- Its worth the time and effort to explore Castiglione Messer Marino, a lovely old medieval centre and stunning views. There is a more modern part of the town, with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. There is a market, its car friendly and the whole place has a very friendly vibe.
My dad is from this town. We used to visit it quite often when I was younger, now living in Germany. The view on some spots and the people are fantastic. Thank you for bringing up good memories!
Hi Feli. I am so glad you enjoyed the vlog and that it brought back so many good memories.
Beautiful.the steps would defeat us. Thank you 🦘🦘🦘
They certainly played hell with my knees
Especially with no handrails and/or guardrails at those vertical drops...Treacherous!
Its pretty even in a storm💚☔
It certainly is
good to know that the old towns are thriving-seems peaceful-looking at the glorious views from the town everyday would be good for the soul-thank you for sharing
Some of the best views anywhere in southern Abruzzo.
Stunning scenery and beautiful town. Snow a couple of meters deep? I did not realize you got that kind of snow in Abruzzo!
Yes we can, a couple of years back, we had a lot more than that here. I posted a short vlog on the channel about it. The snow outside our house was as deep as three meters in places. Fortunately, the winters here are very short, January to February and back into spring.
@@variostick9215 I will have to look for that vlog. :)
It’s called ‘Winter in Abruzzo’, it’s just a few mins long, put your hat and gloves on though brrrrrrrr
I really enjoyed over there
It's a great place.
How far from the sea😎
I guess around 50 minutes
Castiglione Messer Marino, hometown of famous Italian-Argentianian racing driver Juan Manuel Fangio: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juan_Manuel_Fangio
His mother, Herminia Déramo, was from Tornareccio.
Hey thanks for that, I don't know 👍
Have you ever visited Villa Santa Maria
I haven't, but it is on my list, perhaps I will go there next and do one of my town tours.
@@variostick9215 it's beautiful they have a festa di cuoco. But sadly this year was none because of the lockdown
I live near there in the country
It looks very nice on the internet, I will certainly visit. We have not been able to have any festa here because of the virus.
@@variostick9215 it's know everything has changed this year hopefully things will get better. Mia compagno is in America and can't get home
So keep well and safe
I hope things will return to normal for you soon. Keep watching I will visit Villa Santa Maria soon. 👍
