It's great to see him move on like this. I'm so happy for him. He has always been one of my biggest inspirations (artistically) in spite of all the sadness, especially since I started loving Swallow the Sun in one of my darkest periods of life, too. Listening to all his projects has always been cathartic for me as well, just like for you.
great interview, so happy! I love swallow the sun, this album was a great strength for me in my meditation in my day to day life Juha Raivio my favorite guitarist especially in the solos of our eternal singer Aleah stanbridge ❤️👏🏻 trees of eternity also in my heart in my day to day life 🖤🔥❤️🤘🏻🎼🎼🤍✨🙌🏻😍🥰
Given if I had more time I would have loved to talk Trees of Eternity with him. Thank you for checking this out. I'm glad STS has impacted you similar to how they have impacted myself.
Saw these guys for the first time on the Moonflowers tour with Draconian in Manchester (UK). I only really knew a couple of songs from New Moon at the time and went to the concert mainly for Draconian but became a big StS (and Trees of Eternity) fan afterwards. As others have said, it's good to see Juha giving interviews again. Can't wait for the new record!
That would have been an incredible bill to see. I'm glad you got into both Sts and Trees of Eternity thanks to the show. Thanks for checking out the interview.
This interview made my day, thank you! These guys have been my favourite band since 2010 and Juha is one of my all time heroes. It's been a long (albeit very understandable) wait to see him give a video interview again. Very glad to see him out there talking about the new album, which I am so excited to hear. You brought up lots of great topics/questions from the fan perspective which made for a lovely conversation. Cheers!
Whoa great conversation, cool that he's doing interviews again. It was very surreal to see him playing live the last time I saw them (2019 I think?)... on the tour opening for children of bodom. That was supporting When A Shadow... so it was crazy to see him playing such emotional music right in front of me.
Thank you for checking this out. This is what I strive to do with every interview, be it a band that's meant something to me for around 20 years like StS, or a band I just discovered. I haven't had the opportunity to see them live yet. Unfortunately next year will be similar as Minnesota is being skipped on this run, so I'm hoping on the next run it'll finally happen. I'm sure I'll be an emotional wreck.
Great interview and insight from both parties! The interview seems to have cut short because of the Zoom timing or something but no matter hahaha. I'm glad to see Juha doing interviews again and being excited for the band. May they shine on for years to come.
Thank you so much. Yes, I got cut off at the 40 minute mark. I also knew he had other stuff going on as he explained in the beginning, so I didn't want to force him to rejoin the meeting just to wrap things up. I still think it was a good note.
I'm sure Shining will be a masterpiece just like other Swallow the Sun albums
It is, just expanded musically.

I'm glad you have the same feelings and reactions that I do from his work. Thank you for checking this out.

Agreed. I'm glad I could help spread his thought out there. Such intriguing ways of thinking of songwriting.
