    Pretty spot and good action! Ugh, the garbage people. Appreciate the message.

      I was baffled with the garbage. Whether you take the long way or the short hard way to get there---if they were willing to pack all that stuff in, it makes me curious what happened that made them decide leaving it was a good idea. Was it just a lazy thing or did they get sick or something and just bailed.

    Lots of work! They looked pretty plump though, for their length.

      I'm glad I went even though I didn't find the quality I was hoping for.

    Beautiful lake with plenty of open space to fish. But that is a lot of strain on the legs and knees for those size brookies.

      You never know unless you go. Even though the fish weren't big, I'm glad I went.

      Yea, we pretty much do know. I have been fishing the uintas much longer than you have and there really are not that many surprises anymore expecially with social media, gps, fish stocking information, google earth, etc. There was a time when we just had geological survey maps and a compass to make our way and it was pretty exciting then with no information and no people.

      @@davidbentley8092That was how it was for me in my early days of backpacking as well

    Another fun adventure. What bead did you try that helped with quicker balancing? Nice brookies for younger fish

    • @TroutHowler
      @TroutHowler  11 місяців тому +1

      They're called offset beads (tungsten). Depending on the brand, they are called jig bombs, insta jig or drop beads 👍

    Killer hike for a pile of trash and no older gen fish. At least you got to try a new rod.

    • @TroutHowler
      @TroutHowler  11 місяців тому

      That Sage rod is pretty awesome. It was fun even with no older fish.

    What day pack is your go to?

    • @TroutHowler
      @TroutHowler  11 місяців тому

      I picked up a Umpqua Surveyor 2000 ZS about 6 years on clearance. It's an awesome pack. I don't think they make them any more. It's been my go to daypack ever since

    Nice video!!! Crazy that people leave trash up there! Was wondering your thoughts on the Centric vs The sage rod?

    • @TroutHowler
      @TroutHowler  11 місяців тому

      Both are awesome. The Centric seems to be a little more sensitive and the R 8 seems to launch line a little more effortlessly.
