It’s because Ticketmaster charges their standard “fees” each time the ticket is sold so they are double dipping basically . Also, by allowing the resale they can see how much a particular artists true market value is without taking any risks themselves.
You have to be look around for deals. A few years ago I saw Paul McCartney from the lower bowl for 200 for a pair of tickets you used to pay 65 for nose bleeds and 300-500 for a pair on the floor or lower bowl seats . In 2022 I saw Elton John for 390 for a pair side stage lower bowl seats. Now a most tickets exceed 100per ticket in the upper bowl with few exceptions. But I did see the struts from good seats at a very small venue for 140 bucks for both tickets last November sadly my days of going to arena shows are pretty much over and I am more selective about the concerts and choose smaller venues. Also I don't vacation and budget about 2000 to 3000 for a handful of live events 1pay in cash as I won't buy on credit
@@eltonsalvador7620 I actually bought tickets off of Ticketmaster for Indy500 and i could only have physical tickets to get into my event. Long story short, I was unable to attend my event because I didn't receive the tickets
Yeah, the whole system needs to be reworked the fees, the fees, the fees, the hidden fees, the layering of fees plus the prices as they go up scalper grab all the tickets and then they also on these platform so the commissions are excessive. They’re exorbitant. It’s a rip off, turn me upside down and shake me down
Let’s put this in perspective. LN ceo Micheal Rapinos salary in 2022 was 13.8 million a year. He gave himself a raise in 2023 to 139 Million . You read that right. Live Nation has just over 12,800 employees. For every 1 dollar he pays his employee(s) he pays himself $5410 That is sickening to me
Whining over ,"My SWIFTY ticket is too damn high!" Yet, we have Walmart which took out small mom and pops grocery stores like a mob boss taking out competition and not one facking person whined in DC. This country is lost in more ways than one.
When the ticket vendors own the venues and tour management, there's no competition. Artists used to make their money from touring. Now they have to pay 30% of their touring revenue to the venue and tour management from Live Nation. When 90% of artists use Live Nation or Ticket Master, there's a problem.
It’s so hard to get tickets before they’re bought up by scalpers.
Its digital tickets no printed. Its been like that for years.
@@ChosenOne6666 can you still get printed? Like go to the box office and wait in line? I’ve only had that option for smaller venues. 🥲🥲

About damn time. Antimonopoly and antitrust laws exist for a reason.
And let's all pack up and go to Walmart to celebrate!
Ppl can still afford concerts? Crazy
There are the broke people and the others. Lots of concerts and games get sold out very quickly even when it costs hundreds of dollars.
Right and plane tickets and annual pass to Disneyland cost hundreds to thousands of dollars
@@wilddata I think they using credit cards

In the mid ‘70s I saw every group imaginable for $7.50 to $10.00. Now those same seats would cost thousands.
Same here! Saw Fleetwood/Mac on Rumors tour for $20 in Los Angeles Forum in 1977

Live Nation is the biggest, worst, greediest POS in the world!
