445-3558
Aye man I know I’m catching this late and I’m curious as to what you want with? I was in the same boat with my 450r Honda ended up revalving and springing I kinda wish I would have just bought new
Mostly depends on how much you want to play with and fine tune the shocks. If you are doing more performance driving and jumping I would say min 3s, probably 3/4 combo or higher, that way you have the ability to really dial it in yo take more abuse. Let us know, can give us a call Tuesday-Saturday. 👍
all your preference on if you like to play with clickers or not, stage is purely based on if you want reservoirs or not, and if you want all the clickers or not. As you step up in stage price jumps. If you don't care to touch, then stage 1.
Would I be correct in stating that the Elka Legacy Plus is somewhere between Stage 3 & 4? A Stage 3.5? It has low-speed compression and rebound adjustment but no high-speed compression. I just bought a set because the Stage 4's were a bit out of my price range.
Legacy line of sport quad shocks is more budget friendly, you get all the bang of stage 4's, but with steel bodies to lower the cost to less then a stage 3! always a good call for the best bang for buck shock set up!
I want to eliminate body roll, suspension bottoming out and hit the whoops without losing control along with blazing over rocky terrain like a boss. Looks like Stage 4's for me. Ouch.
I absolutely need the adjustability here in AZ. 3/4 seems perfect but a 4/5 seems like our type of play mode, to bad the wallet and the wife thinks different!!! LOL SOON the 3/4
Even just the 4s are very impressive. But yes the 5s will cover every scenario possible to fine tune to your wanted set up. We do discounts on all 3, 4 and 5's too!
Stage is based on how much you like to play with the shocks. If you don't care to mess with them, stage 1, if would want more clickers to play with for perfection of your liking, then 3-5's. When ready give us a call we can get some romming for you. Tuesday-Saturdays (575) 445-3558. Thank you

As far as OEM fox's, depends on what vehicle you have, but YES, a vast majority of vehicles the Elka will be built to out perform the stock Fox shocks. Now... If you BUY custom built Fox's, that is a whole other matter as Fox builds great suspension, BUT for OEM, they have to listen to the manufacture and meet their price they will pay, therefor hardly any STOCK Fox shock that come on a vehicle is built right, mediocre at best. Upgrading the shocks is the BIGGEST upgrade you can ever do on a vehicle. And we sell massive upgrades for just about every major manufacture of ATV/SXS, and Trucks and Jeeps. Just give us a call and let us help TOTALLY change your ride.
So the stage 2 you can adjust the rebound only and stage 3 you can adjust compression only. What is the best adjustment to play with...? Is it preferable to play with your rebound or compression?
Yes... Lol. Sorry, there lies in the preference of what you wish to do. If you want to control additude thats rebound. If you want to play with stiffer or softer for verying load weights that is compression. If you want both that's stage 4 or 5s
So I have a polaris rzr I'm from Tennessee and we go on forest trails and sometimes there's tracks but i still wanna jump like 15 feet up at the most and be able to go over whoops, potholes etc. What stage do you think will be good for me I still want some good durability

name of the game in powersports. Top notch suspension can get pricey, but offer the biggest gains and bang for buck than anything else on the machine. In many cases, cost LESS that a set of wheels and tires, and gain you worlds more!
Compare to oem crappy shocks, yes very. Most oem shocks are 4-600 a piece for lower end vehicles, and on high performance 2500+ each, ours are much better priced, unless you are trying to price stage 5s vs stock on let's say a Kawasaki Mule or Honda Pioneer, then yes we cost more, but are a whole new universe better built. Dollar for dollar, we can beat oem, provide a world better ride and performance and are fully rebuildable, not cheap, over priced oems. What vehicle do you have and I am happy to prove that to you.
Doesn’t explain the difference in stages…just some general blah…blah…blah…. My guess, he is a salesman and does not know the difference, or he is simply trying to con buyers.
We show the difference in stages extremely clear, show you the clickers and what stage add. That IS the difference in stages. The shock bodies and specs do not change, the stage is your preference on how much personal tuneability you want on the shocks. What else would you like me to show?
@@HesterEdition define the specific differences in each Shock or stage; don’t talk in generalities…be specific. Example…maybe one comes with dual coils and the other doesn’t.
@@TrainWreck000 stage has nothing to do with springs, the vehicle applications does, some vehicles will have dual rates, some vehicles do not, the springs have nothing to do with stage. Stage 1 pre-load only, stage 2 pre-load and rebound clicker, stage 3 rebound Removed and reservoir added with low speed compression, stage 4 adds rebound back on, stage 5 splits the dual stage valving for independent high speed and low speed adjustability, just like clearly shown and stated in the video, it is that simple in stage selection, not over comicated. Specific vehicles will only have certain size bodies and spring configuration and only higher stages, like pure sport high performance will only have stage 5s. But when stage selection is available it really is that plain and simple on selection based Your wants on personal tuneability and features you want on it. As show on the table, a stage 1 and stage 5 IS the same shock, you clearly gain the added features. No need to over complicate explanation when it really is that cut and dry.

Aye man I know I’m catching this late and I’m curious as to what you want with? I was in the same boat with my 450r Honda ended up revalving and springing I kinda wish I would have just bought new
Hi
For the cfmoto uforce 1000 the lenght of your shoks is 24”?
Thank you
I have a new can am commander xt 1000, I was gana hit a few small jumps and trail riding. What stage would be the best for that?
Mostly depends on how much you want to play with and fine tune the shocks. If you are doing more performance driving and jumping I would say min 3s, probably 3/4 combo or higher, that way you have the ability to really dial it in yo take more abuse. Let us know, can give us a call Tuesday-Saturday. 👍
ive got a 21 canam defender hd10 max lonestar and i rock crawl, hard pack trails with lots of small rocks. which stage would you recommend?
all your preference on if you like to play with clickers or not, stage is purely based on if you want reservoirs or not, and if you want all the clickers or not. As you step up in stage price jumps. If you don't care to touch, then stage 1.
I’m in your exact same situation. Mine is a 22 and I have S3 springs and they have no flex at all. Stiff as a roller skate. You decide anything?
@Davis Family Shenanigans same here I have s3 springs..and i hate them...its like driving a 1990 pick up with solid axles though the woods 😂
Need rear shocks for 1985 Honda Odyssey Fl350
Would I be correct in stating that the Elka Legacy Plus is somewhere between Stage 3 & 4? A Stage 3.5? It has low-speed compression and rebound adjustment but no high-speed compression. I just bought a set because the Stage 4's were a bit out of my price range.
Legacy line of sport quad shocks is more budget friendly, you get all the bang of stage 4's, but with steel bodies to lower the cost to less then a stage 3! always a good call for the best bang for buck shock set up!
Are these rebuildable?
yes, they are race grade shocks, with years and many many championships in the pedigree :)
What would the best shock be for a 2015 commander that just trail rides. Looking for comfier ride
The stage is up to you on how much tuneability YOU want on the shocks. Just changing to a custom built shock is a whole new world!
I got stage 5 customize whit dual spring on my UTV
Yes, depending on the machine and class of machine it could have dual rates. Sport sxs it is very common.
Will the stage 1 shock fit on a 2016 can am maverick xc 1000r?
We will be back in Tuesday after Memorial day, we can sure get you prices 👍 thank you
I want to eliminate body roll, suspension bottoming out and hit the whoops without losing control along with blazing over rocky terrain like a boss. Looks like Stage 4's for me. Ouch.
If you want all the extra tunability, sure, if all the clickers don't matter to you then lower stages.
Do it you wont regret it or as i like to say buy once cry once
I absolutely need the adjustability here in AZ. 3/4 seems perfect but a 4/5 seems like our type of play mode, to bad the wallet and the wife thinks different!!! LOL SOON the 3/4
Even just the 4s are very impressive. But yes the 5s will cover every scenario possible to fine tune to your wanted set up. We do discounts on all 3, 4 and 5's too!
What would you recommend for a 2023 defender limited? I don't need speed anymore just want it to ride like riding a marshmallow
Stage is based on how much you like to play with the shocks. If you don't care to mess with them, stage 1, if would want more clickers to play with for perfection of your liking, then 3-5's. When ready give us a call we can get some romming for you. Tuesday-Saturdays (575) 445-3558. Thank you
@@HesterEdition I have walker evens on my old polaris ranger and they are great. I just leave them on soft all the time and I want these to ride as soft as those. I'm after the softest ride I can get. Will the stage 1 be that soft?
@@daverennpferd2273 not only will they be even pusher, the overall performance and load capabilities will also vastly improve. We build based off your weights and use
@@HesterEdition it's a standard limited 2023 defender trail riding want plush. 500 to 600 lb pound payload. Would like it to set 2 inches higher. How much for stage 1?
I’m just looking for height … I travel no so often I don’t do racing but I like being on highway lol
Then go 1s and enjoy the all around improvement 👍
What would you recommend for a Lexus GX470 overland application?
Depends on what year, if pre-2010 with or without KDSS. Then 2.0 or 2.5 and the set up you wish, how much tun-ability you want, type of lift etc. Here is a video of us unboxing some 2.5's for a Tundra

We plan on doing some video of the Tundra with them on when we get some nice weather too.
Any of these work with my Kawi Mule PRO-MX
Not yet, it is on our list to do, no set date yet to when they will be ready.
@@HesterEdition I really like this pro-mx put 27" Duros on for Utah rocks next month. Would really like a suspension upgrade

@@HesterEdition I don’t want to spend any more time just trying to get a price but thanks.
Are does better then fox ones
Terima kasih video
Which rzr do you have, and year. We can sure hwlp with that. Give us a call (575) 445-3558 Tuesday-Saturdays and ask for John, he can sure help you out.
Oh and fyi 900 Ryker ace
Bring money.
name of the game in powersports. Top notch suspension can get pricey, but offer the biggest gains and bang for buck than anything else on the machine. In many cases, cost LESS that a set of wheels and tires, and gain you worlds more!
Hahaha 😂 really economical hahaha so so so overpriced
Compare to oem crappy shocks, yes very. Most oem shocks are 4-600 a piece for lower end vehicles, and on high performance 2500+ each, ours are much better priced, unless you are trying to price stage 5s vs stock on let's say a Kawasaki Mule or Honda Pioneer, then yes we cost more, but are a whole new universe better built. Dollar for dollar, we can beat oem, provide a world better ride and performance and are fully rebuildable, not cheap, over priced oems. What vehicle do you have and I am happy to prove that to you.
@@HesterEdition that means sense totally
